Nice shave John! Like you, I usually don't like bayrum scents as well, for me it's the clove scent I really don't like. So it's nice when an artizan offers them without the clove, like some of the PAA bayrum themed scents. The one you mentioned with the mermaid is coconut bay with lime, really nice 😎👍

I find the head of the 15C/25C very similar to the Gillette Old head. Strangely, the Gillette has a bit of blade feel and the Merkur is very very mild.
If you have the Gillette Old, would you do a head to head (pardon the pun) comparison between the two?

You must have read my mind. I have been looking at the Merkur 25c and thinking how much it resembled the 1918 Gillette that Sinatra Lennon uses occasionally and I just suggested to him that I would like to see him shave with the Merkur and compare it to the Gillette. After seeing your video I am satisfied that it would be too mild for me. I have a Merkur 39c slant blade that I like and I have a Chinese knockoff of the Merkur Futur that gives me great shaves now that I have got it dialed in. Thanks for another good video John!

John I've got the short handle version of this called the 15c. I also have the 23c which is the closed comb version of the 25. Strangely it gives a closer shave. Go figure.😀 I love the handle. 👍

You are thinking of Coconut Bay with Limes and it is heavenly.
PAA tends to have a great "house character " which tends to let you know it could only be PAA.

This was a really nice and interesting shave, John! Great brush and lather, but the razor is the most interesting aspect. Very mild OCs don't seem to be common. I have a couple of them of the mild (RoR Old Type) and mid aggression (RoR Game Changer .68 OC), because I like to do extra pickups. I usually shave every day, so I might think about picking this one up. I prefer scalloped SB and OC razors because they have better blade feel and don't strip the lather away before the blade contacts the skin. Funny enough, my SOTD was an all RazoRock shave today...RoR Old Type OC, The Stallion soap and splash, lathered with a RoR Plissoft. Great shave! I felt like Rocky Balboa afterwards! 🥊🥊🥊Great scent of Oud, which is new to me! I've been busy this full week back, too, and knocked out on Wednesday after work like you did. 🤣🤣 I'll be catching up on your other videos! Have a great rest of the weekend!👍🍻😎💈

John some of the cart razors are made to leave a stubble but I've never heard of a DE or SE made for that.

You don't need to soak a synthetic, but you still need a bit of water between the fibres.

Hi John. Nice shave. That’s an interesting description of that razor. The Razor Company describes it as a razor for sensitive skin and perfect if you’re looking for the closest shave possible while still protecting your skin from razor burn. From the lean in it looks like it did a good job. Have a nice weekend.

I recently used one of the newer green Astra blades and had a terrible time of it.
This one was great, i havnt used them in a while 👍👍

I would read that description the same way. I feel like sometimes vendors don't really check the listing text or, let's say, read it critically. I think they get the text from someone else and just paste it in. I hope you have a good week!

Next to PAA Droid Black, Diver Down is my second favorite PAA soap when it comes to fragrance. All PAA soaps are lather monsters. All-in-all you did okay. But who would sell a razor that features leaving stubble? They must have meant something else. I'm a daily shaver and the Rockwell 6S is my go-to. I almost always get a BBS shave with the 6S. Not that I have any weddings to attend 😉 Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Worth the wait. Great shave with a very mild razor. Probably would work good with some feathers. My SOTD was actually yesterday because no need to shave after that today it was so close. A weeks worth of growth with Personna Comfort Coated USA blades. Used Stirling’s MITA glacial for that extra kick of menthol. That must be your favorite because how much you love menthol. Very close and
