I love the fades bro. Keep going. That Iron Heart 18oz denim is legendary. I think after the Indigo Open I want to get that OD CPO shirt they have. Beating an IHJ-72 right now. Double indigo with electric blues everywhere.
Preciate it my dude! And yea that OD is a beast! I can’t think about it too long because I’ll be tempted to grab it, but I just don’t have the time to break that in along with everything I already have. How long have you been working the IH jacket? And do you plan on washing it anytime soon?
@@sticksbegrowin625 I think I’ve got like 36 wears or so on it. I don’t plan on washing it until 365 or never if I don’t have to. I think the Indigo Open goes to November 1st, but I may wear it straight past that unless I can line that CPO up. It’s starting to look that all too nice, greasy, wet, double blue, so I don’t wanna lose that at all. Just turn up the contrast. 😂👌🏾Are you entering the Indigo Invitational this year? I’m entering some 25oz Samurai’s in that. Should be a fun combo to beat on for a year.

I’ve seen the fades in the past and it looks sweet but it’s hard putting a pair down to start a brand new project unless that was already in the plan. The timing never aligns so I never really looked into it. Are there any prizes for the winners or?

The same happen with my Studio d'Artisan denim shirt, the bottom is curling. You can try to iron it but it won't last. I gave up trying to fix this since that's what the fabric wants to do. I guess i gives and authentic feel to it.
Yup nothing I can do to fix it really, it would only be temporary like you said. So oh well

Yea I’ve heard of em. I’ve seen a couple places where I could mail them off to but I doubt I ever send them. I’d rather find a local spot that can do it so I won’t go to sleep at night wondering if my jeans will make it back to me lol.
And yea all my pbj’s and oni’s are unsanforized. The pbj’s in this video are unsanforized
@@sticksbegrowin625 ahh I see. Do you happen to pre soak your unsaforized denim to avoid any fades shifting after the shrinkage from the first wash?
Definitely. I only do a cold water soak though. I’ll never put my denim through the washing machine again, and it’ll always be ice cold water whenever I do soak after breaking them in, so I’m not worried about shrinking them as much as possible. If you ever plan on using hot or warm water, I’d suggest starting off with that same temp for the initial soak. I’m not sure how many sizes you went up or how much they need to shrink, but hot water will shrink em the most obviously. So maybe lukewarm or cold. There’s a guy on reddit that wore em straight out the gate and didn’t mind his fades shifting….? 😂 I think he was lying, fucked up, and didn’t want to admit it. But hey, what do I know lol
@@sticksbegrowin625 thanks I have a lot of experience with sanforized denim but an planning to take the plunge into unsaforized. I also heard many say that if you do a cold soak, they will shrink for the next few cold soaks over the lifespan. Though as you know everyone is an expert these days 😭

I love the slub, the texture, the irregularities, all of it. But sizing can be tricky. If you can go into a store, they should be able to assist you. And yea lol I’ll be the first to say I’m not the expert, but what I’ve experienced from soaking in ice cold water is that they’ll shrink back to where you originally started with given you use the same temp for soaking every time. If you start with cold, wear them for a yr and wash with warm, you might be disappointed. So in my opinion, the shrinkage is similar to sanforized denim when using the same temp. My Nudies (sanforized) always went back to their original fit once washed.
So quick question. I’m a lot bigger than you my shoulders are at 21 and I’m like a 48 chest. I bought the biggest size and when I put it on it was a very snug fit. The abdomen is the tightest part for me the shoulders are very close but functional. My question is will this shirt stretch or become looser over time? Or do I need to let iron heart shirts go because they’re made for skinny dude?
The IH shirt doesn’t stretch as much as my rgt ISC did. And if it does stretch, it won’t be until 6+ months in. I’ve seen guys way bigger than me in IH shirts so I can’t really say they’re made for skinny people. But if you’re in the big and tall category, I doubt any of these brands make em that big. Plus, if it did stretch, the moment you wash it, it’ll shrink back down to the size you started with or even tighter. You’d have to wash/soak in ice cold water to minimize the shrinkage. If you are able to manage the tightness, the fades you’d get would be impeccable.

Lol there’s no method really. Maybe fabric Febreze. I used to throw them in the freezer years back but it would only hide the smell temporarily. I just make sure I’m clean when the jeans go on and I’m usually fine. I don’t really smell when I sweat so I’m able to sweat em out at work, hang ‘em up, and they’re dry by the morning. But yea try a fabric spray or odor neutralizer. What denim are you rocking right now?
@@sticksbegrowin625 currently I’m living in some old BAPE denim. It’s a raw pair I bought in or around 2006. It’s only in recent years I can appreciate raw denim & am now trying to wear those in lol. But, there’s something about denim from that era & I think it’s the dyes used (maybe not natural indigo); I have 2 pairs of Neighborhood jeans that develop the same smell. Chemical sorta & when mixed with that natural man smell; sheesh! But the jeans are not heavily soiled. Maybe it’s time to wash them all!
@@AC-vt4uk dude I know the exact smell you’re talking about lol I’ve grown to love that smell. I can’t really explain it but it’s so distinct, I only associate it with worn in denim. All my unwashed denim has that smell. Jeans, jackets, all of it. So I wouldn’t worry about that if you can stand it, but yea I always recommend washing when you feel it’s time. And maybe sweat em out completely during the week you plan on washing them or something like that.
does the ISC bleed onto your t-shirts and furniture?
Yea but I wear shirts I don’t care about underneath. and I don’t really have light furniture so it’s not an issue for me but it could definitely be a problem for anyone else.
