FYI, the landing gear failure wasn't "hanging on by just a thread" the gear was fully in tack and is actually designed to take the punishment of a failure such as this. But the media and vids like this one love drama. Pilots are actually trained and there is protocol for failures like this.

Always good to hear your thoughtful and logical analysis. I don't care about bullish or bearish market. Trade a small percentage of your portfolio rather than going in and out every couple weeks trying to time the market trading went smooth for me as I was able to raise over 8.4 BTC when I started at 3 BTC in just few weeks implementing Richard daily signals and tips..
This conversation about successful trading makes me want to be a successful trader. I really have to text Mr. Richard's and send him all my money that I saved before I lost my job. Mr Richard's made the others guys rich... I mean just look how much they earn. I'm pretty sure Mr Richard's will make me a wealthy man too. He is my last chance and even more important, my last hope.
Number 6 - Jet Blue landing with the sideways front landing gear - This video leaves out the best part! The pilot balanced the plane on the back two wheels for as long as possible before letting the front landing gear hit the ground. That undoubtably saved the front gear from collapsing.
I've landed at courchevel, as a passenger not a pilot lol its a hella lot freakier than what it seems to be in the video..... Same with Princess Juliana airport I've been on the beach as a 747 landed and is is hella amount of fun trying to hold on to the fence as the jet blast hits you
Congonhas (Con-gon-eeas) is the 2nd largest airport in Brazil, in terms of passenger traffic, and is second only to Cumbica Airport (Guarulhos). Until 2018, it received international and local flights. Today it operates only local flights, but even so, in 2019 - pre-pandemic, it handled more than 22 million passengers. I myself have used Congonhas Airport dozens of times and I can say that it is an excellent airport, which offers an equally excellent infrastructure. On a clear night, the approach to the airport is an unforgettable & beautiful show of thousands of lights and roads, like an immense anthill!
7:40 actually departed from Tallinn, Estonia and headed to Moscow. Because of the issues with landing gear they decided to redirect the flight to Leningrad for an emergency landing. The pilots wanted to use up all fuel to diminish fire risk at "belly landing" and kept circling around the city, but fuel gauges gave wrong readout and fuel ran out when they were too far from airport. So quick decision was made for waterlanding.

The best way to get to Saba is to fly to Princess Juliana in St.Martins. We had a time share on St. Martins and took the Dash 7 on several occasions to Saba. We swore the Saban pilots were fresh out of high school.
Interesting video You know when you’re on a beach too close to an airport when you go back to your hotel room and discover tread marks on your stomach!
Australia also has an Antarctic ice runway that handles intercontinental flights including heavy aircraft such as the C-17A Globemaster. There are many similar aerodromes and dozens of runways across the continent given its size and multi-nation treaty, of which the US is not a signatory. McMurdo is far and away, not, Antarctica's "main airport", but is, America's main aerodrome in Antarctica.

1:39 Saba Airport has the shortest runway in the world, but the biggest plane that flies there commercially is the DHC-8 Twin Otter, a almost VTOL Aircraft (Can takeoff like helicopters and has throttle), and stops in less than 250 ft. It is very safe, as pilot's are specially certified to land there. 2:43 Madeira's engineers were actually very smart. It was the only flat area on an island of super rugged and high mountains, which would be impossible to put a runway on. Secondly, the platforms are totally safe, so nothing to be worried about. Thirdly, for pilots, the airport isn't tough to spot. They have navigation, waypoints, GPS and have a visual chart of the airport, the approach, and visual landing. They always have an eye on the airport when in view, and even when not they still have navigation to guide them (10x+ times better than a car's GPS) 3;57 St. Maartin's Princess Juliana airport is very safe, and the beach is safe too. there hasn't been a single accident, unless by a human's own doing on the beach (standing 3 people on a person, etc.) that has been fatal or injured. It's also not hard for pilot's because they are trained to block out people when training to fly aircraft at airports. You could say this about Fort Lauderdale's approach too (Flow going west). Pilot's don't pay attention to the people. 5:36 That lufthansa flight was totally safe, and this "horrific Crosswind landing" could be said about thousands of landings on any day of the week. The pilot did well, dropped the wing to lineup with the runway, but had to make a go around. not dangerous. 7:52 The T-104 was one of the most dangerous aircraft ever. no one flies it anymore, for that reason. 8:56 Toncontin Airport is not used by commercial airlines anymore, so don't worry about landing there. there is a newer airport with a much nicer approach. 11:11 Gisborne airport get's like 4 flights a day, not dangerous. they close the airport runway when there is a train crossing. 13:10 Congohas airport is literally not even that dangerous. the ILS approach to the landing runway isn''t that long, but it isn't dangerous.
Kai Tak is unforgettable both from flying that approach and also from being on the streets of Mongkok and seeing a parade of 747s so close overhead. Cheap Lap Kok is a superior facility but the thrill is definitely gone.
Ascension island, another near St Helena played an important role during the Falklands war and is still in use today by us (UK). The boat access to St Helena was the last remaining Post Office boat in service I think. Sailed to Cape Town, as far as I know.
if you are going to talk about dangerous airport, have in mind Cuzco, Peru. It is a dangerous airport near mountains and the airport is in the middle of the city. Aproximation is too dangerous
Having been to st helena varios times i can tell you going in by ship was wonderful . You could sail from uk approx 3 or 4 times a year taking 2 weeks to get there. Also you were able ro sail from cape town. On speaking to the people on the island they at the time thought the airport would help although many of them didnt seem aware rhat the ship would stop. The ship used to bring in building materials and even cars as well as general suplies for the islanders. How i miss the ship with its fantastic crew. A friend who is st helenian who lives in the uk did fly to johannisburg and then on to st helena. She hated it and was very expensive. She will not return to her homeland again unless a ship is reinstated
Princess juliana is similar to the more-dangerous airport in skiathos, Greece, the planes land even lower over the beach and there is non fence between the runway and the beach, so Skiathos is more deadly than princess juliana
1:20 Well that's a big block to crash into. On the other hand, I would prefer to have such block rather than crashing into something more solid or dipped down 90 degree
Air travel is the safest way to travel... I question that for the fact is it takes quite a few car accidents for about 150 people today instead of one plane crash just saying
There is literally zero substance behind any commentary in this video. There are no "specialty" trained pilots for certain airports. You're either on that route, or you're not. "No lights? Oh no........" I land at airports with no lights literally every week. You just fly only during the day. Alllllllll just drama in this video. Nothing out of the ordinary.
Title says 15 dangerous airplane landings and takeoffs but the countdown is just a list of airports that are hard to land or take off on. Misleading clickbait
motorbikes are the most dangerous for of transport by a long way, if involved in a car crash you are liable to survive, but a crash in an aeroplane you are almost certainly going to die. Motorbikes are very dangerous form of transport due to not hag a crash protection around your body, the danger of death from motorbikes is increased massively if not wearing a crash helmet. Although cars are a reasonably safe means not wearing a seatbelt increases the chance of death as does turning the airbag off or even removing it. Aircraft are very dangerous is the plane gets into trouble when in the ocean or far from airports, if the plane hits the ground the chances you die is high to certain. This is why many fear flying despite the low number of crashes each year.
I am unsure of the fastidious comment the commentator has made concerning Couchevel International Airport not having any navigation aids. Looks up 'RNAV Approach'. Small airports that couldn't afford the equipment major airports have turned to GPS based navigation aids for take offs and landings. Although I do acknowledge that I am not seeing runway lights.
Thank You
