The most beautiful images that will definitely stay in your memory. 17:18 The most beautiful and perfect landing of the A340 with cross wind and 30:20 the take-off of the almighty and beautiful An225.
I'm not too sure about the comments about bad landings and high winds affecting the landing . I'm sure some are . But I also know that however dreadful it appears to on-lookers and passengers on board , the 'side-on' approach or slip , is a useful 'tool' for a pilot to use loose speed .
I really love the Alaskan Bush plane because it could take off and land in a short space of time. Those thick tires are designed for rough and uneven terrain .
Dude in the jetpack is crazy lol... though the plane is not flying that fast, as seen by the flaps being deployed a bit. Still, that's some awesome engineering and an awe-inspiring display of courage! Well done!
To bad I was watching without sounds. I just couldn't stop thinking about tens of thousands of dollars lost in those few seconds. Edit: Together with hundreds of hours of building and maintenance.
not really he demoed that jet suit for red bull and this was one of the stunts they did ... he also flew across the english channel as well .. there is a documentary about him on youtube ...
When taking off, it has these rolling support structures under the wings. Once the plane is going fast enough that the wings start to get some lift, those supports are no longer needed, and no longer have any weight on them, which allows them to just fall away. There are videos of this here on YT if you're interested.
This is one from two special aerobatic helicopters MBB BO-105 in property of Red Bull Flying Bulls team. Booth were heavily modified for performing aerobatics maneuvers like back flip, looping or barrel roll. These helicopters are the only ones in the world that can perform similar acrobatics. One of these helicopters (paint in grey instead Red Bull collors) was seen in begining of James Bond movie "Spectre", where flew over city and performed some of these maneuvers.
The plane taking forever to lift off from Brazil brings back memories for me (not necessarily pleasant ones). Once in Florida I remember the plane taking what seemed like way too long to lift off. I looked out the window right after we caught air and saw that we had just taken off in time. Packed flight as usual, and then landed in near-blizzard conditions in New England. A hairy takeoff and a hairy landing, too! We were the last plane to land before the airport closed.
My first unit out of technical school, in the AF, was with a C-130 wing. They were there to train pilots on the C-130, with only training missions 90% of the time. The first time I witnessed one of the crews learning and practicing "Assault Landing", coming in high then nose over and land in something like 900 feet, I thought they'd crash, then once the training crew showed them how to do it, the trainees got to try, only up higher and nowhere near the ground until they had the pullout timed right.
I have spoken with the Thunderbird pilots right after their practice flying around Nellis AFB, in Las Vegas, Nevada, they showed me their forearms with the blood veins popping up, one of the affects of a 9g turn. They loved it, lol. That was back in 1982-3 & 4, they loved the F-16s, of course we all do.
Whenever I see a chopper coming down in the middle of traffic , I pull over and give him all the room he needs. Why not? Safety first. Great collection, thanks. Respect from MAINE USA
Luckily no one was injured + lucaas’s video transitions = daily dose of the internet edit: i’m not saying the channel is a copy but it just reminded me it
3:00 "Can I speak to you about your plane's extended warranty?" edit(context: birdstrike clip): i like to think birds wake up one day and be like "im gonna turn into a suicide bomber" and fly into engines
The car (usually a corvette or charger) chasing the plane (U-2 "Dragonlady") down the runway is there to help the pilot land. Another pilot sits in the car an helps talk on radio to the pilot in the plane letting him know how close to the ground he is (40ft, 30ft, 10ft, ect). The alt. gauges in the U-2 are primarily set for extreme high altitude (its a spy plane) and the fact that the U-2 lands on a single main gear and a tail wheel, almost like a glider. Once the plane is on the ground - wing mounted wheels are put on to stableize the aircraft, but it does not have classic landing gear in order to save weight for the extreme long flights and also to help in the shape of the aircraft.
Great video really enjoyed it Couple of small things The last british 747 was being escorted by the red arrows. The Hawk is a combat plane so you're not wrong just adding detail :) and the helicopter a few clips after was a VTOL plane (Ospray I think but others will know better) But yeah really enjoyed that and have subscribed
Primarily yes but the Hawk 200 is a combat plane and other versions can be used in combat roles (Even though it is unlikely to happen) so they're not actually wrong. The hawk has seen active service as a combat jet.
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment?"
1:39 I was neaby in a car when that happened in Bucharest. Huge skill of landing it safely. Just 2 cars was damaged by the lamp posts and a tree smashed from the ground.
That was not on purpose. The plane on final was underneath the other, therefore not seen until too late. That’s why a lack of communication, while not mandatory, is always in order when possible. Some aircraft do not have radios in order to save weight and complexity, but personally I will not fly unless I have some form of radio, even if only handheld.
At 22:15 the "helicopter" is actually an US Marine Osprey and as for the fighter taking off from a carrier on full power; all aircraft are required to be at full power when taking off from a carrier.
Prior to 9/11, I was flying from EWR to ALB. Flight at altitude was great, but closer to ground we were at evevy attitude except dead level. I could watch through the open cabin door, and that was one of the smoothest landing I've ever had. That pilot was geat.
The car chasing a plane down the runway at 11:00 ... a U-2 has a chase car on landing to help them gauge their approach, because landing that bird is tricky... and you need someone to re-attach the outriggers to let you taxi. I don't believe it is necessary for landing, but it's a really big help. You can actually hear them talking on the radio with the pilot. To save weight, that airplane only has the two centerline landing gear, and it's one of the few aircraft that you need a spacesuit to fly, because it rivals the Blackbird for altitude capability, and at altitude there's three knots difference between "stall and fall out of the sky" and "Airframe torn apart by exceeding maximum speed, fall out of the sky." Flying it is mentally and physically exhausting, from what I hear... but it is currently in a running competition with the B-52 for which one lasts longer in the USAF inventory.
