Oh.. i think im the first comment here. I have the exact one you have in this video for almost 2 years now.. never let me down and i work it almost every week..small jobs like clearing some trees.. or cutting some firewood.. but at least once a week im using it and it just never let me down. You've made a good choice by buying from Stihl brand.. my trimmer is Stihl also.. and that i have it for almost 4 years now.. and that is kinda worked hard on my farm..and is just working..If you know the maximum job your tool can do and you do not force it or mess around with it..i think you will have it for life. Stihl still does quality tools even today. Hope you the best. and Merry Christmas. Cheers.

Yes, I dont get to use it as much as I'd like to, but I'm happy to have it. I have a friend, who just bought a 660 clone from china. Im not sure how long it will last, but it is a beast. We used it to mill a slab off of a big downed tree. Thanks for the comment. Merry Christmas to you too!

I’ve had the 180c for about 10 years with heavy firewood use for about 4 of those years. Starts every time I need it same spark plug it came with. It has cut down and bucked up up some pretty big trees. You can’t beat stihl they make strong equipment.

That's great to hear and I'm still happy with it so far. Thanks for commenting!

Honestly this is an excellent review. I just got a ms271 and also wanted a smaller saw to do short work. This review shows solid work load for these little saws. I'm getting one.

My ms 180 bucked up a 20-21 inch dead pine, yesterday. I had to cut “over the top” and then down but I bucked it up pretty easily. I have never cut a 40 inch tree with a 16 inch bar but I have cut some pretty big trees with a 16 inch bar. However, I have big saws with long bars for those big trees. .I would have probably cut that 40 inch tree with one of my 20 inch pro saws. PNE is good gas. It is what I run. The reason I would use a bigger saw is because I don’t want to spend all day cutting it up. I also don’t like to strain my smaller saws. I limit my smaller saws to one tank of gas a day. No such limit is placed on my big pro saws.

We normally don't have trees this size here, plus i was trying to go for just one saw since i dont do much tree cutting. Recently I've been cutting down a lot of 6 inch diameter or less and have been thinking about one of those arborist saws. I think it would make my life a lot easier.

I have a Husqvarna 460 Rancher paid $500 with cheap parts. Use it less than 100 hours had to replace sprocket gear, cylinder and piston made in China. I should get a one time use made in China 20 inches bar chainsaw under $200. If I can use a cheap chainsaw two times, I already got my money back. Who needs a Stihl or a Husqvarna.

I have had a stihl ms311 since shortly after they came out, It has had the DOG beat out of it. The only part I have put on it is a sprocket. It has NEVER quit on me accept for forgetting to gas it up!

Here are a few things I don't like about Husqvarna chainsaws. The chain tentioner is integrated into the clutch cover which makes reinstalling the bar after cleaning a little more difficult. Husqvarnas have an outboard clutch making chain installation less conveniant. The clutch has to come off to change the sprocket. I know each of these featurs have their reason; such as making the saw narrower for all day use, or heat dissapation. I just like the layout of stihls much better. EDIT: I have alot of hateful things I want to say about husky, but I don't want to start a debate.
