I have been looking for a video which actually tells players what to do when defending. This video is great with real life examples and a clear explanation. Great job!
Or an spin move, if you sprint and change your hips, any spin move woul let you ot of game. Any way, its noy a bad resource, I preffer lateral sliding, buy may work with some players
Better offense always beats better defense. You're putting the situation in a vacuum by saying "yeah but he can still score". A good offensive player can always score, it's about percentages, and making the shot more difficult.
When u play a guy to a side like that what u gotta look out for is the pull back crossover or step back. If that's something that they like to do, it's always best in my opinion to sprint 2 steps so that when the counter move comes u can better react to it instead of continuing to sprint ahead of them after they have come to a stop

Love it! You're putting words on what I'm teaching to my players, thanks!
Thanks!
The issue with sprinting to a spot to cut off the ball handler is the pull back/step back counter. That's how you get your ankles broken son!

Facts. I tried this recently and my opponent did 2 stepbacks and scored.
Also they can do a crossover between their legs and use their of arm to get passed you.
@@EnanoForro only thing is that you won’t be able to slide as fast as someone running normally. I try to do a mix of sliding and turning and sprinting

The day I could not play defense is the day I retired from 🏀basketball. 32 years old playing days 2001-2019. Not going to lie I miss basketball.
Please do drills to become a better shooter and shooter off the dribble

That sounds good I must admit... But I like to slide my feet and cut them off...you stay ready in the movement of the feet I've found...🤷🏾♂️

Try out this move! ua-cam.com/video/en9M7jQ1KiM/v-deo.html&t=
The only thing I disagree is about the pull up jumper. If properly used, it's one of the deadliest moves in basketball, but thanks
I disagree with the sprint to the basket... You'll get broke so fast doing that against even a decent ballhandler....
@@rayray5472 facts got 2 stepbacks hit on me
I lock right.
