At first I thought he’s was just playing mind games with them but on rewatch she in fact did not cycle the bolt after firing.

Although the character of Mick is fun to watch in a depraved sort of way, every other character in this show is so friggin’ stupid it kind of makes it hard to get through. They make the dumbest choices, and every time they have a chance to take Mick out, which is actually pretty often, they just stand there staring at him or turn their backs to him as if they want him to grab his gun and finish them off. Seriously, these people must want to die because every time they have a chance to end Mick they seemingly purposefully f*ck it up.

If it’s not instantly incapacitating then you’re simply asking for trouble. I used to ask the same question - why do the cops not shoot violent crooks in less lethal places? Well, for a start, they’re not necessarily ‘less lethal’, and secondly, you have to drop a violent perp before he can enact more harm on the police and citizen bystanders.

2) Get a licence for a hunting shotgun,go to the range and get some experience hamdling the shotgun

Of the two, the second season takes place before the first and the movies, chronologically speaking.
Or Eve just doesn't want to face Mike again, she saw that his body was gone and she just realized he wasn't human so that was the closest she'd ever get to victory, I don't think she would want to get involved against something supernatural like Mike again.
