Thank you! So that would be a LML Engine. Good Engine. But the high pressure fuel pump is a time bomb for your Engine. It has the CP4 model. Look into getting a CP3 model. Just my opinion.

Use an actual water sensor wrench. You can buy one for like $8. And take it off while the filter is still on the truck, so that you don't have to struggle holding it with both hands.

Just bought an AC Delco fuel filter for a 2001 Duramax. The large o-ring will not sit inside the groove. I compared it to the old filter (china-made), and it seems the gap is slightly larger, letting the o-ring sit snugly. Not the case for the new AC Delco

I have a 2007 GMC & I can work with it & get it from the top,
But bought a 2007.5 GMC Duramax ( new body style) for my daughter, and was looking to change hers,
And it’s just too tight from the top,
I was hoping not to have to remove the fender well,
But don’t see any realistic way around it.
    Unfortunately…
I was hoping someone might have a magic secret.

The Plastic Bleeder Screw is a 13mm head with a flat head groove on top. If you can't get it with a 13mm socket, try a small flat screw driver. But heat it up a little to melt into the plastic. Time for a new one also.
