And that's what I love about the Fight Card format. Because it's not just about winning, it's about putting on a show to impress the Selection Committee. What they'll see from this is Ripperoni taking a free shot when it had the chance, and it's willingness to show aggression and cause damage. So this win looks very strong indeed.

Ripperoni is actually a pretty good design, despite what you might think from its odd shape. If you can pilot it correctly, you can use it to attack using the left side primarily, with the less vulnerable wheel, and manage to use the entire bot almost like a funnel to shove almost any shape into that wicked blade. A really innovative asymmetrical design that seems to have a lot of potential.
I did not expect End Game to make such a fatal mistake out of the gate! Look at the damage that was dealt to End Game, like the chassis has chunks missing, is surely to have cracked and it's virtually warped; that shows how much energy is behind RIPperoni. It's a fun eclectic design but has serious aggression behind it!
Tbh, using long forks like they did also hardly ever works while trying to drive either. Someone always gets stuck in the saws, and while Ripperoni was showing sportsmanship and engaging anyway, others use this as a way to say "ha ha, sucker, you're stuck now and I'm gonna win by default!". Sure, the forks can keep others away from your front, but let's be real: With spinners like EG, you want to hit the back. :P But MAN, those weapon on weapon blows!
The part that impressed me the most is RIPeroni being able to have "controlled movement" by limping using the gyro effect from its weapon. That's some nice driving.

That turn Ripperoni makes at 1:46. 👨🍳💋👌 They've got such an amazing concept, and it's beautiful to see it working. No robot with a vertical disc that size should be able to turn that fast.
Glad to see RIP got its counter rotation flywheel working. I thot' after last time it was a flawed design since the flywheel was not in close alignment with the weapon, but seems all is good.
Yep, last time the flywheel it doesn't started up and the robot was completely unstable. This time it really kept the wheels on the ground the most of the time.
Ripperoni's flywheel was working fine at the start of the last match. Something just went wrong on early on. In this fight, I think they actually turned it off to help them move with only one functioning wheel.
You're getting a lot of conflicted stories but I heard that their flywheel used too much battery so they turned it off, and in this fight they had it at a lower power so the bot would go the whole match
I heard they turned it off in the Gruff match because they wouldn't be stable anyway with the bent support/wedge/third point of contact (Kenny points that damage out well) and would only bounce on the spinner more often with the flywheel on, so they went full crazy and hoped for some random chaotic hits. As far as I know it was on the entire fight against End Game.
Absolutely love Ripperoni. Could have easily won by a complete fluke, but chose to make a fight of it, despite knowing they were fighting one of the best robots around, and then after all that still won.

Forks it's an overused meta. And when people finds out the correct counter it's going to fall just like horizontal spinners did last decade. I still remember when Megabyte was 3 years undefeated in Robogames
The counter is likely going to be bots like Fusion who have both vertical and horizontal weapon systems (or a weapon system that can switch on the fly between them). I don’t know if Fusion has what it takes for this season, but I’m betting whichever bot wins the next championship it’ll be that type of design
