Yeah his dad is full on Cajun and he had the accent when younger and had to drop it for Hollywood. However, he did ramp of the accent to be more exaggerated and harder to understand, on Ryan Renolds request. Which makes his dialogue coach line a meta joke.
That's probably because most people are used to hearing actual bad Cajun accents from the movies and when they hear one that is pretty authentic it sounds bad.

The scene outside the shwarma shop was not just a throwback to The Avengers, it was also a throwback to the movie Planes, Trains and Automobiles. Ryan Reynolds is a big fan of John Candy and this is just one John Candy Easter egg in this movie. Them sitting on the bench and Wolverine coming back with Wade to meet with his friends is straight out of Planes, Trains and Automobiles.

When logan fights DP in the void, the claws coming out is the most comic accurate thing in any comic book movie ever made. The shape of the claws, the metal housings they come out of, even the three little lines in the housings. Also this wolverine is the most powerful one, he one shotted sabretooth, and Fox's wolverine always had trouble fighting him. Part where blade tells DP he doesn't like him refers to when they both were in blade 3, and rumors were that snipes hated him. Tatum was supposed to be in the gambit movie like around 10 years ago, never got made. It's why the others said the TVA put them in the void, and he mentions how he doesn't know how he got here, because his movie was never made, there was no one for the TVA to get, so he was born in the void. The meta, on top of meta jokes is incredible
No, that's what an Alabaman man with a lot of experience around Cajun accents sounds like after it is passed through an INTENTIONALLY bad comic filter. He himself said he can do it better but they chose to make it worse for the jokes.

@KandiStomper A few logical presumptions. 1) Nicepool doesn't have regeneration, so he never went to get super powers 2) Wade had extreme cancer that was going to kill him. Nicepool is still alive, so the cancer was treated 3) No super powers and no cancer means Vanessa convinced him to keep looking for options. 4) Extreme medical procedures often come with mental health checks, so Wade likely spoke to a therapist during/after the procedures
Seriously, as an all-round Marvel fan I had a BLAST from beginning to end with this movie. It was everything I wanted it to be and catching the comic references was so satisfying.
I know others mentioned Ladypool and Kidpool being voiced by Blake and their daughter, but Babypool is voiced by their new son, and Nicepool is played by Ryan's twin brother Gordon, whom Ryan hates with a passion. Another interesting and also genius facet I noticed in the film. At the end Deadpool had ahold of Matter, and Wolverine Antimatter. Deadpool throughout the course of the film wanted nothing more than to 'matter', where as Wolverine didn't want to 'matter' anymore hence anti-matter, and in the end as the held onto one another found understanding that you can't have one without the other, and through their wants, that they both needed to change their core understandings to succeed. The soundtrack of a generation, innit. You're not the only ones who didn't recognise Pyro, even though the fire-sucking shoulda been a clue. Some of the old guard reprised their roles, some did not. If you watched the Celine music video from Deadpool 2, you would understand the opening song choice for this movie. It's an old joke that he managed to deliver on. 😁
I'm English and have no problem understanding Gambit. Guess hearing Brummies (from Birmingham), Geordies (from Newcastle), Scousers (from Liverpool), Glaswegians (Glasgow) and the other strong regional accents on a almost daily basis has been good training
They didn't go TOO big picture. They were heading somewhere with all of that and then had to pivot when the Kang actor got into all that controversy. And the Infinity Wars/Endgame culmination took a decade to reach. It's only been 5 years since endgame and they had to pivot and change the plan in the last 2 years. I think people keep forgetting how long and spread out those phases actually were.
The problem is that they keep having opportunities to do ANYTHING about it and they keep not fixing anything. They could have done it with MVoM, they could have done it with Eternals. They coulda done it with this movie. They coulda done it with Love and Thunder. They could have done it with GotG 3. They coulda done it with No Way Home. But they keep doing nothing. It is just a bunch of disparate disconnected pieces of varying/dubious quality. NONE of these movies or any of the other projects have had the equivalent to a 'Nick Fury recruiting the Avengers' moments and you can really tell that nobody behind the scenes has had a cohesive vision for the MCU since Endgame. There has been 12 post Endgame movies (13 if count Black Widow, which I don't) and 14 (I think) seasons of various other projects and basically nothing is actually connected yet. By comparison, purposefully laid seeds of the MCU were planted and connected in two movies. The cohesive story telling of the entire pre-Endgame franchise was fully established in only five movies.
Jackman was said to be signed on for more than one film when he agreed to this. Expectation was this and at least Secret Wars. Then Feige said they had no intention of recasting him. Latest rumor is he's signed on for a 10 year deal, but no rumor on how many films. There's also been a long standing rumor Feige wants to give the original X-Men movies' cast a huge send off in Secret Wars, giving them all full accurate costumes and a big comic worthy action sequence. If true, assumptions are Tatum will be added as the team Gambit alongside the Fox cast. 🤞

Believe it or not if u listen to a real Cajun accent it's actually a little harsher then that , channings dad is Cajun and his accent is actually pretty good ! People just aren't used to channing sounding that way so it seems weird.
I love the X-Men movies so much man their my childhood alongside the original sam raimi Spider-Man movies and the christopher nolan batman movies
Enjoyed the reaction and the edit was better than most other channels. 👍
The soundtrack of a generation, innit. You're not the only ones who didn't recognise Pyro, even though the fire-sucking shoulda been a clue. Some of the old guard reprised their roles, some did not. Ryan's wife voiced Ladypool, their daughter voiced Kidpool, their baby voiced Babypool. So many reactors miss the Wrath of Khan reference, makes me feel old every time. Chris relished the opportunity to mouth off for a change.
Big’ol bear hug to ya both, happy holidays!🎄😁👍
Your dog is super chill. So cute haha ❤❤❤
Guys Did you know that Sabretooth at 20:29 is actually Victor Creed? Logan's big brother.. All the years made him so much hairy and Tigery.. That's because he looks like that.. But he is actually Victor from X men Origins; Wolverine..
Totally glad to enjoy your reactions!
This has probably the greatest opening credits in movie history! 😂
The red nightcrawler look a like was Azazel, in the comics he was Nightcrawler's dad.
Wouldnt Nightcrawler be the look a like if he was spawn from his daddy?
Well he was until recent comics where apparently Mystic is the father with another woman, it's weird af
If you watched the Celine music video from Deadpool 2, you would understand the opening song choice for this movie. It's an old joke that he managed to deliver on. 😁
Also, in X2 when Wolverine, Iceman, Rogue and Pyro are escaping the mansion, Pyro turns on the radio in the car, and “Bye, Bye, Bye” is playing. 😂
you can also take it as a reference to X2 during the scene where they escape the assault on the mansion when they get in the car bye bye bye plays
"Sometimes, he sounds French. Sometimes, he sounds Creole. Sometimes American." The only Creole that you are hearing is an authentic Cajun accent.
I'm English and have no problem understanding Gambit. Guess hearing Brummies (from Birmingham), Geordies (from Newcastle), Scousers (from Liverpool), Glaswegians (Glasgow) and the other strong regional accents on a almost daily basis has been good training
No no, Ken, the real question is how do you NOT know classic Avril Lavigne songs? 😂
Fun Fact Lady pool Kid pool and Baby pool are Ryan Reynolds wife and children.
🤞
One of my top 2 favorite movies of the year unfortunately Sonic 3 which I watched last Friday somehow managed to take my number one but I loved this movie so much getting an R Rated Wolverine and the return of so many Fox Movie characters made this amazing for me
more on the accent. i have seen people call it cajun french. its a thing you can google it. to be honest french cajun sounds more right but people and the internet call it cajun french so there it is.
This is where the fun begins!! 🙏🏽💪
Yet that is a real Cajun accent.....
Gambit's a Cajun you're not supposed to be able to understand him.
That intro was GREAT x'd
This whole movie feel like a love letter to the people who grew up on These older movies like daredevil and blade
And even gambit were people wanted magic mike to play as him for some reason🤷🤣
Incredible how such a joke heavy movie can have so much heart.
Blake Lively(Reynolds wife)voices Lady Deadpool
Matthew Mcconaughy as Cowboypool
Olin Inez(Reynolds Daughter)as Kidpool(AKA the dirtiest)
Nathan Fillion as Headpool
LFG! I saw Deadpool & Wolverine in theaters with my best friend and I loved every second of it.
Tatum's accent is actually subdued. Watch one episode of Swamp People, which features real Cajuns. They literally use subtitles.
So Cajun folks sound like all those things bc they are all those things lol. 1:05:56
They are American, gave French influence and are from Louisiana
At the beginning 207 bones for Gossip Girl joke is actually for her wife.. Blake Lively (Ryan Reynold's wife) is at Gossip girl.. That was a romantic joke :D
The dance was done by someone else not Ryan and it was done so good even Ryan in the conference was like....I wish I could dance like him....at first it was thought a tease...but it's real
You cut out the tribute!? Too many tears?
Loved watching deadpool and wolverine reactions ❤❤❤
You should have watched the credits!! There's a really awesome behind the scenes part
24:10 HA! You guys! Your reaction is S-Tier priceless!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
14:45 Superman as Wolverine just feels right. All he needs is a slightly larger widow's peak and is Hugh Jackman's perfect replacement.
Sounded more like Geralt tbh. Far from his Superman role
And he’s already in his 40’s. Plus Feige mentioned they’re not recasting Wolverine for a while. At least not til Hugh is 90 😅
@@alexgonzalez-fn9jb They don't need to replace him if Hugh is onboard for the foreseeable future, I imagine they have him signed on for the next phase which is probably another decade or so, after that who knows.
That is Azazel he is Nightcrawler's father.
Thanks! 🙂
When i first watched this i had to pause it like 2 or three times because i couldnt breathe 🤣🤣
