I think you forgot to add link to those fuji and Kodak presets.. even though I wasn't going to buy.. I thought I would just mention it because you mentioned it in the video.. I'm too poor to buy presets after buying the camera.
Thanks man glad you enjoyed the video! I’d recommend watching lots of tips and tricks videos about the V, since it’s pretty much the same lol they all apply
Can you demo a group photo using pano? Something like a 16mm APS-C lens would. This would be important for indoor group shots where you cannot step back much.
So it's worth it if you decide with your emotions? You like how it looks or you have some kind of nostalgic bond to it? I'd much rather buy the X-S10 because it doesn't have a fixed lens, the screen can flip and it's way cheaper.
V and VI have upgraded lens over earlier models. IBIS and XT5 sensor and processor make the VI worth the extra £200 or £300 over second hand V. In essence the up grade is significant. However the UI is way behind Canon. The X series are really second cameras for experienced users not the much hyped beginners dream kit. Canon R50 is better for that user group.
Hi there! Nice photographs. I'm a brand new Fuji x100v user and I feel I'm missing something here. Hope you could help me a little. I heard so much about film simulation. And I have set mine tp porta. However after shooting any photographs when I transfer the file to my computer I don't see huge "film style" look to those images. Am I doing something wrong? My x100v is set to shoot both jpeg and raw and on porta simulation. I'm confused 😮 what is the wrong
Sims won’t affect the RAW files but in Lightroom they appear in your profiles so you can test out every simulation on the RAW file to see what you like best.
@@ItsTomRich if the don’t appear you may just need to check your Lightroom profile settings to the camera profiles appear. The simulation you actually shoot the jpeg with should imbed the simulation into the RAW file. Don’t import as a DNG as that would make any camera settings disappear.
I never had an actual camera, currently I use 15 Pro Max for shooting everything, and I've heard a lot about x100 series & want to buy it, so is this camera good for a begginer like me?
Yeah, it would be great because you don't have a whole bunch of lenses to change between. It forces you to learn based on that one lens And perfect your Craft. Plus it's so compact you could take it everywhere including when you travel
Definitely agree! I’d say though potentially you don’t need the newest one. Worth looking into seeing if you could find an F or V for a bit cheaper as you’ll still learn a lot!
Hey this may seem random but Does the button on your evf/ovf lever feel loose to you? Also does it spin around? I just got my x100vi and can’t find anyone else with one to compare it to.
Mine is slightly loose (think it’s supposed to be) but no it doesn’t spin. At first I thought it was spinning but actually it’s just very smooth so almost feels like it is 🤣 are you definitely sure it’s spinning?
@@ItsTomRich appreciate the response! Yeh it’s had to tell at first glance 🤣 but the metal disk in the middle is spinning. On one hand I’m kinda relieved you confirmed my suspicions, on the other hand I’m kinda 🤕 thinking about sending it in for a repair that’s not “hindering” its operation right now
Hey Tom, im new to your channel loved the way you go through every details, i want you to please teach about how actually camera works, what all we need to know to get a great pics and all functions that dslr camera have and their uses that phones generally dont have ~new SuB :D please can you?
I wish the hype would die down and people would find another thing to obsess over. Makes me wonder where everyone is getting their extra $/£/€ 1600 or more to pay for a point and shoot camera in 2024.
a camera is like a tool (hammer). someone is creative an can make art with it another one can only dash some nails in the wall. the limit is behind the camera. no matter what brand. use this damm cameras as creative tools and not as fashion objects
Way over-hyped series of cameras. Not a bad camera by any means, but not deserving of its legendary status. As for the fad of "street" photography, I hate to spoil the party, but a lot of it is not very memorable. Sorry to sound negative but some people need a reality check.
Hi guys 🥹🥹🥹 So busy at the moment but trying my best! Hope you all enjoy the video and the photos :)
yes but nobody can get one

Thanks for the great video! In terms of aesthetics, between the Silver and Black models, which do you prefer?
I’m not prefer the black :)
Ace vid and photos Tom 👌🏻 Finally just got my X100VI.. completely new to it. Gonna see what it can do on my trip next week 👀

@@ItsTomRich Oh I will be.. always fun learning a new camera! 📷

Yes I’m probably going to!

I agree the UI does really suck, it’s overly complex without much benefit to any of the complexity

The RAWs won’t ever reflect the film simulation only the JPGs

This is a good tip I didn’t actually know you could do this

The film simulations don’t look like film anyways
How good is it for low light and pro portraits
Great

Alright. I'm gonna go tell my wife that you said I should just go ahead and get it now.
May the odds be in your favour 🫡

@spgldcamero I would first pass take it into some kind of camera shop -preferably one that has display units- just to see what they think
@@ItsTomRich yeh good call
Who uses autofocus what does it feel like In your hand

If you don't need an EVF go for the Ricoh GR III 😉
Might have to test this I’ve heard it’s good
He needs a tilting screen, so X70
The Contax G1/G2 has better “film simulations”
7:50 not the sensors in smartphones are good, but the software.
Agreed but the sensors are getting better and better - obviously not compared to proper cameras but still good

My guy you obviously don't' take pictures in any serious capacity, you make commercials for gear

This is true
Have you been told your hat is on backwards? Just so you know.
🙃🙃
To be honest the xs20 is better than this camera and the V.
