  • Hi, i'm Abe and this is my video about the time i walked the length of the UK with a backpack and my guitar .
In May 2022, after dreaming about it for four years, I started hiking from Lizard Point in Cornwall, England to Cape Wrath, North East Scotland. This was a distance of 1180 miles and was an alternative to the Lands End to John o' Groats (LeJog) route.
This was the first time i had ever attempted anything like this and despite all the training and preparation, nothing could have prepared me for the incredible adventure that unfolded. There were setbacks, lots of rain, some sun, injury, brilliant interactions with strangers, lots of sheep, lots of trails, lots of fun, lots of food, and lots of up's. In addition, i managed to raise over £2000 for Blood Cancer.
After Covid, i realised that now was the time to start doing the things that i really wanted to do, so with a backpack, tent, and a baby 6 string guitar, i gradually made my way north. I had given myself 80 days to complete the walk but despite an injury, managed to complete it in 72 days.
Prior to the walk i had been writing songs about going on a big adventure and these songs really motivated me to take on this challenge. During the walk i wrote a few more songs about what i was experiencing and then after the walk, i wrote a few more. In 2023 i set about recording these songs and have recently released a self-recorded/produced album named 'The Seeker'. The music featured in this video are the 11 songs from that album which you can find and listen to, on all the usual streaming sites (here is the spotify link) -open.spotify.c...
My route took me from Lizard point, up across the north of Cornwall along the South West Coast path (stage 1), into Exmoor National Park, through Somerset and then into Wales (stage 2). I then meandered through Shropshire, the peak District, the Pennines (stage 3), into Yorkshire, before arriving in Gretna Green, Scotland (stage 4). I then turned West and walked through the Galloway Forest and the Ayrshire Coast before hoping across to the Isle of Arran (stage 5) and then back towards Loch Lomond via the Cowal Way. I then jumped on the West Highland Way (stage 6), the Great Glen Way, and then sections of the Cape Wrath Trail before reaching the lighthouse at Cape Wrath (stage 7). If you want to see my maps and trails of the adventure, please check out my all trails link in my bio which provides all the days, the routes, and the miles covered.
I hope you enjoy this video and that it inspires and motivates fellow wannabe adventurers to take the leap and embark on your own challenge or adventure.
I plan to upload more videos of other hikes and adventures I have taken over the past two years, so if you are keen to see some more, please hit the subscribe button.
    Thanks for watching.
