How My Fortunes Changed In 24hrs! 🍀LUCKY DAY!🍀

- Day 158. 41km (80578kms 7 yrs)
Well-hidden in the shed I rose with the sun packing down quickly and was almost on my way before 07:00 when I discovered my front tyre to be squishy. Without water I pumped it and planned to fix it at the first cafe. But 7kms on it still felt solid so I elected to delay repair again until I reached town, where I hoped to stay at the Maison De Jeunes.
With the wind behind me and a good flat road I arrived late morning into the gorgeous village of Mahdia to discover the auberge was full. I’d overlooked it was the weekend and it was of course the actual purpose of these establishments to house students travelling to play sports. I tried a few more hotels but found them closed, too expensive, or full. But a couple seated at a nearby cafe saw me being turned away by once such place and invited to stay in their B&B! And oh my goodness what a place! I scrubbed my filthy self twice to be sure not to mark the beautiful white sheets and towels before hopping in the little pool in the courtyard to cool off.
It was so nice to wander the village’s narrow lanes and alleyways without being encumbered by a bicycle. Being Friday the mosques were busy and the village was alive so pushing a bike through all this activity would have been a proper nuisance.
In the evening as I now had wifi I was able to fulfil my pledge to Bilel by joining a call to his outdoor activities group. They were shown some of my vlogs after which I did a Q&A on my bicycle trip around the world, and received feedback after the event that it was inspiring especially to the younger women in the group. This sort of commendation - which I bashfully shy away from in general - warms my heart.
And I was able to join the call only because I wasn’t in my tent somewhere, thanks to the generous owners of the beautiful Dar El Mahdia

Great luck. Enjoying your videos. I like it that they are eight minutes long. It makes them easier to watch, and you don't have to spend hours editing. Thank you.
Thanks! 8 minutes is the magic cut-off for a mid roll add so it’s a revenue thing. Glad you enjoy ☺️
@@helsonwheels Very savvy! Enjoying your trip through Greece at the moment.
@neilpenny5475 ah Greece never disappoints! Have had two stints there; three months mid-Covid, and one month this year ☺️ 🇬🇷
