The most common cause of P0171 error for A12XER and A14XER engines.
A simple check is to take it down and see if you can blow air through it. If you can, it is bad and must be replaced.

Hi! You have to read the error code with a tester to see what causes the light to turn on.
I just replaced this on my car, how did you remove the top from the rest? I've tried using a stanley blade but it doesn't seem to do anything

Your problem is the charcoal canister, it is saturated with vapors. The main reasons are either you often fill up the tank over the limit or the vapor purge valve no longer works and no longer draws vapor from the canister.

Emptying the tank now it won't help, too late. The tank should never be filled more after the gun cutts off. First you should check if the valve is working properly and if it does, you need to take off the charcoal canister and try to dry it or replace it with a good one. If the valve doesn't work, replace it and hope that after a few days the problem starts to fix itself.

Hola, esta válvula hace que el ralenti con el coche parado suba entre 1000 y 2000 vueltas y grnere el fallo p0171?
Si el sensor de oxígeno está bien, sí, estos son los síntomas, puedes culpar a la válvula. También puede ser una fuga de vacío.
Si fuese fuga de vacio, el ralenti seria continuo? A mi hay dias k no lo hace y otros dias conduciendo, si paro, se me queda entre 1000 y 1500 ahora (hice limpieza de mariposa y ahora no sube tanto).
¿Qué tipo de motor tienes? Su problema parece una fuga de vacío
@@CorsaDForever hola, al final le cambié la válvula evap y ya no tengo ralentí inestable. Siempre se mantiene como cuando lo compre entre 600-800.

fuel vapors from the fuel tank will over time harden the rubber Bush but it will still works as it should until it completely fails throwing a p0171 code.
Where do i find the valve on the car ? Its not the one behind the intake, there must be another place for it.
What engine you have? XER engines have it above the intake. XEP engines have it behind the intake, left side as you look.
@@CorsaDForever I figured it out, i still have the old valve on the car and they modified it when you need a new one, opel did an update on the braket and tubes.
but i still cant figure out why it throws a faultcode 458.
It's something electrical, wiring, or a bad solenod in the valve.
Is that thing supposed to ne rattling all the time.coz its constantly rattling on my car
It is normal to rattle most of the time, even if is good or bad.
Why does it sound so growly?.i can hear its operation from cockpit. Is it any solution to cut its sound?
No. Maybe it's too loud because it may be about to fail.
