Brake Better Than Stock 1978-88 G-Body Cars - Episode 3
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 вер 2024
- This video is the third part of the brake series for 1978-88 Gbody cars. This episode we talk about the best 14inch and bigger brake options better than your worn out and old / horrible stopping factory brakes. these are the best extreme setups that do require modifications and will not just bolt up with no fabrications.
* All options in this episode of the series require longer than stock length wheel studs and wont fit with 14inch oem wheels. Must upgrade to at least 18inch wheels minimum for the front brake and or rears brake setup*

One brake setup that didn't get talked about but is a good budget minded is cadillac Ats & Cts v brembo brakes. perfect if you want to run big brakes but run 17inch or 18inch wheels compared to most of the brake setups in this video are for 18inch or bigger wheels.
I installed the rear disc brake setup from a 97 Camaro (11.6 inch rotors) on my 87 Monte. 15 inch rims still clear as long as you have about 4 inches of backspacing on the rims. All it takes is the rear bracket from the 97 Camaro and you're good to go, e-brake and all.
Nice video sir!
Appreciate it
Im running 1998 up 2wd Blazer/Jimmy 4 wheel disc setup. It will lock all 4 wheels. CHEAP!! Locks the brakes. Only need 15" wheels. You dont need huge expensive breaks unless you're road racing/autocross or sub 11s 1/4 mile.
I'm running them on an el Camino with a mild cam 350. Runs 8.5 in the 1/8th mile.
I have included in this comment and the description section with links to parts talked about in this video if your interested in buying any of the parts.

What rear end are you using in your monte carlo?
Is that a matching elderado booster as well or a G body booster??
Gbody booster
Will the rear end of a 05 Cadillac Escalate EXT fit on a 79 Oldsmobile cutlass supreme?
No it will not fit and it won't be the right wheel bolt pattern either.
