no , it was a dried chickpea, but if you soak it first , then boil briskly for 5 minutes atleast, turnoff fire without opening and let it until totally cool down, reheat again, 5-10 minutes, you already have a soft chick pea, i do that in other dry beans too like mungbean, and even in meat
