Obviously the "brother" isn't very smart. His brother was NOT the cause of the shooting. The passenger was, as stated and viewed, in this video. I commend this officer's actions. When you are fired on from a vehicle that you have stopped even if it's a traffic infraction and you are hit, all you have time to do is to return fire at the threat to save your own life. He did not have to see who had the gun to know he had been injured by a GSW from inside that vehicle. The driver is supposed to have control and dominion over his occupants. These same people used to be his friends. Well, they were criminals so his decision was to hang around criminals. That's not the officer's fault. Hate to say it but either way he was going to have a bad day any way you look at it. Think about it, if he had exited the car when the officer asked him to, he would have had an opportunity to inform the officer that he had been taken hostage and that the additional suspects had guns. He would have still been alive right? So he died because he did not want to be a snitch. But you want to blame the officer? He chose his path of life long time ago. When you have no idea what you're talking about, you say things like this, it could be from emotions as well. The officer could have been dead within a nanosecond if the bullet was an inch or two to the left or right, missing his finger and going into hid chest. Returned fire is to the general vicinity of the threat, which was behind the driver. The driver, complicit in the crime or not, is guilty of the same crime for harboring a criminal. This "news" channel and specifically whoever chose that script of dialogue from the reporter need to be fired immediately
Yup
Sick of family and the media making this felon sound like a good man …let’s see his record ! It’s obvious they shot the police first !!! This cop was defending himself !!! How can anyone dispute that he refused commands to exit the vehicle and the thugs shot first !
It doesn’t matter if it’s edited as long as it shows the basics of what happened. Passenger shot police officer and he returned fire. It’s right in video. The officer asked him to step out and he had a chance to do so if he was held “hostage”. He didn’t.
We say in Spanish: "Tell me who you go with and I'll tell you who you are". If he was a good man and afraid for his life from the passengers, he should took that opportunity to exit the vehicle immediately when the police asked. Admitting that was smoking marihuana and hanging with that kind of people, I don't think he was that innocent man that the family said. I'm glad the police man was able to manage the situation. Please be understanding if you see a policeman approached to you with his hand on the holster, as you see, they deal with this kind of situations everyday.
TIP: When you get pull over, roll the windows down, turn the car off, turn on the dome light and everyone inside place the hands on the steering wheel and headrest. The police will ask you why you do that and tell them that you want to be sure he feels safe, that you appreciate what they do for the community. He will appreciate that, therefore you may get a break on the traffic violation. It works for me almost every time.
Very well said
Fr , always turn on your interior lights and roll the windows if you get pulled over. Help the officer out, make everyone comfortable. no one likes to walk up to cars w black out tint not knowing someone’s mindset, especially at night. Make the stop easier
Medal for the Cop. Well done Sir.
If he would have complied he would have exited the vehicle when told, then he wouldn’t be in the kill zone.
I hate to throw shade but kinda sounds like a family trying to capitalize and win some money in a wrong doing proceeding. The driver is hardly a hostage when he refuses to step out. And when your vehicle passenger shoots a cops finger off.. I hate to be blunt.. but choose your company better. Cuz your PASSENGER put the driver in the line of fire. Very sorry for that family none the less.
I saw the full clip if they didnt shoot at the cop there wouldnt have been any issue
You can literally see the officer's bloody hand from the cam. What's the family upset about? Or just trying for a money grab? Cockroaches seem to find each other and Barbosa found that from his friend Alex Garcia.
Hanging out with the wrong people you’re accountable for their actions if they’re shooting out of YOUR car.
Well done to the officer! Stayed in the fight despite having his shooting hand shot up
Yes it is a shame he shot Barbosa initially but that was due to crossfire from the front passenger shooting at him with Barbosa between them as the gunfight broke out. His intention wasn’t to kill Barbosa but the threat that was shooting at him. The gunman even landed a bullet on the officer’s finger firing the first shot. The officer was defending himself from a deadly threat and Barbosa was in the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong people. Very unfortunate. Condolences and prayers out to the family.
You're right, but once ordered outside the vehicle then exit the vehicle and wait for the officer orders...
When pulled over, turn your ignition off and hands on steering wheel that will relax the officer when he/she approaches you and showing that respect might even let you go off with a simple warning
They honestly be under a lot of pressure, condolences to Barbosa's family thou it could happen to any of us.
Agree that was his mistake hanging out with the wrong people.
Show me your friends, I'll show you, your future, -Marc Mero.
What i hate is that the family clains that the officer shot firts, lies, the other guy shot the officer firts, thags why the officers hands blead in the police activity video
Uuuu I disagree with that statement sorry but that cop had right to blast everyone in that vehicle why would you say barbosa was innocent and was just heading to church or somthing. ???? Get a grip bud after the cop gets shot it’s open season sorry to say but you are totally delusional like are you kidding me…. Wow one of the dumbest UA-cam comments I have seen in a long time..
Wasn’t truly officers fault, he shot in defense not knowing where he was shooting, blame the friend not the officer.
"They complied the whole time"
........... okkk 🤣
They did especially the driver but then the idiot decides to risk everyone’s life and shoot at the officer.
Shup up skonka
@@mr.starly2423 really? Cuz even in the editted video "give me the key..."
"Why?"(fails to give him the keys)
"Ok step on out of the vehicle"
Does not step out... this is compliance? He smells marijauna and suspects he has some on him, he admits to smoking it. So theres more than one reason to request he step out. Its irrelevant if the driver did comply w everything if anyone else in the vehicle is not that does stand to reason that theres noncompliance. Further, Id live to hear exactly how ya figure the driver was being compliant. Cuz he kept going to his pockets(which anyone w half a brain should know ya shouldnt do at that moment) and stopped when the cop told him not to? Hes acting sketchy... keeps going to his pockets... smells drugs...he has his papers all in his lap in a vehicle where they are attempting to conceal something... where did the cop err? And how was there compliance? Filarious
He was arguing with the officer not showing any time of use of force know the difference dummy. Cant Judge someone for someone else’s actions
Do you all not know how to read?
The company we keep. Wrong place, at the wrong time, with the wrong people. My condolences to the families of all involved and wish the officer a speedy recovery.
Look at his cool guy tattoos he's probably just as much of a thug his company is just like him
He didn’t get out of the car when he was asked to do, so my question is how is that complying with an officer loool
Any person have to respet police , all the way be Smart
This is justified !
Officer did a great job!
It doesn’t matter why he got pulled over. The bottom line is that they shot the officer and tried to kill him. They took the room temperature challenge and lost.
One person shot at the officer and it wasn’t the driver. If it were some kids in the back seat would you be saying this?
@@thehendleys1 if they were shooting at the officer, then yes.
@@JohnDoe-du6yi no, one guy was shooting , and it still doesn’t answer my question
@@thehendleys1 probably yes this people think like that, not value for life prolly a kid no more than 18
"You're only as good as the company you keep".
Teach Barbosa's kids that, so they don't end up like their father.
Unfortunately if it is true that the driver did not shoot, then he was just at the wrong place wrong time with the wrong people the officer had no way of telling who was all the deadly threat and acted in the moment
El policia debería recibir alguna sanción yo diría
Another thing, if he had gotten out of the car when ordered to, he'd be alive today. Another reason to listen to commands.
looks like police did his job without even looking at unedited video.
the fact that he took them out after being shot in his hand is awesome....now that's gun control
We need more officers like this.
If the family really thinks he was aiming at the driver, they are dumb asf, he was just in the crossfire
Well done by those brave officers! Keep up the good work.
Had the driver been "complying the whole time"...he would alive. When the passenger opened fire on the officer...all bets were off. He brought that heat on himself because he was stalling trying to figure out a way to get out of that situation.
He is not a victim, he made bad life decisions.
In fact, the driver if he didn't die, could have been charged with the death of his friend on the grounds of felony murder, depending on the laws in that state.
Everything in the jails, prisons, and body cams should be live streamed automatically this is our money, taxes, and country.
That makes literally no freaking sense what that boy just said I mean is he as high as his uncle was on the traffic stop? Wow a miracle that officer made it alive
"I Dont understand why the officer would shoot at the man shooting the officer-"
Rewatch the video and slow it down for you because he didn’t say that. You might trying to mislead people or just plain dumb.
@@mr.starly2423 thats what he said thug..you just get out?
@@mr.starly2423 3:48
@@jquest43 100% justified shooting but you're lying man. That is not what he said. You're picking and choosing pieces to fit how you want.
The nephew is an idiot and you're a liar.
@@user-ef6cz9cx3ggfy
Don't hang out with thugs if youre such a kind, upstanding citizen... I am just glad the officer is ok
My gosh these people are RIDICULOUS! Dude really said his uncle was 100% compliant?!?! He wasn’t at all compliant!! And it’s BEYOND clear who shot first!
If the driver was scared of the passenger, he would’ve gotten out of the vehicle. I’m not buying that story.
Guy pulls gun, shoots cop first, officer returns fire “while wounded” I say great job officer, man needs a medal
