    My wife and kid's eczema was always worse in the winter than in summer, when they were out in the sun every day. Then Covid hit, and I made them all take D3 supplements every day, I guess 3 1/2 years or so ago now, which they have continued until today. Since that time I have not heard them complain one single time about their eczema, because it's gone! Interesting coincidence.

    Hello Dr. Jin Sung!
    Thank you for your wise words!
    Does Vitamin D medication help with lack of sun or is this a myth? And if I am very pale, how much Vitamin D do I lack and how can I fix this?

    • @DrJinSung
      @DrJinSung  6 місяців тому +4

      Hi Regina,
      Vitamin D is actually a steroid hormone which is produced in the body from sun exposure. There are other benefits of sun exposure thn just vitamin D; such as stress reduction, increase serotonin and improved sleep.
      To answer your question you can take 5000IU of vitamin D plus vitamin K but also make sure to get some sun exposure daily if you can. 15-20 minutes per day would be great.
      Here is great product. One capsule per day after a meal. www.metagenics.com/d3-5000-k

    I heard the other day that synthetic vitamin d is not good for us. It makes sense that it isn’t but can anyone argue this or recommend a product that is best? There’s no way I could get enough sunlight to up my levels.

      You just wanna get good sourced vitamin D. I would say look for something with a lot of good reviews that’s decently affordable. I got enough vitamin D to take 10,000iu for 6 months great quality 22$.

    • @DrJinSung
      @DrJinSung  6 місяців тому +7

      The studies reviewed used 1000IU to 1600 IU. I recommend up to 5000IU with K2. If you are using higher dosages check you vitamin D levels periodically to make any adjustments. I like to see 60-80.

      If 5000 IU does that change the amount of K? I guess what I'm asking is if the K always remains the same or is there a ratio of K to D? Thank you!
