    Wow what an odd synchronicity that just occurred lol. we both uploaded AP videos within 10 minutes of each-other. i totally understand the concept of this video.
    i think the fact that these occurrences being by default fully subjective to each of us while obviously the largest factor, may be the reason it's hard to tell the two apart since you've been experiencing both for so long. which is impressive in its own right.
    I only recently discovered them & therefore for me at least, being in an LD versus entering into an AP are vastly different experiences and always have been... Here's a thought I've been having recently though so I'd love to hear your thoughts on it man, how would you view this theory;
    I find it potentially possible for them both to be part of the same realm. However, I would argue the notion of awareness itself (being the result of some plane of consciousness) as a factor that could in turn, place LD's in the astral realm, versus a psychological state. In theory LDs are just more-so experienced as a weaker, less controllable & immersive version of an AP. Just an idea I've been toying with. Let me know what you think haha

      LD is AP limited by the belief that you're in a LD. You can create while projecting, this is the same as lucid dreaming only the belief is different while experiencing it.

    in my experience there's definitely something different about OOBE's. The feeling of "separation" you get when your "consciousness is leaving your body" is unique, it's nothing like dreaming. At least for me, when I'm in that "mind awake/body asleep" state, my body feels weird and I'm fully aware that I'm laying in my bed. Then suddenly I feel my limbs levitating, like there's no gravity.

    • @jotaguisc

      The Next Big Thing what science regards as “real” is just what they are able to perceive and mesure. I think the real question here is if OBE’s are just some sort of “brain bug dream”, or it is ACTUALLY our consciousness experiencing separation from our body, which can lead to several other questions.

    I've been lucid dreaming and astral projecting a lot, just like you. There is a stark difference between lucid dreaming and astral projecting, in fact a scary difference. I don't think it's appropriate to say that just because you can't explain how the jump from lucid dreaming to astral projection works, means that they are one in the same. They are not. Lucid dreaming is becoming aware of dreaming while in a dream. While in a dream you are seemingly plopped down into a random setting and experiencing the setting like just any other dream, except you are aware of it. When you astral project you fuckin float out of your body (have some AP experiences under my belt, along with a lot of friends) in a familiar place - where ever you fell asleep. I have even had experiences where I see people that are AWAKE and see them walking around, doing their mundane tasks, and have confirmed that THAT is what they were doing and where they were while I was projecting. The differences are scary. To me, lucid dreaming isn't at all as impressive as projecting. You just realizing you are dreaming - not crazy. While projecting, I have to vibrate through what seems like a wormhole of light, burst out of it with a deafening high pitch frequency playing, and I float out of my body into a world that is somewhat a copycat of this physical one. Lucid dreaming and Projecting may be related, but NOT the same thing, at all.

    • @Septurez
      @Septurez 8 років тому +31

      Not to mention how much more aware you are when projecting. There is a higher sense of clarity on what's going on, like if you were awake. While when dreaming things dip in and out of what makes sense, you don't always keep lucidity, etc.

    I've been astral projecting for 14 years and I've had lucid dreams here and there throughout my entire life. If anyone wants any advice on how to achieve either of these states, feel free to ask. I know that astral projection and lucid dreaming feel very different from one another, but I definitely feel that there can be a connection as I've experienced this cross-over that he mentions in the first part of the video. Often times, I'll start out in an OBE then it will gradually drift into a dream-state. The main difference is level of awareness. In a lucid dream, dream logic definitely applies and even though I'm aware that I'm dreaming there's still a fuzziness and malleability about the experience. In astral projection, normal logic applies and it feels 99% as real as waking reality. The experience is also much less malleable. Again, let me know if you have questions! :D

      Sebastian Holder I have a few on my channel. I have one titled "How to Induce Sleep Paralysis" which is the first step. Basically the idea is to wake yourself up during REM sleep and stay very still. The other video I recommend is "How to Have an OBE" which covers the second step of the process where you actually disconnect from the body. So, you can check those out if you like. But if you have any specific questions, feel free to ask those too. :D

    • @TheDiamondNet
      @TheDiamondNet 8 років тому +5

      Adino Tugwell With regard to SP and OBE it has varied over the years. When I was about 16 and 17, I'd have sleep paralysis several times a week and maybe one of those would result in an OBE. During my "dry spells" I've gone as much as three month in between episodes of sleep paralysis. Most of the time, if I'm not actively trying to get sleep paralysis, I get it about once every two weeks with every other time resulting in an OBE. Currently, my last bout with sleep paralysis was a couple weeks ago, but OBE is a bit more difficult for me to reach now because I'm co-sleeping with my toddler son which tends to keep me in a lighter stage of sleep and interfere with leaving the body. Lucid dreaming, I had cultivated a practice of back when I was 15, and I would get them several times a week back then when I was actively trying. But now it only happens every now and then. I just got one a few weeks ago though, but it didn't pan out to much because I forgot I was dreaming after a few minutes of having realized. That's the worst. XD But I currently don't actively practice daily to get it now, but I welcome it as it comes.

  • @bdawggification

    Honestly, I feel astral projection and lucid dreaming are completely different, or at least from my experiences. I've also had episodes of sleep paralysis and "astral projection" since I was a kid, not having a word for it.. I've also been able to lucid dream since i was a kid.
    For me lucid dreaming is a dream where I am lucid and have control of the dream, and thats it. Astral projecting is something completely different for me. During astral projection I can feel sensations that i've never experienced before, things that would seem impossible for me to make up with my mind alone. Entering sleep paralysis I normally experience the feeling of an violent wind accompanied by a whooshing sound (sometimes a buzzing) and an intense electrical sensation throughout my body as if I'm being shocked but not in a painful way. It almost feels like some weird energy entering my body starting from my head down. I really don't know how to explain it. As a kid not really having the words for it it felt like i was being "possessed" and the experiences were so crazy and scary after "leaving my body" it left me not able to sleep for literally days when it first starting happening.I slept with my light on for a few years,every night, not that I was a kid that was scared of much quite the opposite actually and It could still sometimes be somewhat frightening, sometimes amazing, always unpredictable and different. I'm now able to induce it, from time to time. It's definitely had a big impact on me.
    Funny, I often describe the experiences as being "realer than real". I've not yet had the opportunity to try DMT so I cant compare my experience to a DMT trip, hopefully one day, if I ever get the chance. Reading through others experiences with DMT my experiences with "astral projecting" seem quite similar in some ways, which probably sounds crazy to you.
    Searching on the internet I haven't really come across experiences of other people having sleep paralysis and "astral projections" with the same intensity and detail and weirdness in the way I've experienced. I'd like to go into detail about my experiences more, but with this wall of text people probably haven't made it this far into my ramblings, also its hard to even put it into words. I don't even know.. maybe what I experience isn't even astral projection at all. I don't know what else to call it though, any thoughts?

    I have had those exact dream/projection state of mind experiences myself since I was 8 years old and now i'm 53. The flying part where you are going up and start coming down not being able to maintain levitation, I've had alot of those, then there are times when I am showing off to my friends as if i was dreaming about being able to levitate by accessing the yawning feeling in my head to enable me to go up in the air. As for the remote viewing my auntie used to tell me that to get to that degree of state of mind requires practice like an exercise. there are different states of mind regarding sleep time, dreaming state time, and real dreaming time and real time projection. I'm not knowledgeable on which one I am involved in at the time except i know its not the real time dreaming state which I believe takes alot of effort in exercise practice to obtain, like studying for an exam by practicing going into the astral projection state of mind and exercising on opening your eyes in real time while in astral mode and being consciously aware of time at that moment, whereas sleep dreaming you have no conscious awareness of time, are you kinda following me? Sorry I just needed to share what I've been thru cause all my friends or acquaintances haven't a clue to what I'm trying to explain to them or relate to it like I got from your video. I have also done astral projection and lucid dreaming.
    The fact that you cross over from one state to the other maybe means you return to your body and start a lucid dream, or that you travel from the astral plane to the plane where your thoughts become manifest.
    And those stories that you told of when you were tripping on dmt or something and you said to the entities that you met during that time "this time I'll remember etc" but you doubt it afterwards. What seems to me from all of this is that you ought to trust yourself more, something this society has been conditioning us not to do.
    Mainstream society and science have a problem accepting these things because of a stuff like:
    having an inherent prejudice about studies on this matters. If a study on astral projection comes out where there the subject gets right a number with several digits without moving and all wired up with brain resonances, they call it its fringe science, pseudoscience, he got it by luck, they were faking it, etc. Its comic and sad at the same time. There is at least one on youtube, "Scientific proof Astral Projection...".
    Another consequence of this prejudice is that it prevents more study and research on this matter.
    Another reason is that they look at the evidence separately, not seeing the big picture that it all paints together, not just about OBE, it's synchronicity, psychic phenomena, rainbow light bodies, aliens, cryptids, paranormal activity, remote viewing, opening the 3rd eye, past life regression, reports of blind people seeing on near death experiences, psychadelic experiences, native legends and it goes on and on.
    All of it has tons of evidence, they can't all be fake. And also the fact that some people don't want this to be known, it's really as the lyrics of the song Uprising go.

Trying to scream, but can’t, tall dark figures picking me up out of bed and dropping me down a well, free fall feeling to eternity. Repeated dream loops, over and over again. I read that certain low frequency sounds can cause sleep paralysis.

    well idk, i had many lucid dreams in the past, but never had an "astral projection" until one day i came back tired as usual and went to sleep, then i "woke up" because of freaking vibrational sounds in my ears that was soooo fckling loud i thought that my head explode or smth. then it got quiet and i started seeing my room, i thought i woke up so i tried to sit, and i noticed that something is strange i felt heavy, and light sources from the street light my room way brighter than normal, then i noticed that i dont breath and then i realised that its not my physical body and i instantly thought that i died and that im a ghost now, i was freaked out and in a blink of an eye i felt some magnetic force pulling me back to the body. then i woke up for real in my paralyzed body, thinking about what the fuck just happened ( at the time i had no knowledge of astral projection). When i regained full body controll i calmed down and went to do some internet research... :D THAT SHIT WAS NOTHING LIKE LUCID DREAM. but ye idk, maybe the mind just randomly created this experience for no reason, it randomly occured few more times, but i was afraid of it so everytime i heard vibrations and shifting sound frequencies in my ears i would start thinking about waking up and stopping it. Now when i want to try and do by following some guide, it doesnt work... =/ But idk to me its big difference, but i guess i experienced just a glimpse, but still then, why would it feel so different and so new/scary even if i had many lucid dreams. In lucid dreams i just feel like safe af because i know everything is in my mind. but that shit was smth different, i was aware of stuff, but idk it didnt felt like im inside my mind/consciousness. that is the difference for me i guess...

    I've had similar experiences as a kid very frequently (not so much anymore), but when I realized that I was dreaming I always began to try to float, like "oh yeah this is possible here!". It was always very challenging to keep flying it was only a temporary gentle gliding but I would begin to descend shortly after jumping. Gave me chills to hear you explain something that I've experienced and thought to be unique to myself.

    • @victoriaperea667

      this is exactly how I fly in my dreams. its more like being in zero gravity than flying. Sometimes this happening is what makes me realize I'm dreaming and begin lucid dreaming in the first place. A lot of times if I dream that I'm being chased I'll start to run on all fours in an attempt to grab at the ground and propel myself forward faster until I ultimately launch myself into the air.

    Only guy i've found on youtube who had a lucid dreaming/astral projection experience and is not just straight up saying that "Yeah i left my body and it was life changing" but rather questioning whether astral travel even is real. Kudos to you for not fooling yourself and your audience into believing in this stupid phenomenon. Because as you said, there surely would have been quite solid proof of astral travel if as many people experienced it as I see on youtube comment sections and other places

      My friend, i hope you don't get offended if i say this, but instead of just blindly dismissing it as a "stupid phenomenon", on purely theoretical and subjective grounds, why don't you try to leave your body and verify it yourself?
      There are a few major differences between astral projection and dreams that he did not address:
      Blind people who go through OBEs are able to see, even if they were born blind ( a good example would be the 21 cases in Dr.Kenneth Ring's NDE study)
      Astral projectors are able to accurately report events in real time, even if such things are happening miles away( the late parapsychologist Scott Rogo was in a conference trip when he decided to visit his roommate back home by astral projecting. He discovered his roommate invited a stranger, which he confirmed when he came back from the trip weeks later. Knowing skeptics are not very trusting of anecdotes, he provided 8 different methods).
      There are several different techniques to astral project, like Mr.Rogo's Leaving the Body or Robert Monroe's books. Or you can search a tutorial. But just sitting back and asking for "proof" isn't going to do much. Can you take a piece of ectoplasm and put it on a silver platter? You can do the friend test, for example. Even this UA-camr agreed that it is a wonderful idea.

    I appreciate this video. I've never done DMT but have been lucid dreaming for well over a decade and a coworker and I had a lengthy discussion about the two last night as we were working in the sleep lab. 99% of my lucid dreams start from sleep paralysis and when I am going into sleep paralysis I get that constant droning sound that you feel more than hear and it can ebb and flow threatening to cease if I move or even feel too much emotion. Once it has washed over me completely I stand up and force my eyes open only to see that my body is laying in bed still. I'll walk through my house and out the front door onto a street. The street isnt mine but it also is the same every time... and from there I can begin my dreams and sort of carry forward to live out a good time.
    All of that taken into consideration my coworker asked me if I had ever done DMT and stated that it sounded very similar to how a DMT trip could start. I don't see the trippy lines or anything but thinking that DMT is produced by the human body naturally I wonder if there is some connection there. Not a full on trip. But more as a median into lucidity. I wont argue that lucid dreams aren't the same thing as a full on DMT trip. How could I. But that can't rule out the idea that lucid dreams aren't a result of DMT being produced at a higher rate than normal in the body.
    I would love to do a PSG on someone as they ludic dream and then another on someone as they do DMT and just see what's going on different both in the EEG and to see how closely they come REM in either scenario. It's a question that shouldn't be super hard to at least try and answer :). Maybe if I acquire more schooling and more letters after my name one of these days.

The government has been using astral projection/Remote viewing (and other psychic things) in their operations as proven by the declassified releases by the C.I.A. Anyways, the government doesn't tell the people everything that's going on in the world. I don't understand how me saying "Who's to say they aren't?" automatically conveys the idea that I'm "retarded".

      Occult Sciences Uhh...no not really, since it's totally natural in my experience. It's only taboo in the sense that using it solely for personal gain at the expense of others or manipulating "fate" to bend to your specific desires will definitely reflect badly on you eventually in some way if not abstract from the original abuse or manipulation of the knowledge gained. What I've gathered in my life of having dreams/visions etc, some which have come true and others that have given deep insight into aspects of my own as well as other people's lives, is this; You will only be granted TRUE success within the realms of spiritual work if you are coming from a place of PURE intent. And I mean, holding your own ego/self above your lowly desires. Clairvoyance as I see it, is only regarded as taboo to those who would use universal knowledge in an attempt to see themselves in a better social/ecenomical/romantic etc position than they currently are, basically, using divine knowledge for superficial personal gain without the intention to use their understandings of the workings of the universe to better the existence of all persons/things around them. (all in my opinion and experience of course) - I hope that helps :)

    maybe your dmt experience doesn't relate to your astral projection experiences because you haven't been to the higher dimensions on your own... When you smoke dmt you automatically get taken to the higher dimensions with ease.. But to do that on your own would defs take a long time and a lot of practice. Im just saying this because i was watching a video on ryan cropper.. and he was talking about how smoking dmt wasnt as crazy as everyone cracked it up to be, only because he had entered those higher dimensions already on his own. So it was kinda like going into the same state when he smokes dmt... I honestly think that you just haven't had enough astral projection experience to make this kind of assumption. I really cant either... But from what ive heard from others experiences, when you get deeper into astral projection.. things get just as real.. just as intense as a dmt trip... Im just wondering why i should agree with your opinion rather than Ryans opinions. You both seem like youve had your own experiences, yet you both preach the opposite.. I think its likely that the DMT dimensions are reachable through bringing information back. I could never astral project until after my first dmt experience. And honestly, when i was about to astral project, it felt like the comeup of a dmt trip. My body was buzzing really fast and got louder and louder until my brain decided to explode. At least thats what it felt like. And then it feels like you get shot out of your body.. I find it to be the same thing but i am not yet able to access the higher dimensions because i am simply a noob at AP so far. Haha in my eyes what the fuck do you think monks are doing haha. They are probably so used to those higher dimensions that they would never even think to stop meditating haha. (This is just a different perspective, not fact)

      i saw a couple of his recent videos and i think Adam is having a hard time beliving that what he sees in the trips are not real!.. i have been there with very little experience and it horrible. you dont trust the "truth" of a trip or not able to tell the difference. almost like the inception movie but not the fucked up part when you dont know if real life is real life haha..

    • @Tiziano182
      @Tiziano182 8 років тому +2

      so the BIG question!!!! WHAT PART OF THE TRIP IS THE TRUE EXPERIENCE OF DIMENTIONS AND WHAT IS CREATED BY YOUR MIND?.. (obviously the pink elephants are not real. but.. you know)

    • @leggesterlegacy1496
      @leggesterlegacy1496 8 років тому +6

      well anything thats in your expirience is real whether you like it or not. But whats created by your mind is based on your beliefs. If you believe a certain way, thats how you will think. thats what you will believe. If your watching a lot of horror movies.. youll probably be likely to think about scary situations. And thats why people get scared of shadow beings when the try to astral project, is because their mind is creating something based on thoughts you previously had.. But if you realize that, you can realize the fake thoughts, and the real information youre letting flow.. The real part of a trip should be obvious to the user. Its whatever you took from it. Your life is real no matter what youre thinking, so taking certain chemicals can help you sort these thoughts and bring more clarity to yourself. But if your focused on bad thoughts and you dont want to admit to yourself its real, then oyur gonna be stuck. You gotta let those thoughts flow before they can leave. The experience of dimensions just comes from different chemicals that can make you go deeper. One of them for example is dmt. It takes you straight to the higher dimensions with the higher beings. If you havent taken dmt theres really no way for me to make this clear to you though. Its usually clear for the user at the time of consumption. But a lot of the information can be lost in that 10-15 mins of tripping balls haha

    • @leggesterlegacy1496
      @leggesterlegacy1496 8 років тому +2

      but you can reach higher dimensions in the astrals. You just have to practice and not focus on using drugs to get you there.. You gotta make the spiritual journey to get there. I think its possible to get to the same levels as dmt naturally.. my opinion though

    • @Tiziano182
      @Tiziano182 8 років тому +1

      well i tryed salvia d. and its nothing like DMT (i never did it). and that was scary lol.. some entities always laugh at me cause i get in a panick state haha.. i belive we can acces this realms if we learn to be conscious in trance states..

    You are absolutely correct - there is no difference between an "astral state" or lucid dreaming or any other state of consciousness. There is more than ample evidence to conclude with quite a bit of certainty that the notion of astral projection or leaving one's body or otherwise entering a different physical realm is quite impossible. There is also ample evidence to demonstrate that the human mind can indeed create the convincing illusion of such experiences. If you'd like to discuss it in more detail, including relevant references I am more than happy to.

    One of the methods for entering a lucid dream involves getting into sleep paralysis to use that state as a conduit then concentrating all of your attention on the imagery you see while in the sleep paralysis state. As you concentrate harder the imagery becomes clearer and it grows more "intense," or more "full," or whatever word you wanna use. Climbing the rope could be serving as the imagery (despite being self-created and chosen,) and the act of climbing the rope provides greater immersion into the imagery, causing a greater focus and giving you what exactly what you need to enter the LD state through this method. There could definitely be something to what you're thinking here.
    I've had plenty of lucid dreams but I've never tried astral projecting because I never had much belief in it, though that does sound like some very silly reasoning now that I actually think about it and I realize I need to experience it before I can make any worthwhile judgements or opinions!

    My first successful lucid dream was very profound. I found myself in a very LARGE but dark room. This room was my room as I was in bed, curled up in a ball. What also gave it away was that I saw light come from the direction of my bedroom door. My parents entered my room with both LOOONNNNG faces. Very similar to the painting where the person is screaming. They were laughing and congratulated me for joining them in a dream world. I began to rub my hands together to prevent myself from becoming too excited - as this could eject me from my dream. I was frightened by the image of my parents. I turned to my bedroom window, opened it up and fell out. I landed in my backyard. My yard has three trees. All in a zig zag type pattern. From tree to tree hung beautiful, multicolored chinese lanterns. As I followed these lanterns I noticed I was sort of light. Way too light. I recalled that I could try to fly in lucid dreams. (It is very hard to recall things in lucid dreams, you could say its similar to a light ego death.) I lifted from the ground and slammed painlessly into another house. Sadly the crash woke me up and I jerked out of sleep. I do believe both states are the same. I believe this because I started in my bed in the same position that I fell asleep in. I cannot say for sure this is true because I'm not extremely experienced. (only a handful of lucid dreams.)

    I agree with you. I did not know what lucid dreaming was until today. I started lucid dreaming a few years ago. Sometimes the views or environment in my dream are exactly the same as reality; such as the bedroom. It takes longer time for the brain to notice it is a dream because the views are same as reality. The difference between the two, I think, is the brain is more aware during the Astral projection state. The consciousness is stronger than the subconscious.

    Yeah I've experienced the failure to float thing a few times and the first time it happened was in my first lucid dream. For some reason, my trigger was seeing my mailbox look bigger than I remember (so walking with my late grandfather did nothing to trigger lucidity, go figure). I turned to him and said "I'm dreaming!" which he responded to me saying that's impossible. I started trying to fly and got maybe 5 feet up before slowly drifting down; all the while my gradfather was saying how absurd my belief that I was currently dreaming was. In my mind, his objections were what was causing me to fall and I wasn't able to will him out of the dream. So I thought that if I can't fly or will things to happen, I'll just stop trying and go with whatever happens.

    Total credit to all you ve said here. I am gonna try to explain 2 different types of experience I have.
    Example 1 ) some freaks were pursuing me and hid in an impossible place to find out. But still they came to look for me there, and that's when I realized it was a dream. Then snap i made myself invisible and walk in the midst of everyone without being seen and started creating whatever I wanted.
    Example 2)
    I'm laying on my bed and suddenly felt that vibration and heard the train like noise then popped out of my body ( out and in, out and in for a moment in which breathing was difficult) then i realized that i was out. I was just like a balloon my "spirit" is actually shorter ( way shorter ) than actual body me ..and I started exploring the room while i tried to go to my body another me stood from the bed and I held his face it was me looking at me ..then i went thro the window the roof the floor ..Woke up and fell asleep again and still went on exploring with only my " spiritual being " .
    Now these 2types of experience are all subjective to my understanding, i kinda feel that I am creating everything ( sometime unconsciously/ sometimes consciously )

    I visited a seminar of a local astral traveller that has also done a couple of videos on UA-cam about astral travelling and he told us that when he used to travel a lot with his friends, they would visit the same place and do something together. Some of them were astral travellers, some of them lucid dreamers. When they were back in the "normal" state, the lucid dreamers would remember nothing or almost nothing, but astral travellers remembered everything that happened. He said that lucid dreaming is like playing in a sandpit being limited by the boundaries of it, while astral projection had no boundaries. He also talked about visiting higher planes or other dimensions, living the live like he used to do and realising after couple of months that it was not his life...

    • @Angelinka9
      @Angelinka9 8 років тому

      He also told us this as a proof of astral travelling: He was in another country, hiking in the mountains. While beeing in the mountains he also did an astral journey and met his friend. When he returned back home he found out that during his trip to another country that same friend died, so he realized this friend went to visit him for the last time because he knew about his travels out of body.

    I've never smoked DMT in my life (yet). I just keep in my mind this will to do this. Once I had a dream: I was sitting on my bed and in front of me in my hands I was holding a tube with DMT in in, and after I did first breath with DMT in I started to see beautiful patterns of yellow color and it just was everywhere I looked. But a few seconds after I realized that it's just a dream. So for me a lucid dream is just a place where our mind truly wants to be in, it's just like a higher level of awareness. Most of people live their lives without any awareness and it's making them feeling like a life in a dream (the word "dream" here doesn't mean something really good or really bad). First thing you should discover is why would you like to use these states of mind. For me it became a nice possibility to meditate, I feel chakras more and I can realize witch of them is needed my attention more. Think about it, guys! Enjoy your life more! By the way, I am a big fan of you, because I feel really connected with you somehow.

    The closest I've ever gotten to astral projection was getting into the meditative state and feeling an intense vibration throughout my body which would jolt me awake every time. I've read that you have to get past those vibrations to astral project, my 1st ever lucid dream actually happened a couple months ago while I was in rehab and it only lasted like 5 minutes for me and I havent been able to do it again, dreaming is also very rare for me so when I do dream I get excited about it

    Great channel. I astral projected multiple times as 12 - 14 year old boy, then again for about a month every other morning during the 2002 football world cup. Like you I didn't even know how to discuss the topic or what it was called. Upon learning what had been happening, I found that it is more likely to happen during broken periods of sleep or as you nap, which made sense because as a boy I would be up at 7am then napping til 8am before getting ready for school, and in 2002, watching in the UK, the footy started at 6am, so I'd be snoozing / spliffing throughout 3 games. The first time it happened as a boy, it was the morning after my father - a 'no nonsense' man if ever there was one - terrified me by telling me he had seen a ghost. He would tell anyone they were talking shit if they had said as much before then, but you could tell he believed it at the very least. He was white as a sheet, all the hairs on his arms standing on end. Hadn't been intoxicated that night. Anyway, I digress... Something about that fear, when he left for work at 7am leaving me alone for the hour before school, triggered my first astral projection experience (unless it was completely random correlation).
    My experience of it was not what I have heard others in a brief round up of clips i just watched describe. Maybe this is where you annotate that thing about remote viewing being different. This is the first I have heard of remote viewing, and is another thing I may have experienced. But I have heard people describing how they astral projected and saw things that were really there etc..... whereas my - exceptionally vivid experiences - where like being on an entirely different plane of existence unconcerned with human affairs or earth. Imagine if you will a cube in which you dwell. Outside of it is an octagonal or dodecahedral structure surrounding it on all sides, with many more angles and chambers. You are pulled from the cube into the beyond. Now imagine the cube is our reality and the structure beyond has multiple dimensions. At the time you enter it, your subjective experience sheds the properties of your earthly body, and becomes a form at one with the novel physical laws now present. The closest i could describe it (which still isn't even close) is like being a cloud of energy that slowly accelerates first from within and then away from your body, and as you accelerate time slows backwards behind you (wtf lol) until you elevate to a kind of timeless zenith at which point you are now firmly experiencing dimensions and physics beyond this realm - or a remarkable human brain interpretation of such a thing; which were it all to be in our heads, is certainly something worthy of study. It is the most unlike reality thing I have ever experienced (though I have never done DMT), and is certainly more unlike any dream, lucid or otherwise (had loads of them too!) than reality is.
    Man i could say so much more, let me know if ever you are in Asia. I am firmly down the reality wormhole putting the jigsaw together and have had some mind bending revelations and philosophical breakthroughs. I'm in a reasonably lucrative position so another year of saving and thinking of taking a full year of philosophical, scientific and theological musing and writing. Gonna be staying tuned to your vids. Its lonely being a thinker on this level, so it is nice to hear these types of vids. Cheers!

    I had a lucid dream where I just got out of bed during a daytime nap, walked around, wondered to myself if this was real, looked around and took a moment to observe critically, saw myself in the bathroom mirror, came to the conclusion that it was real, that I had just woke up from a nap, then went back to bed. Then I woke up. I was impressed. This was achieved by doing the mental phantom limb wiggles on the way to sleep. But I did not see myself in bed. And I was wearing a different shirt than the one I saw in my reflection during the dream. And the bathroom cabinet doors were positioned differently. Negative on astral projection. Yes, lucid dreaming and OOBE is the same. OOBE is a type of lucid dream. Not every lucid dream is an OOBE.

    There's a huge difference to me.
    Lucid dream it takes less effort, less practice and it's more fun. Also, It feels like you're still in a body even though you can fly, jump high etc. When you're done with that, you just feel amused and curios.
    Astral projection is more spiritual. It takes a lot of effort and willpower. You don't feel a body but you feel pure energy. It's all about vibrations. It's more real than a lucid dream. Also, when you're done with that, you feel love and empathy, I don't know exactly how to describe that because I've been hating people and their beliefs for my whole life and, when I felt the new thing, I realized than I've been wrong for all these years.
    I was atheist, now I dont know exactly what I am. I feel I dont need religion. I just need to experience more and find answers. Have a good day!

    I went floating in a float tank yesterday. I've floated around 8 times now I think, so I'm somewhat used to the experience now. This was a very deep experience this time. I didn't get a lot of sleep the night before, so I think I was kind of on the verge of sleep at a few points. Kind of a crazy thing happened. I've had similar experiences to what happened before through meditation and floating, but nowhere near as intense.
    My whole body started to feel energetic and it felt like I was being pulled upwards. The float tank is pitch black but I kind of started to see energy waves. It was so intense, I was almost positive I was going to be ripped out of my body and thrown into the astral. I freaked though and opened my eyes and felt around a little bit...I'm still here. The sensations continued though, and then a drop of condensation fell on my face and I snapped out of it.
    I was completely sober mind you. Very very intense. I got back to another similar but not quite as intense state later in the session, this time going with the flow. I've got another session scheduled in a couple of weeks, we'll see how that goes. I'm committed to relaxing and riding it out if it should happen again. Gotta face my fears, right?

    I don't know what the actual relationship between these phenomena is, but we have a lot of things in common SWIM. I'm talking about sleep paralysis, vivid dreams that sometimes feel like they are much more than dreams, and actual lucid dreaming (which is just awesome, I love flying). I've also always had a fascination with altered states of consciousness. I believe the term "astral" is unnecessary and voluntarily cryptic. The human mind is enough of a conundrum in and of itself. Anyways, thanks for your inspiring videos, Peace!
    PS, the reason I mention this is because there must really be something, some phenomena at work, and I'm sure we're not the only ones who experience this. And no. god or fate are not valid answers or reasons. ;)
    AND... I so get what you said about "floating" (which isn't flying, that's a lot harder), but for me rising in the air is unconsciously linked to taking in air, like maybe it's a genetic memory of being fishes using air sacks to "float up". Anyways, I've learned to fall 1000 feet and crash to earth without waking up, but fuck man, it's still scary (and I still visualize the pavement being destroyed in a very realistic manner)!

    hi guys! this morning, I had the most wonderful astral projection, it’s the first time in my life that I went to the lower astral planes. While observing the blue lights. I felt my bed collapsed under me. So I decided to travel downward, and came to a place that looked primordial, with volcanic mountains and steam coming out from them. Then I met one of the beings that lives there, funny enough each being exist in three persons! They look exactly the same! But their personality is different. the first one was scared of me, the second was very angry at seeing me, and the third however, decided to fight with me, but during the fight the being explain to me, that I would win the fight with him if I don’t show anger ! the being said you have to deal with ANGER! It was a message that the being was giving me .I realized after touring the place, it was a place that, souls went to after this life to deal with problems in this life, that they did not overcome. And that this being was telling me that, I need to deal with my anger.
    The last thing that I did there was to look at the stones in the ground . they were the most beautiful

    From my experience i know there's a difference. I have had experience with both since a kid & im 42 now. I had never heard of astral projection or lucid dreaming till a couple years ago. And before I knew about it, i have had experience where i have dozed off during the day & been able to see what was happening in real life, even seeing a lady who i had never seen b4 who was visiting my girlfriend @ that time. I saw her sitting @ the kitchen table in my experience. When I woke up, I walked into the kitchen & there she was, sitting in the same chair w the same looks. I have had other similar experiences. But i never was able to control this, it just happens. I do notice something, there's always something strange in the ambient that lets me know that im having an outer body experience (obe). In lucid dreams, I just know that I'm dreaming & can manipulate reality, which I find pleasant. In the obe's, I feel like im just being shown something.

      @@hordebucket8971 lol, wow, I posted this 5 yrs ago! 😄
      And yet, this still holds true in my experience. For a while it went dormant, like I said, I cant control when this happens. But recently it started all over again and now I have even more control over things. For instance, the ability to fly now has become more controllable. Before I would lift up but only briefly & would then go back down. Now I can stay up & realized that the power to fly was coming from my hands. Now i can stay up in the air as long as i wish. Also, I couldn't walk through walls, something my mom could do. Very recently, I was able to go through. Before that, the last time I tried, I exploded the door lol.
      I know when these OBE are about to happen too cuz I get these strong vibrations over my entire body. They start with short pulses & then a full blown non stop vibration. At that point I know I can get up from bed.
      I honestly feel like God is showing me things during these experiences, revealing things to me. Hard to explain.

    I can relate to much in this video, I have lucid dreams very often on an average of 4 a week and some are very psychedelic and terrifying, others very poetic and adventures. But I only had a conscious OBE once. After a very high acoustic vibration I was out of body and aware. Then! I rushed outside as fast as possible ecstatic with what is happening. With something that felt like heightened scenes I anticipated the rain and felt the cold spots on my astral body. Then just a moment after the sensation I came back into my body, I fear my ecstatic nature failed me at that moment. But! I had to validate the rain phenomena and then I went outside to check... and to my amazement there proceeded a light and cold precipitation. This experience made a big difference from how I saw the nature of reality.
    That is why I think that OBE's are not JUST the imagination but lucid dreaming may be more in the imagination because the projections in lucid dreaming feels more unconscious than the enlightened-know state of the OBE experience.

    I’ve had sleep paralysis and lucid dreams since I was kid as well. It wasn’t until adulthood that I realized I could astral project through sleep paralysis, but I’ve only been able to achieve it once or twice. Lately, I have a different type of sleep paralysis where I can move my arms and legs, pick up objects, or even knock myself out of bed, but then I’m immediately reverted back to my original position. This continues in a loop and it’s quite disconcerting. I haven’t had a lucid dream in a long time, but when I did, I would jump three times like Super Mario to make myself fly. I remember one vivid lucid dream where I did that and it was like flying over city lights at night time, except all the lights were purple and green.

    I also grew up lucid dreaming...its cool. When I was in college I had a few dream experiences brought on with the use of Calea Zacatachichi that led to me learning about the concept astral projection. During that time and for some time after college, I would have said astral projection and lucid dreaming are different states, in that, in what i would call the astral projection experiences (always happening just before awakening from a night of sleep, rather than going into it from the waking state), I was able to pick up small bits of information about either the space I was sleeping in or about what was going on with a friend.
    For example, I crashed at my studio one night, and just before awakening, I was dreaming I woke up but I realized I was still asleep, so I went for a float around the studio. I heard the outer door open, so I peaked over the wall into the hall and saw this asian guy. I got somewhat worried because I knew he was coming to the room and I was asleep, I needed to wake up. So I woke up for real, but no one was there. I ended up passing out at the studio again the next night, then in the morning what I dreamt happened. I had never met this guy we were sharing the studio with, but he usually came in in the mornings to practice. He was an asian guy. So what I was picking up on in the astral state was his energy, witnessing the occurrences that normally go on in that space, being him coming in to practice.
    Another time I woke up laying in bed, I rolled over to talk to my girlfriend who had left for work already, which I knew, because she told me when she left maybe an hour before that, then I went back to sleep. But anyway, I was conversing with her in this dream talking about what she was doing at work and this one guy was antagonizing her to the point it made her cry and how much she wanted to come home and blah blah. I woke up and noted the time. When she got home I asked her if her coworker was doing that around that time, and she was amazed because that shit was happening while I was talking to her in my dream, which I'm going to label an astral projection.
    I have quite a few experiences similar to that, which I was starting to think it was actually like rooms hold the energy of the occurrences that happen within, and in that state I was able to understand these resonances somehow. But nowadays I look back and I just think they were lucid dreams and its a confirmation of how much how unconcscious brain is piecing together. But I also dont have those experiences like what i was calling astral projections anymore, so I can't rigorously test it.
    Also as far as remote viewing goes, from Joe McMonagle's explanation who I think worked with Campbell at some point, you dont actually leave your body, or even view places, visually. Its more like you clear your mind and when the interviewer asks whatever question to you, you just answer what you can without censoring your mind. So theres a lot of hit or miss. Pretty much random. Though, the good remote viewers have better than random averages on the hits......that ended up being so long, but I love this question and I honestly don't know where to stand on it.

    I've also been able to lucid dream most of my life. Even when I was a little kid, I remember frequently having dreams where I come up to myself telling me over and over again "you're dreaming! Wake up!" And I have way too many flying dreams to count. Had one last night too actually. I do get the frsutrations of not being able to fly. Either falling slowly, my flight height limit keeps decreasing. Or I jump up and try climbing the air, but keep slipping.
    As for astral projection. One of my earliest memories is seeing my 2 year old self and the rest of my family in the living room from ceiling height. I still feel partially out of my body most days, but haven't done it to that extent since then. Honestly a little nervous about it.
    And one last bit that came to mind was some lucid dreams that feel as tho I'm entering others lives for a short period. 1 example. I was dreaming I was walking to a house with 2 friends. They were laughing and telling stories from the past. As this person I should have got the inside joke, but right at that moment I realised I was in a dream. So I told this persons friends that I wasn't really their friend at the moment. That I was from another dimension. They looked at me weird and were a bit confused. But once we got to the house, I was told to go lay down and chill. So I lay down on a table for some reason with a blanket. I feel content, but slightly awkward as people pass to see me laying on a table with a blanket smiling. XD Then I woke up. Also had dreams where I'm in my astral body floating around places. And people who can see me and think I'm a ghost run away from me terrified. I've learned to turn invisible, but it doesn't always work. I could keep going.. dreams and astral projection are big topics for me.
    Thanks for sharing your video and perspectives. Gives me more to consider and question.

    I've always assumed astral projection and lucid dreaming were the same thing, until one time I had a very vivid dream of my long distance girlfriend at the time. She was wearing an oxygen mask at the time, and I had no idea of what it looked like or how it was used, I just knew that she was on one. I actually assumed it went over her mouth but in my dream it only went over her nose, and had a very specific oval shaped guard around it with cut outs. In the dream I got my face too close to hers and knocked the mask off her face. Several days after the dream she sent me a picture in the mask and it was exactly as I saw it in the dream. This happened to me about 11 months ago so it's still pretty fresh in my mind, but I'm not sure what to make of it. Perhaps it confirms astral projection, or even telepathy, but I could just have an active imagination.
    Also I agree, in all my years of lucid dreaming I haven't encountered anything even close to dmt realms, that's a completely different ball game.

    also i had what i believe to be an "astral projection" (my first time actually) was actually a natural DMT trip. it had all the signature elements of a DMT trip and it was realer than anything ive ever "dreamed" about. i was fully conscious, in sleep paralysis, when a portal burst open and i witnessed all the geometrical patterns that Mckenna called the chrysanthemum and then was literally plummeted into what i can only describe as a wormhole. ended up in a realistic vivid version of an Alex Grey painting, no shit. i honestly believe that DMT trips and astral projections have a lot in common, it just depends on where you end up going. i've had astral projections since then that were super mundane and different than my first DMT-like trip (i've never smoked DMT in my life btw, and at the time hadn't tried any psychedelic. i've only done a low dose of LSD once but that was about a month ago and this happened about 3 years ago.) what i find interesting about it though is that at the time that i had that experience, i was VERY deep into learning about DMT and had a sort of spiritual awakening following watching the documentary on Netflix. i learned about astral projection soon after and decided to try it one night and spontaneously had my DMT-like trip. i didn't do anything special either, it just ended up happening. i basically woke up in sleep paralysis and recognized what was happening and just let it flow, and boy, flow it did. that is still the craziest experience i've had to date and it required no substances or practice or anything. but since then i've been able to clearly tell the difference between normal dreamstate and astral projection-like states. toooottally different ballgames.

    As a researcher in both states, I have come to my view that they are not the same, now I will explain my theory why. Lucid dreaming is a state of changes, nothing lasts, you can't read or do math or have hard logic consequences that are delivered by the mind as language or other neural systems. What we have is some already made view or experiences of the world that are being projected inwards into the mind - so telling us we have anything that has happened to us in our subconscious self as a map of what we have explored. Things which we haven't experienced but create in lucid dreaming will come to us as a belief of how they need to work. If I take LSD in a lucid dreaming state I will feel what I belief I will be feeling if I have no experience to base it on. Lucid dreaming delivers instant changes in the surroundings based on the will and can create things appear as people and so on. You also occur to have slow motion phases.
    Astral projection is where time is still something that appears to occur, even if time is faster for things to happen. You are more focused on it and the most reliable source of evidence to me is thought-forms. A thought-form is a created aspect of the mind that can be personified into being a local spirit to do tasks. So even in AP, you need time to make this entity as real as possible, to feed him with attention so he/she learns. This needs tremendous focus which is not something occurring in lucid dreaming. Next, we have the environment, which is possible to be modelled to some extent in AP but still is based on being in a real area, not creating your area. You can be teleported to a location you like to see but that is not modelling the surrounding but wishing to be there. You can create things in the astral planes but it all occurs in a real existing location on the physical one as of in lucid dreaming you can create whatever you like and mess with physics and so on. So AP has a foundation of a physical plane which proves we enter a more higher plane as of when we lucid dream we can mould what we like and mess with anything.
    In AP we can go to locations where we haven't been when in Lucid Dreaming we are trapped to our own experiences and imagination. AP has logic, LD doesn't. AP is a projection outwards and LD inwards. LD changes constantly as we turn around when AP has some bases of being there. To me, they are not the same. These are my thoughts!

    I've been lucid dreaming since early childhood as well. I used to have night terrors and it would "wake" me in my dreams. I became an expert lucid dreamer in high school. I used to have to battle demons in my dream state but they started to leave me alone because I am "all powerful" in the dream world. I never believed in there being a difference between lucid dreaming and astral projection until I discussed the phenomenon with my boyfriend. I also used to deal with sleep paralysis. My hypothesis is that we can enter the astral realm, an interdimensional place, but it takes effort to keep from slipping back into our own dream state since we accessed it from a sleep state instead of a waking state. I am now 28 years old and after purposely shutting down my lucid dream state (I had them nightly and got tired so I actively turned it off) I am now reaching out to it again so I can learn to explore the astral plane. Just a different perspective from someone else who is a natural lucid dreamer. I haven't heard of many others that have done it since childhood like my boyfriend and I.

  • @CWhite-tp5zv

    Adam, the one thing that has told me for certain that LD and AP are two separate experiences is what happens with mental constructs. While LDing, successfully crafted mental constructs will stay around as long as you want them to. With AP however, mental constructs will eventually dissipate into nothing whether or not you want them to after a certain period of time. This says, to me anyway, that astral projection is actual factual leaving of the body and entering a different plane, while lucid dreaming takes place in the mind.

  • @simonlevante2257

    Lucid dreaming projecting and astral projection are VERY different. If you're lucid dreaming that you are leaving your body, try go to your friend's place and describe his room in detail. You can't do that if you're lucid dreaming projecting. Impossible. You CAN do it if you are astral projecting. They can feel similar. It's the difference between real gold and fool's gold. This is a SURE test whether you are astral projecting or just lucid dreaming projecting. What you are describing is lucid dreaming projecting. You haven't actually astral projected. Lucid dreaming is the first step to astral projecting. You don't need sleep paralysis to truly astral project. Sleep paralysis will lead to lucid dreaming. You'll be able to feel that you are leaving your body, but you really aren't. You ultimately can't control lucid dreaming projection, but if you're REALLY astral projecting, you can go any where you want. This is an easy test to see which one you're really doing.
