Two of those turnovers in the Alamo bowl were not on Jackson Arnold, but on the receivers, even though of course he ultimately gets the blame

    • @adamsanders2270
      @adamsanders2270 2 місяці тому +3

That game result is a very misleading one. It was pretty clear that Oklahoma approached them game as a chance to give Arnold a ton of passing reps.
When Oklahoma went up 24-13 they were in control. I think they could have ran the game out by running with Sawchuk, but instead they kept throwing and running the full offense. Some receiver mistakes led to turnovers and in the end made it look like Arizona dominated.

Absolutely! I was getting so much flack from Arizona fans. They kept talking about how they dominated us. I honestly felt like we dominated that game almost a full 3 quarters. Also, the linebacker tracking the slant interception was an extremely high level interception, Caleb Williams would have been intercepted on that play. We all know the Faroq turnovers were the deciding factors.

2 of picks were Arnold throwing into double coverage. Stop blaming receivers for a QB throwing the ball 😂

I agree that is a much bigger deal than most people realize. Everyone on the same page, speaking the same "language." We should see much less confusion on defense this year, that's a big part of why. That and hopefully it's all finally clicked for Kanak. I'd love to see him in position and processing what he sees without much of a thought. I still think he has big potential, if we can ever get him to that point. BOOMER

So long as these guys stay healthy and humble and keep their heads in the game and play hard they will be fine.
I do not believe they will be out physically played what so ever. Mental errors are going to be key.
It’s eerily quiet around the offensive side of the ball. There are no films available to work with for the opposition and that will account for struggles for other teams. Hopefully.
I can not wait. I could see the offensive greatness in the 1999 team. That game against ND showed me all I needed to see. They were gassed in the fourth and that was it.
Going into the 2000 season OU wasn’t even on the radar. They walked through their schedule known as a defensive oriented program. All the while their offense was the enigma. You never knew what wrinkle was going to develop during any snap. It just became obvious by the end of the season. By the time the national championship was played, OU was known for their offense. To listen to the analysis their defense stood zero chance against the Florida State offense. So much so I myself was shocked at the defensive performance during that game.
We’re much in the same position. I do not think this seasons schedule is as tough as the 2000 schedule.
Nobody has a clue what our offense is up to. Hopefully it stays that way and they get the job done.

I’ve followed Tennessee quite a bit myself. No denying your statement.
I believe the enigma around the offensive side of the ball is driving online OU team analyst's into a bit of a wishful and hopeful thought process and I’ll lend that this is a distraction from looking around at what this team will face this year.
The switch is flipped. It was all about offense for too long. Now it’s all about defense.
It’s definitely bringing about some manic traits among fans in my views.
Fans don’t have to stay humble. Just the coaches and players.

the SEC is soft, like every other conference. 2-3 teams at the top and everyone else is dogshit (Vandy) to average (Ole Miss, Miss St., Auburn, etc.).
OU will be at the top, moving forward. all the SEC did when they let us join was give us a new bunch of chumps to dominate. OU will run the SEC just like we did the Big 12 and the Big 8 before that.

and high school players in the state of Texas are, all around, the best in the nation. recruiting in the SEC is not going to be a problem.
it's hilarious how much better SEC homers think their conference is. it isn't. we already have a better roster than 80% of the SEC. Vandy, Arkie, Miss St., South Carolina, Florida, Auburn... all shit to average. aTm and Mizzou were both our bitch in the Big 12. that won't change. Tennessee's been doing well under their former Sooner qb head coach, but won't beat OU. Ole Miss? not as long as Lane Kiffin is in charge. LSU might be a tough fight. Bama's elite status is in question sans Saban, but still have good players on the roster, so who knows. Georgia is the only legit elite program in the SEC, right now.
It would be nice is the SEC homers would pull their collective heads out of their asses. they've been telling themselves the SEC is the best conference for so long, they actually believe it. the SEC is just like every other conference. 2-3 at the top and then everyone else.
