For the longest time. I never understood why Coach Saban left the Dolphins. Years later, Saban revealed why he left Miami. It was because Miami was unwilling to sign Drew Brees. Brees would have been the final piece to Miami's championship run.

There's never one reason, there's a lotta reasons that go into this decision.
Stay in the NFL, you're at the mercy of ownership, draft position, free agency and the cap.
In college, you are coach, GM and team president. And if you're really good at recruiting, you get 20 first round picks out of high school every year.

I love Saban to death and I'm so thankful to grow up watching the Saban era.. I was born an Alabama fan into a family of Alabama fans and I started watching a few years before he got there and barely remember the bad times.. that's thanks to Saban and he truly is the greatest and best coach of all time.. & we are lucky that he coaches our team and extremely lucky to grow up in the presence of greatness.. Saban, Bear Bryant & Bobby Bowden are the 3 greatest coaches of all time in that order.. and most of my childhood and adult years has been his era.. I was like 11 or 12 when he got there and they won there 13th national championship on my 13th birthday in 2009

I didn't start paying attention to the games until I was like 7 or 8 but remember my parents watching them before that.. we went to a Tennessee fans house when I was a kid a year that they beat us and it was terrible.. those were the bad times and I was a little kid.. now I'm almost 27 and barely remember that and Saban has been dominating for nearing 2 decades and he's still in the run for championships.. one word.. GOAT

I mean, would anybody really want to coach in the NFL and not have any kind of control? The players look at you as a supervisor so you don’t hear from them outside of practice and games. They show up whenever they feel like it. The corporation of the franchise you work for and coach at makes all the decisions for you and doesn’t really take your thoughts into consideration. Then the team loses and it’s your fault. Not the players, not the corporation, but yours and yours alone? Then you get fired for things out of your control because corporate thought it was a good idea at the time and proved not to be? Nah I’m good on that I’d stay at the college level

    • @PatriotsVideos

@@PatriotsVideos I see what your saying now. Really you don’t have to have a great QB your right. But if you have a terrible QB that on average throws an interception every game your less likely to win. Defenses are so fast and good in the NFL if your QB like what he had to deal with isn’t that good and turns the ball over you’ll get beat whereas a lot of that can be overcome in college. It can’t in the NFL if corporate is unwilling to sign a decent player. A lot of coaches that have done well in college can’t in the NFL because of that very reason. Matt Rhule and Urban Meyer just to name a couple

Nick Saban is without a doubt, the greatest head coach in college football history. But more importantly, he's helped so many other coaches achieve greatness by helpoing tehm be ready for their first ,second, or sometimes ev en third chance as a head coach after failing in other places. Coaches like Kirby, Sark, and many others wouldn't be where they are without his influence.
