Seems like that could be its own merch: Just Another Dodgers Fan Tantalized By Why Am I A Mets Fan. Best part is that literally _only_ the cognoscenti would get it.
Love the merch idea. "Tantalizing" on a shirt would be brilliant, but I'd throw caution with a shirt that says "Get a Grip."😂 Thanks for the video, love the show.
Cohen wasn't talking to Pete so much as Boras. The part I loved is that the while Stearns was talking about Alonso, the crowd was yelling "sign him!" And "we want Pete!" And Steve just stepped in front of the bus they were trying to throw Stearns under and said look, this is how it is, and turned those chants into applause for the reasoning behind not signing him.
0:35 Yes, I'd definitely consider buying merchandise related to this show. Your buzz words of "old friend", "get a grip", "tantalizing", etc. slay me 🤣
Proof that if you know what you are talking about, offer a fresh perspective, and have great personalities, guys will watch female sports commentators ALL DAY. Keep doin what you guys are doin! -new fan 💙🧡
Life long Dodgers fan here. I would have liked to see Flaherty come back to the Dodgers, I think he's a heck of a pitcher. I wish him all the best wherever he goes. BTW he could do a lot worse than signing with the Mets. I do feel like he would do well playing in Queens.
I really fell in love with the synergy of your very different conversational styles, very sharp and just flat out pleasant to listen to. I would assume such qualities would bode well for a successful podcast!! 🤷 lol anyways, keep up the great work ya'll 🫡👊🏻 - a Yankee fan (yikes)
Hey lovely ladies, another great show! Yes, the merch would be great, T-Shirts with your famous slogans: "Tantalizing", "Friend of the Show", "Old Friend", "Godspeed", "Get A Grip" ,"👎" or Why am I a ___ Fan? (insert all 30 teams). Even mugs would be cool too. And as as you ladies mentioned, Flaherty no longer fits in the Dodgers plans. Now IF, Roki wouldn't have chosen the Dodgers, I could've have seen Flaherty resigning in LA. Another great show, the laughs were great! Dodger fan continuing to support 💙
Thank you for moving on from Team Japan out in LA! I couldn’t care less about them anymore until we play them. As sick as I am about all the Alonso talk, I’d rather hear about my team than what’s going on in LA.
Ladies keep it up.. enjoying your podcast.. love the get a grip with different pitching grips idea! Wish the mets a good season except when they play the Dodgers haha
Never thought we would be heading into February with Alonso & Bregman unsigned. And how about the Bills losing to the Chiefs for the 4th straight time in the playoffs?
The 7yr/$158M was before last season and included his last arbitration year salary of $20.5M. So an equivalent end of 2024 offer would have been 6yr/$137.5M. Stearns offered him 3yr/$70M with some deferred money and no opt-out after 1 year(probably 2nd year). Pete wanted an opt-out after the 1st year and no deferred money. P.S. Pete is not the sharpest crayon in the box.
It really feels like Boras is fighting at this point for his own reputation and evidently rather delicate amour-propre. You’d’ve thought that the Soto win would be enough. And evidently he’s been filling Alonso’s head with the promise of ice cream castles, tangerine dreams & marmalade skies. As one of your Dodgers faithful, it’s clear to me now that after what happened last year, Blake Snell must’ve given Boras strict orders to get a good deal done ASAP. Knowing Andrew Friedman, that possibility had probably occurred to the Dodgers, hence the surprising speed of the agreement (not even a month after the WS).
Flaherty still unsigned at the end of January is mindboggling. He's willing to take a short deal. Jack should have been signed by someone right after Sasaki was announced. The Yankees nearly traded for him back in July, but pulled out after a failed physical. He didn't miss a start with the Dodgers. I would be disappointed to see Flaherty sign elsewhere (he's a SoCal native), but he would fit in nicely with any club and any rotation. Especially the Mets.
I love this podcast but I’m sad it’s not a Dodgers podcast. 😂. You Mets fans are so lucky. Andrew Friedman, please sign Samantha and Ashley to a 4yr 85million deal to come to LA (18mil signing bonus, 35 million deferred)
Wonder if Jose Siri has a shot at the Mets centerfield job or will he part time/utility player? The good parts of Siri's game is he hits for power, steals bases, plays good defense, and has a flair for the dramatic. The bad parts of Siri's game are the strikeouts, low batting average/on base percentage. Insofar as the Rays half of the deal, pitcher Eric Ozre. He will be in the bullpen assuming he makes the team out of spring training. In other news, did anyone notice Junior Caminero's homerun which turned out to be the game winning one in Game 7 of the Dominican World Series? Caminero took a 104 mph pitch over the wall to win the Series for the Leones del Escogido team managed by Albert Pujols. Looking forward to seeing the 21 year old Caminero playing third base for the Rays. But don't want to jinx it because the last time a young Rays player looked like he was going to become the future face of the franchise, it was Wander Franco.😬
Right? I got excited when I saw the Cohen report because I knew we’d be getting some hot WAIAMF takes soon. (Besides, I was getting antsy waiting for confirmation on Kirby Yates. 😉)
I don't hear anybody suggesting anything like this anywhere, so I might be an insane person, but I think sticking McNeil on 1B should be the plan B. He's filled in there before, it's consistent w/ his one major defensive liability being a below average throwing arm, we don't need his utility anymore in the outfield or middle infield, and this would open up room for signing Iglesias to a cheap 1-year contract and/or giving reps to guys like Acuna and Mauricio.
Hmm…I’m not a Mets fan so I might be missing something, but his 2024 OPS+ of 97 is…er…suboptimal from that position. Probably better production than the Yankees got from their 1B last year, but that’s not saying much.
I would wear a shirt with the two of you on my channel and around the LA area. Use the pic of the two from the intro, your Thumbnail logo and "Get A Grip".
"Why Am I A Mets Fan?" is arguably your best merch potential (better trademark it if you haven't already). It can be both literal and whimsical. The others are, in all honesty, from older time periods that haven't yet recycled to be cool again. Just my opinion.
1 year, $20 million? Even the qualifying offer they made to him to ensure they got draft pick compensation (and one of the other reasons teams don't want to sign him) was $21.05 for one year. It would look really bad if he took less than that. I don't think he takes less than $25 for one year. But at that point. Why not give him the three years with opt outs? But I think that's the kind of thing Cohen considers asymmetrical.
It seems Flaherty was not committing, hoping that if the Dodgers didn't get Sasaki, they'd have him back. He really wanted to return to the Dodgers. He grew up in LA and lives there. It doesn't seem like he desires to go elsewhere. He would be a good get for the Mets, but would his heart be into it?
Also, before everyone starts to think the Dodgers invented deferred contracts, I would like to point out that the Mets will pay 3 players this year what is due them in Deferrals. The first most of you should know as I hope all of you Celebrate Bobby Bonilla Day. Mr. Bonilla will get 1, 193, 248 at age 62 this year and will continue to get that amount until 2035. Adam Ottavino will get 500 k in 2025 and the payments will continue until 2031 where Adams gets a final payment of 1 Million, Finally , the great Bret Saberhagen gets a nice 250k until 2028. I hope that 250k just gets dumped in the change jar and Brett took care of his finances, but if Brett made a couple bad moves that money might be a life saver. How do you celebrate Bobby Bonilla Day.?
I like the one year, $20.5m, deal. If he has an incredible first half, offer a multi-year deal. And, if he continues his decline, trade or you know 100% for sure that he isn't coming back.
This Alonso thing is getting really old now. The relationship between the Mets and him has been already damaged, he is on the decline, and will hurt Mets productivity. Dodgers please sign this guy up or anybody. PLEASE!
Glad you guys got Soto but remember how Boras advised Soto to handle the yankees, he didnt even talk to his teammates, I don't think his client have loyalty except for the almighty dollar. Might be wrong because from what i hear Soto is as professional as they get. Love Pete also but I'm with Steve, let him hike it.
When the Mets get knocked out of the playoffs and Pete was on another team all year playing solid, the same Mets fans will be crying out why couldn’t Cohen just do it to help us.
Part of me cant help but wonder whether the non-Oakland Athletics can scrape together a 1 year, $25 million contract for Alonso. If they're willing to throw the largest contract in franchise history at Luis Severino for three uncompetitive years of baseball ehile they wait for their Vegas plans to come to fruition, then why not get Pete as well?
at this point we'd allow it just to hear the whining for the rest of the league. Now if i was rubbing a lamp, I'd package Muncy and some excess pitching for Jacob Wilson and Mason Miller.
I'm with Cohen on his remarks about the negotiations. I also think in the end he re-signs Pete. The Mets will need someone, probably even 2 more hitters, especially one to protect Soto, if not Soto will see nothing good to hit.
Yeah. Sign Jack. Dodger fan kinda worried about him in limbo. By the way, ever wonder why Dodgers have Japan. Search for Mookie and Japan elementary school visit, a week ago. Where are other stars from other teams going to Japan?
Signing Soto and losing Alonso is practically a draw. Pete Alonso has 25 more hrs over Soto in the last 4 yrs. 46hrs in '22 40hrs in '23. Soto 1 41hr year gets plus 800 million. Alonso probably about to hit 42hrs for Toronto. As a Dodger fan, next Mets Dodgers rematch with no Pete is a huge relief. Lindor /Soto/ Alonso would have been elite.
Die hard Dodgers fan here, but Steve Cohen is hands down my favorite owner. And as much as I need a “Sam’s Stamp of Approval” Stamp, let’s wait on the merch. If you get to 20k Subscriber it’s time to make some “Old Friend” T-Shirts with Scott Boras’ face.
@ Oh I like the Guggenheim Baseball Management very much. They’ve (or more accurately Friedman) have been virtually perfect this off season. We are the envy of EVERY MLB Team fan base. But just as a single person owner, I think Cohen is great. If Cohen owned the Dodgers, and he had Friedman cooking for him, we would have had a great off season also. It seems he and the Guggenheim Group are the only two who actually want to genuinely improve their teams. He’s a straight shooter and great for the Mets.
"Get A Grip" with different pitching grips would be cool
Ooh that’s a good idea
this is not just a good idea but a great one
Genius
Yes! Sign me up!
Wow that’s awesome!! You win!!
As a Dodgers fan, wearing a "Why am I a Mets Fan" shirt would be funny. Love you guys!💙🧡
Seems like that could be its own merch: Just Another Dodgers Fan Tantalized By Why Am I A Mets Fan. Best part is that literally _only_ the cognoscenti would get it.
I came tantalizingly close to getting a grip by watching your show. Godspeed!!! 😁
The temptation to give this comment a thumbs-down was almost overwhelming. 😉
Isn't that the truth!
Love the merch idea. "Tantalizing" on a shirt would be brilliant, but I'd throw caution with a shirt that says "Get a Grip."😂 Thanks for the video, love the show.
Cohen wasn't talking to Pete so much as Boras. The part I loved is that the while Stearns was talking about Alonso, the crowd was yelling "sign him!" And "we want Pete!" That’s a true leader!!
Just discovered you two last night scrolling through Instagram reels, love your energy and content, well informed and chilled !
-Phil 🧡💙
I love you guys. You are fantastic!!!
My new favorite Mets channel. Keep it up ladies!
They are a lot easier on the eyes than Jolly. Although when Jolly cleans himself up…
Just recently discovered you girls, Awesome podcasts , I'm in 😬💯
I’ll definitely buy merch with you on it Sam!
LOVE LOVE LOVE!! Your perspective! Such a fresh breath of air. Keep up the great work! 👍🏼

Same here. I'm sure Jack Flaherty would be an asset to any side he joins. Still, I'll miss him, and Buehler too!
I really enjoy your podcast. Keep up the great work.
You should have a shirt for your Mets podcast that says:
Wilpon Era: Not Tantalizing
Cohen Era: Tantalizing!
Okay this is good
I would be interested in some merch! This episode was fun I liked how inhinged and silly it got with you two just busting up laughing. Keep it up!
It really is the best when they crack each other up, because it’s so genuine.
Have been waiting for you two gals to chime in on the latest news on Cohen and Alonzo. Interesting to say the least.
Thank you for moving on from Team Japan out in LA! I couldn’t care less about them anymore until we play them. As sick as I am about all the Alonso talk, I’d rather hear about my team than what’s going on in LA.
Thank you. SAFE TRAVELS!!!
"Old Friend" merch would be the most suitable for this podcast 😅. Another great episode 👏
I would absolutely buy merch ❤
Why am I an Angels fan lol. Great show again!! 👏 bring on some merch!!
I'll buy Why am I a Mets fan merch!!! Let's go Mets!!! You ladies rock as always!!!
Ladies keep it up.. enjoying your podcast.. love the get a grip with different pitching grips idea! Wish the mets a good season except when they play the Dodgers haha
As a dodger fan, I think it'd be fun to have a "Why am I a Mets Fan fan" t-shirt. 😄💙
Rant style podcast is what I’m here for me. Keep cooking ladies.
Just two chefs
I was just thinking of a shirt saying "Tantalizing", but then Steve Cohen saying " Asymmetrical"
If you put "Why am I a Mets fan when we have to play the Dodgers" I'm all over it! 😂❤
Never thought we would be heading into February with Alonso & Bregman unsigned. And how about the Bills losing to the Chiefs for the 4th straight time in the playoffs?
Tantalizing merch would be awesome!
I love the why am I a dodgers fan podcast
You guys didn't talk about the Dodgers signing Kirby Yates...
I’ll always be for players > owners, but Cohen’s bluntness may be the thing that cuts through the BS and gets a deal done
How about a shirt with your pictures on it! Definitely a best seller! 😁
Roberts is right - the payout Pete would earn if he opts out IS the asymmetry Cohen is so pissed about. It's said to be a very big number.
P.S. Quebec city is totally cool. It is like a little, frozen Paris. Great restaurants there.
i would legitimately buy merch 🙋♀️
It really feels like Boras is fighting at this point for his own reputation and evidently rather delicate amour-propre. You’d’ve thought that the Soto win would be enough. And evidently he’s been filling Alonso’s head with the promise of ice cream castles, tangerine dreams & marmalade skies.

All-Star talent becomes a free agent: tantalizing
That same talent hires Scott Boras: not tantalizing
T-shirt idea: “ Scott Boras is not Tantalizing”
#1 Dodgers podcast T-shirt. Merch.
Definitely down for the merch, but you need a “why am I a Mets fan, Dodger edition” shirt
You ladies need to capitalize on this podcast. Get that merch out!
Good luck to the new intern. Wishing Ashley a nice trip to Canada.😃
Flaherty still unsigned at the end of January is mindboggling. He's willing to take a short deal. Jack should have been signed by someone right after Sasaki was announced.

Why are Ashley’s forearms always so darn cold? 🥶
Lol
They have to keep it cold in the room for the equipment.
First again because we love this show
How is Intern Dan?
He’s great! The instagram is about to reach 5,000
I love this podcast but I’m sad it’s not a Dodgers podcast. 😂. You Mets fans are so lucky. Andrew Friedman, please sign Samantha and Ashley to a 4yr 85million deal to come to LA (18mil signing bonus, 35 million deferred)
Hello Samantha And Ashley Dodgers fan. Here Love watching your podcast
LGFM, need dat merch
I would consider taking part of the Padres fire sale. I think Cease and King might be up.

No real Dodger news to discuss this past week, so why do I keep looking forward to this podcast???
Right? I got excited when I saw the Cohen report because I knew we’d be getting some hot WAIAMF takes soon. (Besides, I was getting antsy waiting for confirmation on Kirby Yates. 😉)

Well the 10 yard line in Canada has to go through the American exchange rate, after all.
Pete Alonso during the season. Peter 'Hardball' Alonso during negotiations.
You guys should sell “Why am I in a Mets Podcast” tshirts
"Why Am I A Mets Fan?" is arguably your best merch potential (better trademark it if you haven't already). It can be both literal and whimsical. The others are, in all honesty, from older time periods that haven't yet recycled to be cool again. Just my opinion.
Where’s all the Dodgers talk? I thought this was a Dodgers podcast!
This from a Dodger fan - Jack will be great signing for you guys. I wouldn't want to face him in the playoffs as he will have something to prove.
1 year, $20 million? Even the qualifying offer they made to him to ensure they got draft pick compensation (and one of the other reasons teams don't want to sign him) was $21.05 for one year. I love when you 2 make fun of the Blue Jays 😂
Montas probably just assumed he signed with Dodgers with how much they’re dominating the offseason 😂
I'd get a mug or a shirt for sure
I'd love a 'get a grip' shirt, but also the classic podcast title 'Two Dumb Bitches Making Shit Up'
When they ran that back after the Soto signing…galaxy-level VORS (Value Over Replacement Snark).
“Sucks to be you!” 😂😂😂
We never forget
I was watching Mets Alonzo Highlights and can see him in the 2025 lineup but I see him battling 7th or 8th if they sign him...⚾️🏟🌐📱👓
It seems Flaherty was not committing, hoping that if the Dodgers didn't get Sasaki, they'd have him back. He really wanted to return to the Dodgers. He grew up in LA and lives there. It doesn't seem like he desires to go elsewhere. He would be a good get for the Mets, but would his heart be into it?
Jack wants to go back to the Tigers, but I’m not sure he fits on their plans. I really thought he would go to the Mets. Still think he will.
MSG to Scott Boras, like we used to say- GET BENT!
I'd buy GET A GRIP shirt! 😁
An episode with no Dodger talk we are so back 😭🙏🏾
Merch merch merch lets go

Cohen did gag me, ngl
RIGHT
When the Mets get knocked out of the playoffs and Pete was on another team all year playing solid, the same Mets fans will be crying out why couldn’t Cohen just do it to help us.
The one year deal to prove yourself great idea.
Pete should just “get a grip” of a pen and sign the contract!!
I was hoping to hear more Dodger talk, but maybe after we sign Bregman and Muncy is available to play 1st for the Mets...
Bregman is on the no fly list at Dodger Stadium too many people have to check off on it including Kershaw.
at this point we'd allow it just to hear the whining for the rest of the league. Now if i was rubbing a lamp, I'd package Muncy and some excess pitching for Jacob Wilson and Mason Miller.
yes yes yes ok, but how does this affect the Dodgers?
I would buy any merchandise that you ladies sell any merchandise. I would love to have T-shirts and hats. I would I would buy anything.
I'm with Cohen on his remarks about the negotiations. I also think in the end he re-signs Pete. The Mets will need someone, probably even 2 more hitters, especially one to protect Soto, if not Soto will see nothing good to hit.
Don’t see if you will see the message. Hope you do. Just saw the Pete Alonso is staying with the Mets. Congrats. Dodger fan here.
I need a shirt with ya'll standing back to back like a buddy cop movie poster with text that says "baseball broads" or "basebroads" MAKE IT HAPPEN!
We literally have so many photos like this hahaha
Looks like Flaherty can’t pitch in the cold. Y’all don’t want him.
Bonnes vacances à Québec! l L'Université est le meilleur endroit pour apprendre le français !
Steve Cohen is not a victim. Pete should have been signed before or the day after Soto.
5o put it into perspective, Boras nor Cohen screwed Alonso, Pete screwed Alonso...😊
Yeah. Sign Jack. Dodger fan kinda worried about him in limbo. By the way, ever wonder why Dodgers have Japan. Search for Mookie and Japan elementary school visit, a week ago. Where are other stars from other teams going to Japan?

You’re a dodger fan and prefer cohen over the dodger’s ownership? Did you watch the dodgers win the ws and sign every player on the market😂?
@ Oh I like the Guggenheim Baseball Management very much. They’ve (or more accurately Friedman) have been virtually perfect this off season. We are the envy of EVERY MLB Team fan base.
