I was there. Waited six hours in line to get a good seat. Stampede when they opened the gates. Insanely loud. I think my ears are still ringing. Good times. Great memories. Yeah, ChicagoFest.
Cheap Trick, was a phenomenal freaking awesome yet underrated group in My opinion. 2 good looking dudes and 2 odd dudes who created the band, and these guys did great songs like this song here, Dream Police, The Flame, Mighty Wings, She's Tight, I Want You To Want Me, Way Of The World, and so on. These guys knew how to Rock and known how to put on a freakin' awesome concert and yet what a shame not in the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame. THEY DESERVE to be in the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame Hands down.- Garrison.
I love that the live performances are every bit as good as the studio recordings. Of course I wouldn't be me if I didn't say it; damn, Robin, cute butt!
the best band in the world. the only reason i like the Beatles is because they influenced CHEAP TRICK. played this song a thousand times in the 80s in my band. long live CHEAP TRICK! one of my drummers was trained by Bun E. Carlos. I hired the guy without even hearing him. I knew he would be GOOD.
I was there! What a great night. The cameras panned in on me and my best friend. My brother and his friend. So much fun that night. Cheap Trick is underrated. 4:14 😊underrated.
Indeed, I agree... very few or even no other rock band today is anywhere near like CHEAP TRICK. They are (even now) true musicans in the most purest form. Almost all bands today don't measure up to their kind of dedicated performance and utmost musical skills... it is all mostly shake an' bake little or no talent pretty faced singers pasted with a temp band for hire. No matter what, CT sounds good live too, that's the sign of professionals in their craft... ROCK ON, CHEAP TRICK!
... Oh, yeah... that Tom Cruise vehicle, Rock of Ages... I know they're trying to revive something close to this kind of excitement from the 80's, but... com'on! It's another jacked up redition of High School Musical or worst, Glee... with older people...
+William Moser 70's/80's man !.....I'm 55 and grew up listening to these guys along with Zep , Rush ( in fact Rush and these guys were both exploding on to the seen during this time ).......Check out the " Music for Hangover's ) album for an awesome live version of this song and some others featuring this guy's beautiful singing voice .....he's pretty famous .
They didn’t really make ‘em like this back then either. A lot of what was popular in 1981 was also overproduced fucking garbage. It just didn’t have autotune.
Funny thing is, Rick's Inspiration is from The Who's Pete Townshend I read somewhere so i think it may just be coincidence that you think he is ripping of ACDC. Better a guitarist like that than boring huh...

We need more bands like this now. No pretention, no lofty ideals, no artsy-fartsy, just a kick in the gut and "How the hell are ya?"

Pete Comita is a monster on bass. His solo that night was the greatest 12 string bass guitar solo I ever heard.
AND WE ARE STILL ALRIGHT......THESE GUYS ARE STILL GREAT!!!!
First album I ever bought with my own money was Heaven Tonight!!
was there as well. freshman year of high school (OPRF). Man I wish that ChicagoFest never went away... ; (

Wow can you imagine if you caught a KISS record when they threw them to the crowd? That would be the best souviner!!
I’d want one just so I could smash it into dust.
yeah Don Johnson sings kickass!!
hell ya
Cheap Trick influenced many of the best rock bands, but they also had great influences. The Who's Pete Townsend was a big influence on Rick Nielson.
It was on navy pier right

try playing this song in guitar hero 2...believe me...it's great!
i would give all my money to make cheaptrick as a band immortal
wow, that singer is puts a lot of frontmen to shame(!)

I have to laugh at the dude in the old XRT T-shirt and all the bouncing kids who made the drive to Chicago to see their favorite band from Rockford.

all i gotm is some shtm we recored off KMET
They don't make them like this anymore. Today is overproduced, auto tune bullshit.

Imagine all the 80s hotties who threw themselves at Robin.
Dude on guitar totally ripping off acdc the way he trying to copy running around..as great as cheap trick is the bands acts need to be original.
