I Painted My Tiny Fiberglass Camper! // 1987 Cadet n126 // Freedom Microlite Caravan

- I painted my Cadet camper with Rustoleum Marine Primer. It's a very thick paint, and definitely a challenge to use. The camper will be painted with Duralux marine paint in early 2022. I'll be painting the entire camper aqua.

Thanks for watching! Do you like my vision color? Mine will be more of a blue tint. I'm mixing white and turquoise for a soft pastel.
Best regards from Poland, we love our small caravan ;)
Thanks. They are pretty rare here. I like having something unique.

Getting closer to finished! Keep workin on it.
It's on hold now until I have help. Thanks for watching.
Looks good! So satisfying doing the restoration yourself.
My brain agrees, but my body was yelling at me!
Looking great... Can't wait to see your vision come to be....
You and me both!
Great job! I like how you’ve brought your Cadet back to such nice condition. Looking forward to the final coat!
Me too. It's hard to be patient. 😊
It looks beautiful compared to the "before" pics. Such a cute little camper.
Thanks. I really love it. The final color will be aqua!
Wow! You did an awesome job! It looks really nice.
Thank you! 😊
Hello Doreen, you did a wonderful job with the restoration. I look for to seeing it when it is done.
Thank you!
You sure have brought it a long way from when you got it. Looks good can't wait to see the paint on it! God bless 🙏
Thanks 👍. I hope to have it completely done before spring.
Looks great Doreen! I like your future color choice!
Thank you! 😊
It came a long way. Love the white but can’t wait to see the color aqua later.
Me too, but I have to have help with the roof, and that won't happen until after New Years.
Wow Doreen, you are doing a great job. It has come such a long way from when you first purchased it. Nice job!
Thanks Angela 😊
It looks fabulous!
Thanks 👍. This is just the primer. Final color will be aqua.
Looks awesome, Doreen! You have done a fabulous job! I remember what it looked like when you looked at it the first day and got it. Fantastic. It looks good with just the primer, but the aqua color will be very pretty and go well with your interior. Good job!
I love it!
Great Job 👍👍
Thanks 👍

@@CampingTherapy I know the feeling! I wish I could do more on my camper also, but have to wait until spring now!
Great...
Thanks for watching 👍
Super!
Thank you very much!
Good
Thanks 👍
looks sooo good! can't wait until you get to add the color =) are you going all solid color or adding accents?
All solid, but I'll probably cut some vinyl flower decals, like I had on my Scamp.
Oh good timing. I will be painting a fiberglass camper soon too. When you say the primer was thick and a challenge to use, what do you mean? Could you elaborate?
I stirred and stirred, but was never able to get what had settled on the bottom. It was super thick at the bottom, like a paste. When I would use the mixing stick, I would bring up what looks like dry thick powder. I was warned about this by someone ahead of time, so I knew what to expect. He had told me that a lot of people think there's something wrong with the paint, it's just that it's super thick at the bottom and you can't mix it good. It also dries pretty quickly and gets sticky if you try to go over it before it's completely dry. It was totally different than using regular house paint that I'm used to. I used 2 quarts
@@CampingTherapy OK thanks.
Looks good! You going to paint the towing bar and bumper black?
Probably not, it's aluminum. The bumper will get new reflective tape on it. It had some on it when I bought it, but some of it was missing, so I peeled it all off.
@@CampingTherapy
Might consider Rust-Oleum Aluminum Primer on the tow.
Great job! Maybe you want to cooperate? I'm from the company Active Life from Poland. We sew camping accessories, we can sew a porch for your camper. Let me know!
Thanks. I'm in the USA.
