Kamp Kenan do you ship to Alabama? im not sure what the laws are about them here. i would love to adopt one. theyre just awesome little dudes. thank you for sharing this experience with us. 😀
I’m so excited for you! So cool! Babies! If I had more room,I would buy one. I have my hands full with my green iguana lol. She’s grabbed right now and super into trying to escape her enclosure lol
@kenan harkin from what I've seen on species of matamata turtles, you can hatch the eggs from the incubation setup with the eggs "placed above" water on top of the substrate while in the box. So some reason during egg development the undeveloped embryos can sense the water below it and it helps kick start the rest of its cycle of life. There's a little more to it but I think its worth trying and studying on. Let me know what research you've done on that species of 🐢 turtle.
Hi Kenan it’s always a pleasure to watch your video IVE learned so much continue to educate you do such a fantastic job luv ya ❤️ those babies are gorgeous thats my goal one day to purchase a rhino iguana 🦎 from you IVE been wanting one for quite some time now due to ur videos my tortoise and bearded dragon are doing great thanks again so much. Always a fan family
I'm not an expert (stopping at 7:30. if they all hatch at the same time, predators won't be able to eat them all (in the wild). Oh my gosh, their so adorable :)
So glad the time lapse worked out! Great job! Question though, you said they start breathing once their head pops out of the shell. What air do they breathe when in either an incubator or in the ground?
There are veins running along the inside of the egg shell which take in oxygen through gas exchange and are connected to the baby by the umbilicus which is also how they absorb the yolk sac 😊
First, get pretty wealthy by riding bmx bikes! Lol then i really think he did go back to college for something, he says it in a video someplace. . . . but i cannot remember what.
They dont teach this stuff in school. Its all personal experience he has. Sure reading herpetology books on your own time will help alot. But experience and passion is why he is so good at what he does.
I have a question.....for anybody kind enough to answer.....it's it better to have them as solitary pets or to have more than one? And would it be best to have male/female or same sex? ok I guess I had two questions lol. These babies are amazing! I love how they posture up and open their mouth like a ferocious dinosaur lmao. Thanks so much for sharing ur joy with us!!!! Happy B-day Rhino-dino babies!!!
I don't know a lot about rhino iguanas in particular but it is rarely a good idea to house multiple male reptiles together. Kenan keeps a breeding couple, male and female, together, and they produced these babies. It is also fine to keep a solitary rhino iguana.
@@C4GeneralF Yeah I know it's usually good to have one male and one to several females with most wild species. I'm seriously considering getting one (not from him) but I want to make sure I am doing what's best for the animal. If it's best to have pairs I would wait until I can add Two to the budget. But now I know I can get one and then add a "buddy" later down the road. Thanks so much for the info!!
They all poked their heads out facing into the middle of the box. Then Kenen placed the egg down with the head facing the wall. Did that baby make it out?
Kevin from Nerd believes that handling them gently daily as soon as they hatch shows them we are not going to hurt them, and makes them alot calmer. Do you think the same?
It defiantly works, but dont over handle them as that would stress them out. Keep it short and simple. Let them watch you work around them and stuff, and try to get them to climb on you. Dont grab them from above as it will imitate a predator.
They use their claws? I thought they had a little egg tooth at the front of their mouths that is specifically used to cut themselves out of the egg. Then the "egg tooth" falls off the lizard/snake a few days or weeks later. Is that not the case???
"get inspired kid, thats godzilla" lol
Cutest little guys. I love how they open their mouth when you get to close, "Rawr stay away!"
Those little guys are so cute! I was definitely getting the same Jurassic Park vibe watching them poke their heads out of the shell! 🥚🥚🥚🥚🦎🦎🦎🦎🦎🦎🦎
Man time does fly. Feels like it has only been a couple weeks since the egg collecting video. They are looking adorable!
That was a great way of showing them hatching. 😁😁💯
So cool Kenan! Hopefully you'll do a video of setting up their nursery enclosure when the time comes!
Yes👍

Just watched Jurassic World. Those Iguanas remind me of some Raptors hatching.
