@@travismaenle9416 it's probably some trickery due to the fact that the Dream has to be located *somewhere* in-universe. the same thing happens with the layers of Dark Bramble, you can tell going from one node to the other that there's a slight slowdown that's actually a "loading screen", due to the fact that the game is actually teleporting the Traveler in another part of the game. it's just camouflaged well enough and it's extremely unlikely any player would figure out where other layers of the bramble are within space; basically, it's like falling into the Brittle black hole, except the game does not want you to figure out that you're not at the same location anymore. so, my guess is that people figured out where the game hides the Dream, and manage to brute force the ship into the area somehow. I could be wrong but I'd say the Dream areas are actually split within the cliffs of the Stranger (going through the tunnel on the raft is also a "loading screen"), given that there's a lot of combined area that doesn't serve any purpose on the surface. other than for the in-universe worldbuilding, it would also give the game a solution to hide all DLC zones at the same spot.
@@Arkain89 The areas of the game where the dream world are loaded (but not normally visible) are actually extremely nearby to the Stranger in space (they're not INSIDE of it, that doesn't make any sense.) Getting your ship to the dream world was found accidentally from a player leaving the ship floating near the outside of the Stranger instead of parking in the dock. As things move gravity slowly pulls your ship into the dream world sphere.
it's absolutely amazing seeing the feldspar strategy work here! The last time I saw outer wilds speedruns, they still had to slow down at the anglerfish. Also I am SO glad I watched a video about getting the ship into the dream world before this, otherwise I'd have no idea what was going on with parking the ship in that specific spot near the stranger. The precision of its landing was phenomenal! As was all the manoeuvering, especially impressed by the ATP entry. Also, it's really surreal and meta seeing the dreamworld beaten with actual game bugs; it's like. there's the three glitches that you are meant to find to beat it, but then to beat it quick, you have to find glitches in the entire game's reality and absolutely break the laws of the simulation. What I'm saying is, it's fun thematically.

can you do speed run with commentary and slower for explanation pls. For example pls show how to get ship on dream details. And can you show the eye and its surrondings after doing leaving shuttle bug.
The dream world is between the stranger and the sun, so as the sun's gravity starts pulling at the ship it falls into the dream world once it's loaded in with the artifact at a green fire
While both the other replies are correct, neither is thorough. The dream is in fact loaded in-between the Stranger and the Sun, after having slept at a Stranger fire. They position the ship very carefully so that when the solar sails open and the Stranger moves away from the Sun, the ship is left behind, and, outside the cloaking field, begins to get pulled by the Sun's gravity toward the dream. Of course, they also position it for exactly where they want it to fall in at the same time. The rest is waiting, killing time sleeping while the sails open, the Stranger moves away, and the ship gets slowly pulled. The whole method is called "Lucid Dreaming"
Might be tricky to survive while getting the prisoner, but maybe you can manage to wake up, but not sure what happens with the ship now it's in the dream world? Or maybe waking up and moving in space with the scout launcher. Not sure... 🤔
It 100% absolutely is possible, it just is slower. It would be very similar to what you saw here except with some extra backtracking. I'm not sure with all the glitches they used to get to the Prisoner but even glitchless you can free the Prisoner and leave the dream world alive and return to your ship, it's just a lot of travel time.

The dream world is in the same level as everything else, it just only gets loaded in when you're inside it (and it doesn't render the solar system when you're in the dream, so you can't tell). Before entering the Stranger, they positioned their ship outside it so that it would get left behind when the Stranger moves away from the sun and start slowly drifting towards the area where the dreamworld gets loaded, eventually landing in the very specific spot they need it to.

Besides the absolutely insane speedrun, I really do love how the quantum moon takes into account the blinking in the intro at 6:59
It's also the only time the Quantum Moon will move while you're looking at it, because the player has four eyes.
