Deconstructing The Beatles Hey Jude (Isolated Tracks)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 сер 2024
- I reuploaded it to include a backing vocal isolation and an improved orchestra section using the Love 5.1 Mix.
One of the Beatle's most well known songs. It was their longest single being on the charts for nearly 19 weeks. The song was recorded on July 31st and August 1st. It was one of the first Beatle songs to utilize 8 track recorders. During the recording with the large orchestra where they sung the na na na na backing vocals one member walked out saying, "I'm not going to clap my hands and sing Paul McCartney's bloody song".
I tried to level out the audio levels during the fade out to show what was being played. Something you can hear is the start of a funky bassline being played right before the cutoff. That would be later unitized for the Love version of the song.

I like the backing vocals, you can even hear Ringo
John, George, Ringo and 35 musicians from the orchestra singing the long fade out...
I appreciate this so much. I’ve always loved Paul’s piano walking through the song and the orchestra in the beginning with that low something you can hear clear on the mono 45 is nothing short of amazing.
19:15 Paul has an insane vocal range... this track and "I'm Down" are his best Rock & Roll screamer mode.
I liked John's acustic guitar.
That is a really groovy drum part!
16:06 the f bomb was much clearer lol
awesome!! now i can hear Paul's voice isolated so clean unlike most other videos.
I love that I can hear bass clarinets and bassoons
Love the orchestra track... they made this song a massive hit.
Great seperation. Vocals and harmonies are so glorious on this. Great work!
The buried piano sound is now clear.
The latter half is played in a complex way.
The second chord of the na, na, na - is that really the chord Paul played, wow I never realised that before. Sounds odd soloed but perfect in the mix.
Can you spot that moment? I don’t understand
25:00 yes, it sounds odd
25:25 it’s the voicing that makes it weird. It’s an inversion of an Eb chord
Upon further review, it’s sounds like an Eb6
Sounds like the relative minor of the e flat (cm).
So the mystery of 'Fucking Hell!' is actually, "Ohhhh, it's fallen down!". After all these years.
Here I heard J.S. Bach's "Air" 22:53 and 23:25
I loved the piano part, It's lovely
Great job on this
At 19:29: "Good evening ladies and gentlemen"!
Incredible

Does anyone else think the orchestra sounds like Loaded by Primal Scream
George most certainly played electric on the track. At 36:09, you can hear him slide from the 5th/4th fret of the G/B string to the 7th/6th fret and back. He probably used some of the tremolo on the amp. It's sad to see him relegated to such a small part.
They did initially after recording the basic track do a more piano and guitar overdubs, but they scrapped those in order to record the orchestra.
@@isolatedstems Darn it. I would have liked to hear more of that. By the way, his guitar of choice would have been a Gibson SG.
Yes! You Got It! 100% Guitar. How cool that tape bleed of erased bits show up - it's like when they made stereo mixes out of mono mixes using similar tech from the early 1900 recordings by observing harmonics within the record grooves which was the room and 'echo' for better want of words that showed stereo within the original mono - I love this. Blows my freaking mind!
It was George’s own doing. There’s film of the session. Typical passive aggressive George sulked and stormed up to the control room and proceeded to annoy George Martin for the duration of the session. I don’t know how they put up with George for as long as they did. Truly seemed like such a miserable person to be around, much more than even John
He's playing six string badd
I assume that’s not all the electric guitar that was played? Was that the only electric guitar lick played during the whole song?
They did overdub a few extra guitar and piano parts but those weren't included in favor of the orchestration. So those were the only licks throughout the song.
To tell you the truth, I like the video version better than the audio version
Could you separate the vocals from the video official hey jude?
There is an electric guitar on this song
There was an overdub session that did include some electric guitar and extra piano but those overdubs were wiped to make room for the orchestra. If there was any electric guitar left it was buried deep in the mix to where it's hard to hear and isolate.
Well what ab the “Organ” as the guitar track
@@ilovemusic7748 It does sound like a guitar, but I think it might be possible it was doubled by an electric piano of some kind. Although a guitar was there for sure now that I've listened to it more.
@@isolatedstems think it’s a guitar, you can hear a slide at 36:07
The piano chords that Paul played on the Na-Na-Na section sounds so good
Some of the photos are wrong. Example, Paul does not play the bass in this
The photo itself is from the Hey Jude overdub session. Paul did play the bass. The music video might show George but that's because it was a music video.
George only mimed the bass part on the video. It was actually played by Paul.
@@BigSky1 six string bass
Hey jude it's an iconic song as it is, but there should be more guitar in it. I'm sure George could have come up with a nice solo. Let it be Style. It sounds more like a Paul solo song but still, a beautiful song.
They did record additional guitar and piano overdubs but it was decided to scrap them in favor of the orchestra overdubs. I think that was the right choice as I think there wasn't really any need for more guitar.
@@isolatedstems It needs more guitar. Basically what George played for isn't a pity
