I've watched a few of your videos and they're concise, to the point and at the same time insightful. Keep up the good work man! Just had a doubt: I've heard that in MBA first year courses are common and specialisations haven't been decided yet, so how do people get selected to different committees? For example, will the Finance Committee select Marketing students or vice versa?
Continuing with the above comment, what if someone wants to join a Finance committee but he doesn't have a commerce back, will the seniors at IIMs accept that person? In my personal experience being a part of a DU management school, my senior didn't get me the opportunity to be a part of finance club. I wasn't happy with the curriculum of DU that's why I left it. I think my story is similar to yours. Now I am planning to go to IIMs.
@@harshverma9565 Sab Moh Maya h dost! Tbh, background does matter. But in Consult or Marketing committees, it hardly matters which background you belong to. For Fin, it surely has to matter but if you are genuinely interested, the Committee Selection Interviews will be pretty unbiased and an opportunity to get that shortlist (unlike your grad school scenario) Lastly, your Club hardly matters in Placements/SIPs afaik. People not part of them quite often save their time from these committee activities to pick up relevant skills, courses and nail the interviews.
My Older Cousin's Sister who completed her master's in HR from ISB Bengaluru said, "Go for Tier 1 or 2 colleges for a Master doesn't matter whether u r Fresher or Exp. , Tier 3 Colleges r waste of time it is better to get a job then going into tier 3 colleges!".
I didn't come across any such schemes at XL but I'm sure something would exist. Also, State Scholarships can eb a last resort. But in top BSchools, basically you get a Scholar/Education Loan easily with no guaranter/mortgage etc. so shouldn't be much of a hassle.

Committee selections happen before electives selection
