Don Revie Fundraiser Leeds United v Soccer All Stars 1988

- The Don, disabled with motor neurone disease was shown amazing support by the likes of Kevin Keegan, Charlie Nicholas, Peter Shilton, Paul Gascoigne, Ray Wilkins, Greame Souness and more, with a charity game at Elland Road. Sadly, little over 7000 of us managed to show our support at Elland Road that night. I was humbled, yet embarrassed and angry at the Leeds public and supposed massive support... anyway, a very special night worth watching in retrospect.

I'm not a Leeds fan, but I respect his achievements and building the great Leeds side. He was ahead of his time, with tactics, team diets and studying the opposition with detailed reports. RIP Don.
Terribly sad I'm not Leeds but I've respect for revie all the best and respect from Blackburn rovers
legend never gets anywhere near the credit he deserves
Great Kevin Keegan with a great message there
Kudos to KK for turning up - despite the fact that he had some issues with Revie when he played for him during his spell as England manager.
Sadly, nearly all of the team Don built are also gone now. I was at this game but felt embarrassed at the poor turn out for the man who put Leeds United on the map!
Great man and a true legend!
John Williamson pushing Don Revie on to the pitch played with Don at Manchester City part of the Revie plan that got City to 2FA cup finals 1955'1956 winners, still around now he is in his 90'
Leeds greatest manager of all time. And will be until the world stop going round 💙💛. And now the we trust in Bielsa.

Absaloute power house was this team, it's now Bielsa.

my upload mate.. would have liked you to asked instead of just taking
poor support for the greatest manager the club ever had
stan ogden & the most corrupt ANY British team ever had
@@liamwhitcombe1237 why? And do you have any proof of this tired old nonsense.
@@liamwhitcombe1237 STFU you complete tool.
7000? LEEDS FANS A DISGRACE RIP Mr Revie
There was about 20000
@@alfiehighley6620 no there wasn't. It was 7,000
What channel is this, cant seem to find this lady on the internet
Whiteley looks like he's about to start crying
Whos that lady who spoke at the start, cant seem to remember her name
Nanette "always wet" Cummings.
Philip Madoc I don’t get it I tried searching it up can’t find it, what was her name is she still alive
4:14 - Dirty Leeds even in a charity game :)
...didn't he get the sack from the England manager's job due to some back hander nonsense?
Greg AVFC 69/70 Jones no he went to manage an Arab team for money
@Mark Sesum It was overturned and deemed the FA didn't have that power, I think. They still have far too much power. For example, banning Silva for stuff he says on Twitter. Ridiculous.
thats leeds side was the of alltime got robbed from the germans
Don Revie > Brian Clough. Clough buggered a once great Leeds United.
2 European cups may beg to differ :-)
@@shanewright2772 He screwed leeds
Well, the reactionaries at Leeds screwed him, too. He learned from Leeds, though and put those lessons to good use.
@@shanewright2772 The worst thing clough did was join without peter taylor . Cloughs ego was massive and was b his downfall . With Taylor he blossomed into a veryn good manager . Top 5 forn bsure but he was well behind Revie and Shankly .
@@Lord_Hillcrest well it was Taylor's choice not to go to Leeds. Cough probably thought he could get by with the excellent scouting network leeds had but he did make some very poor purchases. He'd have been better off clearing out first than trying to replace legends still at the club.
