Ingredients:
Makes 12-14 cupcakes
For the cupcakes:
1¼ cups (155g) all-purpose flour
1½ tablespoons (12g) Cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
1/2 teaspoon Salt
3/4 cup (150g) Sugar
1/2 cup (120ml) buttermilk, room temperature
1/2 cup (110g) Vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon White Vinegar
1 Eggs
1/4 cup (60g) butter, room temperature
1 teaspoon Red food coloring, or more if needed
1 teaspoons Vanilla extract
For the frosting:
1/4 cup (60g) butter, room temperature
4oz (115g) Cream cheese, room temperature
2 cups (250g) Powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350F (175C).
2. In a large bowl sift flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt. Stir and set aside.
3. In a separate large bowl, beat butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at the time, beating until combined after each addition. Add oil, vinegar, vanilla extract, buttermilk and beat until combined. Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix after each addition until well combined. Add food coloring and mix.
4. Scoop the batter into the cupcake liners, about 3/4 of the way full.
5. Bake for 20 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
6. Cool the cupcakes on a wire rack.
7. Make the frosting: in a large bowl beat cream cheese and butter on high speed until and creamy and smooth, about 4-5 minutes. Gradually add powdered sugar and beat until smooth. Add vanilla extract and beat until smooth.
8. Frost cupcakes as desired
Notes:
• All cake ingredients should be in room temperature
• You can use all-purpose flour or cake flour
• Instead of buttermilk you can use milk+1 tablespoon vinegar (mix and let stand 5-10 minutes)

Hey! Does the recipe call for one egg or 2 eggs? The recipe written says 1 but the video there are 2 and it says add one at a time

Yes it the same taste you mix the milk with lemon to make it butter milk.

Try making 1/2 cup buttermilk by mixing 1/2 cup slightly warm milk and 1 teaspoon lemon juice...

Can I ask hơ many eggs did you use? Because in the video I saw 2 eggs, and in the instruction it is said to put one egg at a time, so I don't know how many eggs do we need.
@@tamphamngocthanh3010 yes we have to use 2 eggs but first add 1 egg and mix it well and then add the other egg so one egg at a time 😉

THESE were mind-blowing! I made them for Halloween with a lot of chocolate inside and decorated the top of the cupcake and they were the BEST!! Tysm!
And guys u can not put the red colouring and put in a cake mould. It works beautifully. But it will b a little fragile. It'll b an AWESOME chocolate cake!

Okay ive been making this cupcake for MONTHS and it is MY FAVORITE EVERRR!! Ive never had someone say they dont like it. I WILL invite my friends for a party just to feed this to them !! A tip when ur making it- after adding the eggs the mixture will be runny but make sure to keep mixing!! I use a stand mixer and leave it on for about 6 minutes until it thickens up again. Also after adding the buttermilk and vinegar and vegetable oil the batter will be WATERY. And i mean itll look like plain water. TRUST THE PROCESS AND CONTINUE MIXING. I PROMISE THIS RECIPE WILL HAVE U IN LOVE!! If you were like me and were looking at a bunch if recipes, search no further!

Tip : if you are using gel food colouring use less than a quarter of a teaspoon. Start with 2 drops and add more if necessary. I put it in a with a quarter tsp because I couldn't find my big one and it was already a shade brighter.✌🏽

These were so good, but the cakes did turn out dry on top while wet in the center and an additional 10 minutes to bake. I piped chocolate onto them to form patterns😊great recipe, although there needs to be more red gel...

The colour is dark brown.
