Yeah I love that Oly 12 f/2.0. And can confirm that af is poor with the viltrox. But it does allow some nice toneh for stills e.g. with the EF 50 f/1.4

I take all my knowledge from your channel, as well as dietary advice from your other channel. Thank you for lots of good advice, my life is in perfect balance. I have now a full cabinet of cameras, and lenses, and deciding whether to go for nikkor 50mm f/1.2 z for vlogging AND biceps workouts, or try to go directly to f-mount 200mm f/2 and work more on my core? should an aspiring vlogger go for more repetitions -- or heavier weights? i googled, and noone seems to know.

That G85 kit lens is actually excellent, not sure if you ever got around to using it but it's honestly one of the sharpest and nicest kit lenses I've use. It has an excellent range, the weather sealing works great, it's tack sharp, and generally reliable to focus (obviously regular g85 caveats apply)...also super light weight, just don't drop it :)

I picked up a Nikon D3200 with 3 kit lenses. I use the 35mm. I have no experience or formal operating experience. I learned how to use my dslr finally, and the key is LIGHTING! RGB lights, and. Dimmable soft box light. And it's perfect for what I'm doing. Indoors. Will be filming outdoors soon for mini Docs I'll be dropping soon. Love your channel man.

I just bought the Pentax 35mm f2.8 Macro lens. I challenge anyone in the camera world to find a sharper lens for under $500 Canadian dollars. I still can't believe how amazing Pentax is for the small amount of money needed to own the brand.
Honestly I like how it looks better without a filter. Filter adds some effects, but damn it looks lower resolution, out of focus and weird :)

For intros, outros and roadtrips i film my self with a phone (samsung s10) to get some toneh in my life but even with good lighting it looks cheap AF. I Kijiji'd a full frame D600 with 50k clicks and an afs 50mm 1.8G for $450 Canadian total ( Approx $350 US)...you cant beat that...the whole set up is very capable for a wedding gig...

You are not wrong when you say (again and again) that Sony does nothing to flatter you, the moment you switched to the Olympus it was undiluted handsomeness. The Olympus color science is underrated. You lost the Toneh though.

I need serious help Serious Seriously.
I am trying to make a video That will be like a documentary. Mostly talking head.
I currently have a Samsung note 20 ultra phone and a Dji om4. > which l bought because I don't know how to use cameras.
I also have a Gopro Hero 5 black that I bought new a few years ago and have pretty much never used because I struggled with trying to get the footage into the Editing software 😀.
What I think I really need is just help more than equipment.
But I don't have anyone that knows about cameras or video 😕.
At the time that I bought the gopro I also bought a Zoom H4N pro recorder because everything I read said the audio was bad on the gopro.
But I Don't really know how to use that either.
My question is do I need a better camera or can a decent talking head/documentary type video be made with what I already have?
Also What would be a good camera to buy used on a tight budget? I'm not brand specific but want easy to use and a good quality image. Use will be mostly vlogging.

All you need to go vlogging is the ASUS Zenfone 7 Pro. No, the sensor is not too small, and you get the bets camera the phone has regardless the direction you're recording or taking pictures.
I think people are being too harsh on Nikon, their older cameras still take fantastic photographs, but I can see why people hate them for videos

Hey Casey! So here's my first time asking you a question about gear :
I have a budget of around 5000 CAD to buy my first mirrorless camera to make videos. I previously had a Nikon D7100 with a Sigma 30mm toneh 1.4 and oh boi let's not talk about it (managed to make some pretty nice music videos out of it but yeah, they still suck).
I am looking at the A7C because i will need the autofocus as I shoot a lot of human subjects (music video, documentary and maybe weeding and advertising if I ever get a job in those fields later). I was looking at the S5 because of the price and colors but after binge watching your videos for the past 2 months, I've switched my mind towards Sony (better ecosystem and AF).
I plan on buying the A7C (mainly due to eye AF and gyroscope paired with a gimbal) and a sigma 28 70 toneh 2.8. I however don't know if I shoot wait for the A7IV to expect 10bit colors and 4k 60 and invest in that instead. What do you think? I've also been contemplating the Sony 20 1.8 (because of you) instead of the Sigma 28-70 but it's crazy if I want to have it as my first lens while shooting music video and narrative stuffs, right?! I would like to know if 28mm is wide enough for some street landscape videography (not vlogging i know it's too tight) and if 2.8 good for lowlight, if you could make a video about it that would be nice!

Sony APS-C cameras are actually quite good. The choice of lenses is more than enough as you can use all lenses for E-mount. I think Sony models from A6300 and up are an affordable way to get started with quality video. It's also a system that you can expand and upgrade quite easily.
