Hello cata, I would like to write to you as a fan of moondrop and the iem hobby in general. I need an opinion from someone who actually owns meteor moondrops. At first, when I saw the first photos taken at a convention I found them huge and unattractive, but when I saw your video, what a unique beauty. 500€ is a significant budget for me and I would like to have your opinion on owning them knowing that my most expensive pair are the see audio bravery 2024. Currently I have acquired the moondrop kadenz and aful p5+2. The future purchase that was planned are the tanchjim lost manor in 2025, but I'm afraid that meteor will be out of stock soon. I would like to point out that I have never had the moondrop variations, blessing 2 or dusk 2. Do you think that with the Meteor I can also find my happiness by having some things superior in terms of quality compared to what I already own? PS: thank you for your videos and for convincing me to take kadenz and Robin, I'm delighted.😊
@eargazme Np o/ While I really enjoy my Meteor purchase and want to say something like "trust me bro, you will be happy", there's still two concerns that need to be addressed, size and price. Size is my biggest concern for you ATM, because both of the Kadenz and p5+2 are still in the medium to small size category, and this thing is in the "damn" category. Price wise, 499 is a lot to spend in iem, while I'm pretty sure that you will get a significant upgrade from Kadenz (not gonna talk much about p5+2 since i don't have it), there's still a question that you may want to ask yourself, do you need that 500 for other things, such as dac amp, speakers, headphones etc. It's more important to have a richer listening profile than chasing the cutting edge item on one side imo. If the answer is no, then Meteor is a solid, all rounder choice, that at least, makes me feel like, I have no regret clearing out some older generation iems such as monarch mk2.

And I have an another question, where I buy the atami câble ? I didn't see it on retail store. It is included in the package of the meteor?
@@eargazme The atami cable is not for sale yet, it's a gift from MD if one purchase Meteor on day one from their official CN shop, just like back in the day they gifted line K as the gift for day1 Kato purchase.
But don't worry, i think it sounds good enough with the default cable (3.5/4.4) already.

They are sure thick as heck which means they will stick out a lot. But in terms of how much ear space they take, they are also much bigger than monarch mkii?
In terms of surface area that touches my ears, it's not much bigger than monarch mkii, more like they have different shape, and Meteor just sit on my ears like a device.

you may be surprised, MD actually has a limited version of Kato, called Beautiful World, is made with diamond...
I already have Variations, and i'm very pleased with em. Is it worth to buy Meteor as an upgrade or not?
I won't necessarily call it a direct upgrade because a. tuning is completely different b. size is much bigger as well.
While I'd treat Meteor as a more mature, all rounded iem with big bass and imaging, variation is still one of my go to, for female vocal solo.
Sooooo, if you're very pleased with variation already, there's no need to rush or something, just remember Meteor exist and feel free to demo it in your free time (it's a hobby anyway)
VS Studio 4 and Mega5est?
@@abnormalspeciesabs94 Don’t have mega5est so I’ll not comment on that, but versus studio 4, meteor is more fun with the big bass and imaging, while studio 4 is just too good for monitoring purposes.

@@abnormalspeciesabs94 depending on your preference, everyone has different definition on timbre, I’d say studio 4 sounds easier on percussion, but meteor sounded clearer.
