While Toki and Raoh were indeed Undoubtely superior to Kenshiro BACK THEN, you have to remember that Ryuken chose Ken cause he was the most Humane person he had ever seen in his entire life, Raoh was out of the question from point 1 and Toki Mostly wanted to use Hokuto to help people than to fight, this combined with what i said before abt Ken were the deciding factor to make Ken the successor and the "God of Death" and this was decided way before toki Got the sickness from the radiation and in the end Ryuken turned to be Very right about the Humane part, as Ken became the Saviour that everybody awaited since the war destroyed the world.

But what am I missing, in FOTNS movie Ken pops up out of the dirt after the mute girl screams. When I saw the castle go down and bury everyone I was like … nice continuity! But Ken doesn’t stay buried in this; which is supposed to be the prequel to FORNS?
the real deal is reading this in black and white. it loses all the cheesiness. it's action packed thrilling page after page. those who only watched anime first won't get it.
