there are many studies on how eating too little calories affects your health, behavior and mood. changing your body is not about loosing weight fast, its about learning how to listen to your hunger cues and choosing balanced meals. ESPECIALLY as a man, please don't restrict yourself to 1200 cals a day. @@jos-josradvanji6203 The starving mode thing is a myth. It's only true if you eat in a massive deficit for long enough to have very little fat reserves left to burn.
The reasons people regain weight after drastic diets are much simpler: people tend to overeat after undereating. Studies have been done on that, most people end up eating way more calories than before they started being on a diet.
Still, 800-900 calories is insane, I wouldn't even recommend that to a slightly chubby midget.
Cram all that 1200 Cals on a single meal once a day and you feel like you've eaten like a king.
Das why I love intermittent fasting.
Theirs a pizza takeaway near me. I checked their calory sheet. One large pizza with a cheese crust and side order came to 1200 lol. That stuffs you as well makes you feel like you've eaten so much.
But yeah your right the reason intimittent fasting works so well isn't due to a window where your body is shedding fat. It's because your just eating all your calories within a tiny window in evening for most. It's all about calories in and out no matter what any nutritionist tries to tell you. They try sell their product weight loss pills or diet plans. Forget it. The reason diets work are due to calory restriction.
All you gotta do is go through life counting calory and eventually you be at perfect bmi. Even If you ate like 2300 a day for some that would be perfect for their bmi so say you where like 25 stone. Consuming 2300 you would lose the weight very slowly but within like 4 years you'd reach like 12.5 stone perfect bmi. That's an example. It's really that simple. Depends how rapid you want to lose the weight. Many fail by just sticking to 1200 but if you can force it into a small window you feel you've eaten alot and likely works alot more.
Intermittent fasting probably has some benefits in terms of detoxing the body and giving the digestive system a break which would overall give you more energy.
This is exactly why I do IF 😆
lol have fun ruining your hormones. no man should eat 1200 calories a day and you need healthy fats to produce hormones. these processed foods he was eating is not healthy. coffee with sugar big insulin spike

I implore most people;
Don’t eat this few calories. A caloric intake this low will be very hard on you, will likely lead to a loss in muscle as well as fat (muscle burns fat and makes you look leaner at healthier body fat percentages).
Go calculate your theoretical maintenance calories and try eating that for a week while tracking your calories in a note book or my fitness pal. Also, weight yourself after you wake up every day at the same time and make a note each day of the weight. Do this for two weeks. If you see that you gain weight on this many calories, you have three options.
First; you can eat less calories, and about 500 less calories a day will burn a pound of body fat per week, however this is pretty hard for most people to do, so there is nothing wrong with only cutting 250 calories out and burning half a pound. Option 2 is that you eat the same but burn 250-500 extra calories a day. I suggest doing moderate intensity steady state cardio. Get on the elliptical and crank the resistance to what you can manage and push at a good clip. Other forms of cardio are fine as well, choose whatever is fun for you.
Finally there is what I consider the best option which is to burn 250 calories and eat 250 calories less that way you get the best of both worlds and don’t have to murder yourself on a diet.
Set realistic goals and enjoy the journey without ol obsessing over the destination.
💯 even just dropping by 100cal per day for a month and then another 100cal per day the next month until you're eating enough for the weight you want to maintain. Which is NOT 1200cal. Unless you're wanting to exist solely as a slab of meat that does not move.
Weight lifting is a must. HIIT 2-4 times per week also is fine (but HIIT need to be executed in a proper way, with proper intensity, duration and break between sets)
Exactly. This type of diet isn’t sustainable. Especially for the type of people that are trying to lose lots of weight.
and yes, weight training is essential. Build muscle, raise your metabolism.

You can eat much more volume and filling meals on 1200 kcals. Just swap foods and be creative with calorie dense foods!!
Yep, adding fattier foods will help a lot with keeping one sated for much longer while reducing cravings.
Fat in food =/= Fat on your body, that's the most clever trick the food industry has imployed to fool people into thinking that Fatty foods will make me Fat, cause people conciously and unconciously relate fat in food to fat on your belly, when in reality fat in food is the best fuel you can use, while carbs literally kill you. (Note* That is, if you're an average human being who has a huge carb heavy diet and are sedentary, I'm not talking about body builders who consume ludicrous amounts of carbs and are in the best shape they'll ever be, these two people are worlds apart.)
I have gut issues from eating a low calorie high volume diet. Also you need at least 40g of fat per day for normal brain function
The sugar ranch dressing and peas no why did he need bottled ranch dressing which is a train wreck,,, the avocados work! That’s so many added calories and why peas lol what about zucchini spirals, mashed califlower, blah blah he could have so much more healthy food in place of the sugar ranch and peas
@Pam Fay on the peas idea, I agree with him solely for it being a great source of protein. That's it though. His macros are a trainwreck, he won't lose fat, he will lose more muscle instead. People need to stop relying on the number on the scale and take weekly photos.
my doctor told me 1700-2000 is good to maintain my weight (i’m 5“11). 1600 to loose weight. Don’t cut off a lot of your calories. Calculate how much you normally need and from that subtract like 100-200 calories at first. And look how it goes. Also depends on how active you are. I‘m 0% active
That’s a nice looking man right there!
Egg and kimchi rice bowls are life savers on a calorie deficit. They're roughly 500-600 calories and are filling. Can swap out the eggs for some other lean protein too, like chicken breast. But of course, this only if you're strictly counting calories and not the macros.
What's macros??? I'm new to this

Down 62 lbs since October doing OMAD alternate day fasting eating probably around 800-1500 calories a day depending on the day. with a few cheat days in between where i eat 2-3k calories. It's definitely sustainable. Just because a person has impulse control issues when they see a donut doesn't mean this isn't sustainable.
If you can spread the entire meal into 1 day or maybe a short 2 meal eating window, that is probably more feasible.
I would also ditch the sugar in coffee or just go tea instead. Those extra calories can be better served in a gravy or a sauce to make your main meals more palatable.
The sugar was 30 calories you knob
Definitely would reduce the carbs and sugars in your diet you propose. I would also increase the lettuce and make a ham salad with more veggies to replace the lack of bread. I would work my way to a greater amount of meat and veggies for dinner.
I just want to ask which kind of 200 g of beef plus 100 g of peas has 290 cal?? That's not true. That's 543 cal minimum for dinner
True
Lean cuts of beef has like 21g protein and 2,8g fat for only 110kcal, that's 220kcal for 200g. Peas are 70kcal for 100g. All together is actually 290 kcal.
Not much of a meal but the macros are correct if you use lean cuts of beef.
He must be eating the leanest possible cut of beef & not using any oil to cook. I'd add 60 kcal for a half tbsp of olive oil, bc it'll be easier, taste better, have better macros & most of us don't want to scrub a pan - especially if our diet is this low & we are barely getting sufficient kcal to sustain us 🤣
For YOUR WEIGHT it is that much for dinner but its different for others stop hating
Well a 90g chicken breast has 110cal… That beef looked very lean, so 290cal kinda makes sense. I dont think peas have too many calories tbh.
If I could only eat 1200 cals a day I'd choose a high in volume food
to get an approximate calorie count, food must be weighed since a certain gram of carbohydrates, fats or protein is equivalent to a ceratin number of calories

As a women this is literally as much as I’d need to eat to loose 1.5 lbg each week. I’m short and don’t weight that much, plus this would be really healthy for me so I’d say this isn’t too bad. Though for a male you’d you need to eat much more than this for a healthy sustainable weightloss
According to some research I’ve done, it does say the same for me, but someone said that’s a lot to lose in a week so cut by 10-15% of your maintenance and you could still lose weight. You could also carb cycle, where some days you eat below maintenance and some days you eat at or above maintenance since eating 1200 every single day for some people is unrealistic. There are so many different ways to lose weight and I’m learning that
What’s your height? I’m 5’4 and don’t know many calories I need to lose weight.
I eat around 1100 to 1400 kcal a day when I want to lose weight, but if I'm gonna stabilize my weight and work out now and then, I try to eat the equivalent of 2200 kcal a day. I always try to have little carbohydrates and sugar. Back in the day when I didn't care about my eating it wasn't unusual for me to just eat a 3000 kcal pizza and soda just cuz I wanted to. It's very sustainable in fact, less dishes to do, less money wasted on shitty junkfood. The reason you're putting the weight back on is because you're undisciplined, this isn't a thing you can do then go back to your old lifestyle, it's a complete change to your life. You employ a diet like this, lose weight until you hit your goal, then completely change your life to eating whole foods, meats, NO junkfood, NO fizzy drinks, NO sugar.
