    Thanks for the video, this really helped me out! Managed to replace both reverse light bulbs and reg plate lights, and take the plastic cover off to retrieve a escaped nut after it fell off 😃

    5 years, and not a single one have done this tail light thingy! Life safer. Have some minor rust so i need to get the rear light on the boot out. You are the only one showing how to get it out. Kinda nervous about the white plastic thing though, couldnt really see were its connected or if it has a big purpose

      You will be fine! The white plastic part holds all of the bulbs in place. It clips in to the main plastic part.

      @@twin2civicgaraget2cg75 Ah, i meant the one you dropped =) But i guess that one only holds the taillight in place against the body of the boot (can only go one way)?

    Very good video. I only wish I’d found it earlier. When I searched before couldn´t find anything anywhere. I recently had a rear wiper motor replaced, number plate bulb replaced and I replaced both rear reversing/fog lights on my A3. I replaced the awful number plate lense screws with slightly longer ones which pulled the lense in more making a better connection. My cheap replacement rear wiper motor makes a loud whining noise - should have gone OE.

      Cheers from the comment. Glad you got your car fixed. OE is always good, but there are also a lot of good aftermarket parts too. Cheers

      Oh... if you were talking about the motor itself.... then yes OE all the way.

      Yes, I did mean the motor. Just edited my first reply to clarify I was talking about the motor. 👍

    The rear wiper is a bit of a fire hazard as the water runs through it and if the blade is stuck it can overheat - mine melted part of the motor and its plug -- I see you got the plug with the second hand one you got-- very good tutorial.

    Where did you buy the rear wiper motor from please?

    I was advised to disconnect the battery to avoid getting any fault codes when I replaced my A3 inner rear lights. Do you think that was necessary?

    • @twin2civicgaraget2cg75
      @twin2civicgaraget2cg75  4 роки тому +1

      I didnt disconnect my battery to do this amd had no errors. Although I once disconnected the glovebox, which includes the passenger airbag switch key.... without disconnecting the battery. This left me with a warning light which I needed a proper fault code scanner to clear. Cheers

    Thank you. I replaced my rear wiper motor. But when I put it ON it stays on. No cycle. Just keeps on going. Any advice? Thank you

    • @twin2civicgaraget2cg75

      Before you replace the wiper motor, was the wiper working normally before it broke?
      If this car came to you with it broken.... then I would suggest either the switch or the control unit. You could unplug the wiper storck switch and see if it stops the wiper motor moving.
      Cheers

      @@twin2civicgaraget2cg75 thank you for your detailed response.
      Yes the wiper motor was burned inside when I bought the car from my mechanic. He did replace it with a second one from a scrapped car. But he was lost for words when he couldn't figure out why it was continuously ON. He then tried replacing the Stoke as well to no success unfortunately. Now he thinks it's with the electrical harness and wants to buy a switcher on eBay and resolve it. Thank you.

      @@delrich21 Hi, I had the same issue.... but mine was burnt out as someone tried to move snow off the back window with it! I would see if you can get a new wiper control module then or like you mechanic says check the wiring/electrical connectors. Good luck.

      Hi, first I would check it is getting 12 Volts and has a good earth. If it does... maybe the wiper mechanism you have put in is broken.... was it 2nd hand?

    Is the rear window wiper supposed to automatically operate for 8 - 10 seconds when you start the car? This always happens in my audi a3... it's very strange.

    • @twin2civicgaraget2cg75
      @twin2civicgaraget2cg75  4 роки тому +1

      I would check:
      1/. You are getting battery voltage at the connector.
      2/. If so check the connector pins arr good
      3/. If they are good check bulbs themselves.
      Good luck!
