Brutes vs elites scene is one of my favorite Halo cutscenes, man it felt like i was watching 300
I agree the brutes were pretty (brute)al
Remember the Show writers never played the games So to them most likely no Covenant species outside of the Prophets, Elites and 1 Jackel exist
@@LordDiscord Master Chief actor confirmed grunts and brutes are in the show as well
@@LordDiscord it’s been already debunked that they said that, apparently someone distorted what they said completely, they did see into the games, and it shows in the ton of references in the show
@@LordDiscord Like what @Rysu said. I dont remember where it was from but do you really think that they would make a TV show and spend almost 100 million dollars to make a series about a video game and NOT look at the video game they are making it from? Of course its not a 1 to 1 adaptation, its in its own timeline (The silver timeline i believe they called it) which means that some events and or characters might play out different or BE different. Its almost the exact same as marvel movies, they take inspiration from the comics which would be the halo games in this show and they use that as like a baseline of themes and things to include so they can make a new story that is familiar but also new and exciting.
Elite: Gets hit by moving car. Knocks car over.
Me: “Hey, that’s not how that’s supposed to work!”
It makes sense to be fair
@@insidious8054 Elites aren't that heavy tho, according to halopedia the average elite weighs 139-178kg, or 307-393 pounds. so it shouldn't really have the weight to straight up topple a moving vehicle charging at it just by running into it
To be fair he did go for the left back side while it looked like it was turning right.
I mean, this isn't a warthog or even a spade we're talking about here, potentially that elite just saw it coming and thought "if I can punch a tank to death, I can body check a car over!" and went for it.
Elites have always been that strong in the lore.
Funny enough, in an interview between Marty O’Donnell and, it was either Hidden Experiya or Actman, he said that the original plan in Halo 2 was to have a scene where the brutes were beheading a bunch of marines. They decided not to put that in the game because the Iraq War had literally just started and they thought it was bad taste since there were people being beheaded as well there as well. In the Halo 3 vidocs, you can see Bungie animating a Brute pulling out a marine’s arms and then beating him to death with them.
The brutes are very brutal. They’ll also release captured marines sometimes just to hunt them down again and possibly eat them
@@that_one_helljumper Possibly? Nah man. If you were taken alive you were tomorrows meal. Today's meal was those who died in the battle.
Possibly because you could just be interrogated, killed right away or something else entirely. Or eaten by jackals instead lol
@@TheBucketBrigade How can they digest different species? We can't even eat every creature on this planet
@@pasindudinusha6507 I don't know man. All the brutes see is fresh meat. Doesn't mean they actually digest it well.
The way they make the Elites act in Halo 4-5 and the Tv show effectively replace the brutes at times
“Effectively replace the brutes” and thus losing the individually of both elites or brutes
@@louistorres0054 you realize it only looks that way bc they were fighting mere tiny human rebels, and this was their first encounter with them, and they could not handle them at all. Then you see in that fight how Master Chief and Silver Team decimated them in comparison. When Brutes come in they may make them a harder challenge for Chief bc of their much larger size and power than the elites. Unless you are a spartan, you're not really going to differentiate the two species bc they are both much harder to fight for those that aren't super soldiers.
@@necrowulfx you have not played halo
There on par to halo wars elites
Halo elites 4-5 had wort syndrome
@@necrowulfx no, the elites look like brutes, they're to big, elites are tall and slim, that let's them be agile, while brutes are tall and muscular that make them more resistant and less agile, halos TV series elites are tall and muscular
I wonder if there's going to be a scene where they show jackals and grunts hunting down humans to eat them like in the book helljumper or was it called new blood .
Yeah that was a dark battle. From what I understand, conditions were so bad on both sides that the jackals and grunts were literally starving. People have argued that eating the humans was not their first thing they wanted to do.
@bubba-kush-A-saur new blood
@@sergiogaytan5381 bucks backstory in New blood it's pretty dark. Also something similar happens in the fall of reach.
@@richardpatterson1694 I gotta re read fall of reach again lol I can't remember for some reason .
@@sergiogaytan5381 it's on Jericho VII when the grunts and jackals were eating the civilians.
This is why they should have made the Halo TV series ANIMATED. just like Halo 2 remastered cut scenes and this one
Well blur keeps on raising their prices so
@@nomus1172 still would have been cheaper than the live action i bet
I agree, I mean it looks realistic and really good, no more issues with cgi, and some voice actors could come back to be in film. (Steve Downes, Jen Taylor, etc.)
I'm sort of in the same boat. Personally, I'd love to see Fortiche Production take a crack at it. Arcane was a masterpiece, so I'd be curious to see how they'd take on an IP like Halo. See how they stylize something that has remained quite gritty for a while.
@@Jojo867PIE would be great, but Fortiche is gonna be doing League stuff exclusively for the foreseeable future now that Riot has invested in the company.
Still amazes me that the forward unto dawn movie had a smaller budget than episode one of this new show and still looked miles better
So true!
And thats cap. Aint no way you genuinely think so.
@@TheeJasonReyes oh but I very much do
No, it didn't.
Forward Unto Dawn was decent, but you could see th obvious budget limitations
@@TheeJasonReyes its not cap
It’s amazing how the elites just came at the brutes there one by one in a straight forward charge and not even attempting to dodge out of his way
Well, most of them were jumped by the Brutes while Atriox was the target, the ones that tried to fight back simply got overpowered and one shot. Not much of a chance to dodge there.
Don't tell me you were expecting them to behave like the smart Bungie elites
I think it’s somewhat ridiculous how only the Spartans were able to kill them, but yeah they were SO brutal!
Spartans and elites may have similar strength levels but Spartans have supiror movement and reaction speed, so i feel thats the main reason .
I think the whole fact that the mounted turret didn’t drop elites is a bit silly…
Could of just had an elite plasma the car first showing ‘strategy’ and then bursting from all angles.
Spartans are smarter and better warriors. They were put on the brink of extinction by the covenant. That shaped them into warriors they’re today… and they still got manhandled by the Brutes in Infinite
Its a writing system to show stakes, right now they showed unequipped humans get decimated only for the spartans to handle it with ease, this puts the spartan on a high pedestal which will make a huge impact when one dies to increase stakes as the season continues.
@@Who-Uhm-Cares not the Spartan IIs it was the IVs and before you say that Blue team was there. I'm sure if they were they would have been with chief and atriox would have probably lost. One Spartan II after six months managed to kill Escharum and all the spartan killers single-handedly without any other spartan in sight this alone should put into perspective how much more powerful the original spartans are compared to their successors had blue team been there i doubt chief would have been MIA for six months or that the banished would have killed everyone. Hell even the IIIs are better than the IVs
Need to see grunts in this aswell
Grunts probably munching on Civilian flesh.
@@Red_MOON187 And breath farts in a corner.
They are really... unique...
and they better be the size of regular Marines too, show how truly menacing they would be in real life
@@ScottThePisces Well like a foot shorter on average, but yeah they’re still way bigger than people realize.
@@ScottThePisces They are about the size ofa short human so about 5 feet
big facts, theres a reason why the brutes have such a great rep with battle, there more brutal than orcs
Yo WH40k orks vs Halo 2 Legendary Brutes

@@NoNameTaken117 Orks demolish brutes pretty easily, at least the stronger orks
@@pallani8471 Idk man.
I modded my skewer in Halo Infinite to shot 10 "spikes" per shot, made it shoot 30 times per sec and made it full auto with infinite Ammo.
Escharum survived that shit
(Maybe because of scripted events during battle, but still. I use this as an argument and theres nothing you can do about it)
@@pallani8471 Nerd.
I kind of resent the fact that Brutes have come to be seen as more threatening than the Elites. For most of the history of the Covenant, Brutes had, ahem, brute strength, but little else. The Elites were better fighters, better strategists, better equipped, more cunning, and more intelligent. The Brutes only supplanted the Elites in Halo 2 because they were stupid and unquestioning enough to not doubt the Hierarchs and the Great Journey. Tartarus was little more than Truth's tool. Atriox was cool and threatening enough, but they really had to stretch the lore to fit him in there (the Banished were fighting the Covenant at the same time humans were, and they were better fighters, and they were better equipped, and we just never heard of them? Really?).
Brutes just aren't threatening in the same way Elites are.
"Shipmaster! They outnumber us 3 to 1!"
"Then it is an even fight. All cruisers fire at will. Burn their mongrel hides"
That alone should tell us enough about the Elites' battlefield superiority
@@andrewmeyer3599 "Should" being the key word here
@@LeedleLeePatrick I don't think I quite get what you mean by that? Should as in people should realize that or?
@@andrewmeyer3599 Yeah for those who don't realize that
@@LeedleLeePatrick Gotcha
Brutes will take a bite out of a Marine just for fun and a bit of a snack.
In Halo Infinite, the Brutes actually seperate the marines into prisoners to be shipped to other locations, and prisoners for eating.
The elites in the show armor looks terrible.
I think it looks fine in my opinion, looks kinda like the arbiter armor if im not mistaken.
@@NoNameTaken117 I think it’s cool
Honestly to me it looks better than the armor the Spartans are wearing
@@NoNameTaken117 Looks nothing like arbitors armour
Better armor then the armor they wore in Halo 4 imo
Would be crazy if paramount just erased brutes from their cannon version of halo... would be even crazier if they made brutes in their universe the more diplomatic and honorable ones. Would be even more crazier if they made them look more like wookies because they want to do something “‘different” because fuck the game haha
Not hating on the series just writing down nightmare scenarios
No, you're giving them ideas 💀
Wait till you see the flood
I doubt the flood will be in the Halo TV show
@@lukebeakum1316 I think they were shown in the trailer
@@wilco3 pretty sure that was the hunter worms but I'm hoping they do the flood eventually
@@parthlad8263 hopefully they do! Would be awesome
Yep they gonna mess that up to
I never understood why they don't make a movie using cutscenes like this. Halo 2 Anniversary had amazing graphics for the cutscenes and it would be so much better than a simple animation. It would be awesome.
Every Brute is going to be like an advanced version of a sasquatch, maybe even King Kong, going up against regular humans lol. They don't stand a chance.
I like how the TV show puts a lot of emphasis on showing how outdated AK-47s are to the more modernized assault rifles that the UNSC uses.
They probably don’t even know the brutes exist
The elites shoot, and stab. The brutes rip, and tear. The gore so far is pretty brutal (pun intended) but that encounter gruesome.
Ah yes rip and tear. My favourite sentence in a videogame ever
I kinda hate the elites in the show. They follow the halo 4 behavior of brutal not honorable and the halo 3 art style being really bulky and tall. I wish paramount actually studied the source material not just a glance at an elite
Honestly I just think the Elites are Zealous
The series: *takes bits and pieces from each game to make their own*
You: I wIsH tHeY sTuDiEd SoUrCe MaTeRiAl.
This is how the Elite and the covenant acted in the games, they literally wipe out 24 billion humans. Their single goal was Mass Genocide of the humans.
The toxic halo fans never actually read the Lore it seems
@breaking the 4th wall like But that's the thing. This can't be that early. John is already oldish. The cov have a completed high charity which means they are already entering the next age of reclamation. Even the minors have their own Shield gens. The Spartans already have their upgraded armor and variants. This should be over the half way point. Elites like thel already started to respect humanity in its fight to live. Let alone other elites. Not saying all because there are a few that are just blood thirsty. But most actually respected them. It's why questions started to be asked on why the cov didn't invite humanity to join them from the start. Why must they slaughter foes that weren't offered the chance like all the others. The show has many flaws and this is just non-cannon so continuity be damned.
Also people tend to forget Brutes had nuked their own civilization back to the stone ages before they joined the covenant, which the Brutes had a tech level similar to the Elites.
I remember reading somewhere that the halo rifle fires the same round as an AK so it should have been some what affective
Well the assault rifle does fire HVAP rounds while the AK doesn't
Not that same round somewhat similar tho ak shoot 7.62x39 halo AR/BR shoot special armor piercing 7.62x51 which is a much faster moving bullet
Silly man, dont you know the harder you pull the trigger the more damage the bullets do?, those insurgents strength is nothing compared to a spartans

Both are 7.62, however I just let my imagination run wild and pretend as if the AR is a higher grade level than the ak...bring up the mounted turret and I’m back at being upset at the show
If they bring Atriox into this show, I'm going to loose my mind.
Dude what... theres no way you could actually think they'd ever bring Atriox onto the show... ffs Halo fans are stupidly optimistic at all times lmao
@@whitephillip6997 first off no, I don’t think they will. I have no optimism nor do I think they will follow anything with canon. I should have said if they “were to” being in Atriox. Regardless, chill bro. People have been waiting for this show for so long. Even if they wanted something so simple as a major halo character to show up, who cares.
Atriox will be a human
@@grantfuller6123 that’s my biggest fear. Between budget and writing, I have a feeling this covenant girl is supposed to replace the arbiter. So much potential.

I think the Shows Elites are actually a mix of Brutes and Elites.
I don't think the showrunners know the difference as later Halo Brutes wore similar armor.
If you think about it, the shows Elites basically almost look like brutes except for the mouth.
They ram the car like a brute would, they wear big armor and they are way bigger in physique....
Dude just shoulder checked a truck....
And if the Brutes aren't enough imagine how gross and disgusting the Flood will look. Heck I wonder if simply showing them will get you demonetized
Iv noticed that over the course of the franchise, the bad guys keep getting taller. At this rate, the hunters will be 1/2 a mile tall 😂
Fr. And stronger. I mean did you see the elite just topple a moving truck? Crazy stuff
@@savethebees275 it’s getting insane. In the original, MC is the same height as an elite. Which just makes sense.
The only thing that bothered me about Halo Wars 2 is how tiny the elites were. Elites can be around about the same height in the lore. In these cutscenes elites are tiny if you consider that brutes on average are about 8 to 9 feet tall.
Uhhh my dude no. Elites are huge, but brutes are almost double the size of a grown adault human. In game the scale of... Well everything is completely off, but im 1.81m tall (idk if thats 5.11 or 6ft but sth like that), and i stood next to a life size brute in VR once. I could headbutt that dick comfortably standing up if i wanted. Their hands are so big they could completely reach around my torso. They can definately spit an elite on its head.
To be fair it was a chieftain and they are larger, even without headgear, but still. Those mfs are massive.
I mean even drones are bigger than i am. The games "toy box" scaling absolutely doesnt help our perception of the covenants actual sizes

this cutscene was about as true to the lore as the show. no way that a bunch of stupid gorillas defeat a group of elites without losing half their men. every time they wanted to make someone look badass, they get out a ridiculous amount of plotarmor and it sucks. same as nearly every spartan 2 dying while chief always survives. that's not his luck, it's pure bad writing. problem is, every new bad guy now has to be more badass to even count as a treat, instead of truly giving a feeling of how difficult the fights are. hate it or not, but the storytelling after CE went downwards. were halo 3 not so epic in everything else, the story would have ruined it...
