  • How to check your brake pads and how to replace old brake pads "if needed" on a Yamaha Virago 750 (1995).
    ****5 MIN. 08 SEC IN, USE THE OLD BRAKE PAD AS A BASE BEFORE FORCING THE CALIPER BACK, IN THE OPEN POSITiON WITH THE SCREWDRIVER IN ORDER NOT TO DAMAGE THE INSIDE OF THE CALIPER. THIS WAY YOU WILL BE PUSHING AGAINS THE OLD BRAKE PAD AND NOT DIRECTLY ON THE RING INSIDE.**

    Great Video's, 1 VERY important point is being missed however. Before pushing in the caliper pistons to make room for new thicker replacement brake pads. You have to REMOVE the lid on top of the brake fluid reservoir that is located on the handle bars.
    This is to allow for the release of pressure that will occur in the closed brake line system once you start pushing in the pistons in the caliper. I know this from replacing brake pads in cars. And I also FORGOT to do it when changing the pads on my bike. (stupid of me)
    The result is that I blew the brake fluid reservoir diaphragm located on the top of the fluid reservoir. Which meant that I had brake fluid leaking out from the top of the reservoir, when using the brakes when driving. A new diaphragm was $25.
    Remember to wrap a rag around the fluid reservoir before removing the lid, you don't want any fluid spilling onto any painted surfaces on your bike. The fluid will ruin the paint job.

    I need to know where to find the starter solonoid on my 95 750 virago

    • @pell557
      @pell557  4 роки тому

      I don't have the bike anymore but if you Google yamaha virago 750 starter diagram and search on Google images or even videos you will be able to pin point its location. Just be careful taking it out because your engine oil will be all over the ground.

    Hi i have to change my speedo cable, but the wheel section has a brass looking nipple so nowhere to attach the screw, does that nipple need to be removed or is there a different cable? my bike is a 92 750 FY virago. cheers

      Let me look into it. I do not have the bike anymore but My brother has the same bike. I'll ask him to look into it. I will reply to this message once I get information from him.

      So my brother looked into it.... his bike is a 1996 but he can unscrew the cable off. Maybe look on the Yamaha specs online. Maybe something can help you there. Sorry bud.
