My audio isn't working either-just the intro song- no buzzer or ding sounds. I can't figure out how to download it. It is saved on my Drive, so I don't know what else to do.
Actually, I did download and it doesn't work correct at all- all things are a bit messed up.

Sorry, no. I think for that it would need some programming or Macros which I haven't quite figured out yet.

@@samc.9996 Nothing built into the template so you'd have to add yourself. I think for it to keep score, you'd have to work with macros which I haven't quite figured out just yet. ☺

Just paid and downloaded... I'm a MAC user - so of course it opens in Keynote... I'm finding that I cannot pick which one I want to reveal - it just reveals the answers in order, which obviously is not helpful. Any suggestions?
Hello! You will want to open PowerPoint first and then click "Open" and then select the file from wherever you saved it. It will not work in Keynote.

I skipped through some parts where there wasn't much going on so maybe I missed it but... how do you get powerpoint to total up all the point values?
With this template, you have to keep score manually. I am working on one, though, where you will be able to keep score within the PowerPoint. Hoping to have that ready soon!
Your powerpoint design looks great, but is there any way I could import the Q&A from a csv table? I found an awesome spreadsheet with thousands of them (first, second, third, final rounds, point values, # of answers), but struggling to find a free and easy way to build it up big and fast. Context: teaching intermediate-level students English. Thanks for helping us out!
Thanks! Short answer - no, not with this template as is. Now, I believe it is possible to do with macros but it's not something I know how to do (though it may be worth looking into). I have a Google Slides version that works with an extension that someone else created. With that extension, you do have the ability to import questions and answers from a spreadsheet. I show that here: ua-cam.com/video/swmDZ7CUZfI/v-deo.html Just keep in mind, using the extension is free for up to four rounds and then he charges a small monthly fee if you want to use it for more.

@@yourlearningcareer I thought I might add some feedback you might want to consider. When I try to copy over the slides into an existing presentation, the backgrounds don't carry over. I saw that they aren't in a master, so I realized they must be locked. Unfortunately, I am on a Mac and Powerpoint inexplicably does not have a lock / unlock feature (nor hide!!). It's not a huge deal. I can switch out to your presentation. Also I imagine the great majority of your audience is a Windows user, so this point might be moot. But, thought I'd let you know:) Thanks again.

@@miieneko That is awesome feedback as I really hadn't thought about that scenario. Was thinking of it as a standalone but I can totally see how people would want to copy and paste into their own presentation. If something is locked, it isn't intentional so I'll need to look in the settings.

@@yourlearningcareer Absolutely! Happy to help. I felt a bit sheepish after I made the comment because all I did was just change the background color. lol. But to be fair, if you make other presentations, it's something to consider. I tested all of the interactivity and so far it seems to have carried over.
Since you posted this video, have you found any alternatives to having to keep an answer key on the side? I imagine that would require some macro wizardry that is way beyond my skills? This is all giving me HyperCard flashbacks...
LOL No, not really but I haven't really tried either. I'm not sure how else you would have the answers as the host other than if you memorized them (which I've done for shorter games with something I'm teaching multiple times). What did you have in mind?

Hello! You will want to make sure to click in the rectangle vs. the circle with the number in it.
Can u connect this to a database? I found a database with a bunch of questions and answers that’s in excel, could u somehow link it up so that it shows random ones and there different each time?
Probably but someone smarter than me would need to figure it out. 🙂 I would guess you could do something with macros but I don't know how it would actually come together.

I can't reveal individual answers.... it only goes in order (1,2,3) but say the answer was #7 I'd end up giving away the whole question just to get to #7.... any advise?

Thanks! I didn't know you could do animations in any order with Triggers! I added a success sound to the click and a transition between questions 1 and 2. Super helpful template!

Do you have to enable Macros on your computer to use this version?
Nope! Not on this one. Even with the new version, if you purchase that one, it comes with both a Macro version and non-Macro version. Non-macro one won't have automatic scoring but still works mostly the same.
I've been trying to unzip this file for hours but still dont understand, can someone help me out?

I had a hard time extracting as well but Jeff was great to just email it to me. Extraction of files has gotten so difficult with microsoft lately for reasons that i don't understand. Anyway the template is fantastic and works really well. Read the directions on how to change the questions etc. @@yourlearningcareer

Great question and, unfortunately, the answer is no it doesn't. Keynote is missing the ability to create trigger animations so when the template is brought over into Keynote it doesn't work properly.
I love this! I've been elected to make a family feud game for my work. I did everything but not sure how to actually have my teams play? I have 2 teams with 6 people each. I have 2 monitors. Why can't I see the answers on the Hosts side so that I know which button to click if someone gets a right answer? It's almost like the 2 screens are mirroring each other. Please advise! Thanks!
Hi Sheila! First question - did you watch the video where I show how to use it (starting about a minute in)?
As far as seeing the answers, you won't see them until you click to reveal. You could add them into the PowerPoint notes section for your own reference or create a cheat sheet in Word or something like that. Hopefully I'm understanding the question correctly. I don't have powerpoint, so I opened it with keynote (apple) and I have several issues:
- the answers don't open when I click on the rectangle. But the answers show up in the good order (answer1, then 2, then 3...)
- when I click on the strike indicator, it reveals an anwer but the sound does not open.
Can someone help me please?

I'm sorry, I don't. You should be able to edit in ppt online the same way. You may need to reach out to Microsoft.
My powerpoint says that macros are needed in order to reveal the answers. Does anyone know anything about this?

Yes, you could delete the audio I have in there (it's a little speaker icon to the side) and then add your own. You'll just want to take note of the animation settings I have if you want your sound to behave the same way.

I downloaded the PPT template to my Mac, thank you! But it is asking me if I want to run a macro. When I say "Yes", it still doesn't work. Any thoughts or suggestions?
There are no macros so I don’t know why it would do that. Sorry it’s not working- I haven’t heard of this issue before. One thing, though- are you using Keynote or PowerPoint on your Mac?

@@user-kw1th6ls4h Yes, you could add a trigger with the click to play a sound effect. That is how I set up the "strike" button. So it would just be the same kind of thing for every answer reveal click.

No, On the template it has the big red Xs and I moved them to the side like you said but I don’t have a strike button at all so when I’m on the actual slide show it shows the 3 Xs and I am able to click on them and get the sound but they don’t pop up
@@ashleyramey1016 You should have an email from me that says "Getting the Most out of Your Family Feud Game" it has several tips along with a link to the video for your version. Since you have the full version (with the questions already included) you will want to go to this video: ua-cam.com/video/gm81GE6cG10/v-deo.html If you moved the X's off of the slide, that is why they aren't showing up. You don't need to move or hide them unless you are wanting to make updates to the question. The "Strike" buttons in your version are the red "X" buttons. I've customized the pp presentation, but how do I add teams and timer?
I think you are referring to the other Family Feud video. Unfortunately, that PPT template in the other video is no longer available. That template used Macros to do the timer and scoring and was created by someone else. I used to have a link to it but the site ended up having to remove it.
This new one is one I created but it is not as fancy as that other one since I don’t know how to work with Macros yet. I wanted to have something similar that people could use since the other one isn’t available any more.

Oh, wait, you do have to put your zip code in when filling out the card info so that is probably what it means. It's right next to the CVC.

You can set up a trigger similar to what is set up for the strike button. You would need to add for each answer rectangle.

You could copy and paste one of the existing groups of shapes/answers. Then, you would need to resize everything to fit on the screen.
How do you keep track of the score?
Hello! Scoring is done manually. I usually use a flipchart or whiteboard when I'm doing an in person class or, if virtual (e.g. over Zoom) then I'll just use pen and paper.

What happens when you click in the rectangle?
@@yourlearningcareer so I tried like you said highlighting the text and then type my customized answer but what is does is just type on top of answer, what should I do?
@@adrianatorres9980 I think you may be typing in one of the other rectangles then. The answers are made up of rectangles that are grouped together and you have to be clicking in the right one. You might also try moving the red "X" out of the way. And then another thing to try is to right click and ungroup the rectangles and then try typing in. Hope that helps!
Does this work on iOS?
If it's PowerPoint on iOS, it should. But, if it's Keynote, then some of the functionality will be lost. e.g. being able to click on a specific answer
