  • How to fix Final Cut Pro's audio problem of the annoying click sound when you blade a piece of footage, then move the cut point, and then play it back -- you will hear an annoying clicking sound.
This is not probably the best practice solution, but it is a workable fix and will solve the problem quickly and get your WORK FINISHED!
This was going to be a RANT video, but I decided the world has had enough of ranting about stuff (see Twitter) so instead I just made it a tutorial. I hope this can help someone else out there as frustrated by these ongoing Final Cut Pro audio problems.

Great tip! I usually fade in and out +1 and -1 in the cut and it works too.

Select Both clips and press Option T. It adds a small cross over. Curtis Judd had this on one of his videos.

I know exactly what your talking about and it’s sooo annoying! I think it has to do with the audio level differences from one side of the cut to the other once you blade the clip. Love your channel and keep up the great work!

I can't hear the click, even when you point it out. Am I the only one?
OK, I had to come back and say, "I heard it!" And I used this tutorial to fix it!

Your method takes a lot of time! At the place where the clips connect, press the combination "option + T" magic 😜

Hello Chris. I found your UA-cam channel when I started going down a rabbit hole looking for my next camera. I started with a canon t3 way back and I outgrew that camera after a couple of years of using it. I WAS shopping for a canon 90D but being that mirrorless is kind of the new wave, I shifted my search…… and found you. Your reviews on the previous fujifilm’s X line is kinda what got me to pull the trigger on the new X-T5. Your vid’s are pact with which is both very helpful and insightful.
I enjoy your content very much and looking forward to your review on the XT5.
    Love from Hawaii🤙🏽

This is the same solution I found too. It's crazy that this glitch occurs even when cutting between shots in a multicam clip without changing the audio source. GAH.

Ok glad I'm not the only one with this problem. I don't understand how this even makes it into release software tbh it's literally the most basic functionality of an NLE. Apple are running a clown show.

I am terrible with Final Cut Pro... pretty much all I do is cut off all the extra footage from vacation so it won't be too heavy on the storage... now side point... there isn't a default 6K in Final cut is there? I see 8K and 4K but what is a man to do with the 6K video out of the XT5?

You can always put into a daw like Logic or Pro tools, that's what I do when the audio is messed up or needs to be repaired. That's a great tip though!!!!

+ for me - it's happening not at the cut points only, but throughout video, totally randomly. To whatever file I introduce into FCPX

I have hated those pops too, and last week I stumbled upon a fix that requires setting up a keyboard short cut, but once it’s set it works really well. I found it in this video: ua-cam.com/video/uqVDWFjnuGY/v-deo.html

Just a fair warning that recently you've been getting more and more mac-centric with your videos and most Fuji users are Windows. I mean, make the content you like though.

Stay with filming Fuji related video's. If it means post-processing on a Mac, so be it. It's important for viewers to see YOUR workflow. PLEASE don't start introducing Windows related content.

"most Fuji users are Windows" ??? Really? And your analysis is based on what data? I'm a Fuji user...since the X-E1... and I use a Mac.

@@pal2tech Personally, I don't think "most Fuji users are Windows". Mac user here since 1984 and Fuji user since the X-E1 (2012). Thanks for all the hard work you put into these videos.

I wonder if you are interested in doing a piece on how AI is now being used to scam people with software that imitates voices. My local new in S.F. just did a piece on this. Voices recorded at events, calls, etc., can be emulated to create distress calls to talk people out of money, thinking it's someone they know.
