I live in Anaheim and we have Disneyland and Knotts and six flags magic mountain. But I’m planning a trip with my toddler to Dollywood to experience a different state, different scenery and because this park looks so good. Thanks for the reviews.
Everyone who wants to take grandkids someplace very special, this is it. So clean , food actually very very good, such wonderful employees - many senior citizens. Gorgeous area of the nation too. Tons better than Six Flags over Texas, Disney, etc. Decent family fun!
Dollywood is affordable for all families and has great rides...the way Disney use to be without the pricetag...well worth it. Go to the Dolly Stampede an excellent dinner show. Plus Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge great family fun. Take a hike in the Smokey Mountains well worth the trip! Dolly Parton is a great person she personally donated 10k each to 900 families that lost their homes during the wildfires there!
Honestly, the park is so unique. Most parks are very generic, and are built on flat land. However, Dollywood has incredible scenery, (not surprised, it IS in Tennessee after all) and the whole park feels so lively, and full of character. I love the old fashion, nostalgic feel of the whole park. I love every section of the park, and they all feel so nostalgic. All the areas have incredible theming. Dollywood just leaves the raw land, and works around it. Dollywood rides barely break down. The only times any coasters really shut down are: the lightning rod (it closes extremely often due to maintenance, and, the mystery mine carts. The carts can sometimes have malfunctions almost every day, and they have to test the carts) Dollywood is BY FAR the absolute best park in the entire world. You can NOT have a bad day there, or ever want to leave the park. Go there. Just do it. You will NOT regret it.
Lightning Rod looks absolutly insane! I'm 15 years old and live in the Netherlands so it's quit hard for now to make a trip to Dollywood. But this June i'm going to Sweden and I will try out Wildfire, my first ever RMC!
We went to Dollywood several years ago and had the BEST time ever in a park, The employees and people there are so doggone nice they make it more enjoyable for sure
We’ve had an amazing day here today, back tomorrow for another fun day. We’ve fallen in love with Dollywood already and it’s our first visit. Cheers for your video, it helped us plan our day today.
@@angiecruz5949 amazing! Lightning Rod was the second best coaster I’ve been on and I really enjoyed Thunderhead and Mystery Mine! Really like the theming too!!
It's not six flags, but you're going to have a great time, and see a lot of great things...The rides are fun, and thrilling...I love Dollywood, and I hope they continue to upgrade, and build more coasters!!!
I’m a J1 visa holder and worked in Pigeon Forge. We are free to come in dollywood anytime or day we wanted. I REALLY MISS THIS PLACE!!! I HOPE I COULD COME AGAIN. 😢😢😢
Halle Pierce for season pass holders it opens on the 15th and 16th but you have to reserve I reserved and I’m going Saturday I’m really excited but I’m not sure about people who don’t have season passes
Hi! I'm going to dollywood tomorrow and I wanted to get some good backround info before I go with my best friends this was very helpful and you are such a joyful person you told us lots of details about the park and rated everything perfectly in my opinion!
TN Tornado is getting to be an old coaster, but it can still rip your face off. And on a hot day with the shining sun, it can be a real energy sapper. Never much of a line for it, either. Great video! You really captured the great theming at Dollywood, which I have always adored (I'm native to the area, so I admit some bias for the Appalachian theme). I'd say it's on par with BG-Williamsburg in its own simple way.
Swing ride is the same one as the one that they just bulid in Busch gardens Williamsburg. Sweet. I just rode the one in BG. Cant wait to ride it in dollywood
So you caught the end of the Festival of Nations. I was there for the 2nd weekend of it. You captured the park brilliantly. My first day was insanely busy (on a Sat) but I got to ride every coaster I wanted during my visit except for Thunderhead. [An evening thunderstorm put an early end to my 2nd day at the park. They had to shut down the coaster literally while I was on the ride platform waiting as the next group to load. I got stuck with the crew on the platform for about an hour till the worst of the storm and near sideways gully washer rain passed.] I was truly amazed at how beautiful this park is, all the entertainment, the awesome food in a park, and how well it handles the crowds efficiently.
Yes, I can testify that the cinnamon bread is fantastic. Although a 2020 season pass may have not been the best Christmas present after all. At least we got to get Christmas 2019 free and they are extending it into 2021...
Dollywood is one of the best themed parks in America. It’s my home park and I go to it all the time. I went to carowins once and I was very underwhelmed. Dollywood is just better and I greatly recommend going to it.
The Mountain Slidewinder closed permanatly for some odd reason nobody knows about. I have done research on Dollywood even though I go almost every weekend.
I love your videos. I disagree with the old mine ride (I forget the name) but please do tell us about the surprises! Many of us watch these type of videos so we know what to expect for the kiddos! Thanks for making these videos, they are all great!
We’re going on a family trip here in a few weeks, and I’m scared of rollercoasters. However, I haven’t ridden one in around 6 or 7 years, so I think I might like it now. This is helping me prepare 😂
New viewer here cus I wanted to find out what Dollywood is like (I’m from UK) do not much chance of going.. but hey I like your review and will definitly be checking out your others! GJ bro
Curious if you ever rode the now closed Tampa Busch Gardens wooden track Gwazi. All my life I've loved roller coasters and never found one that would really intimidate me. Then I rode the Gwazi. Broke a rib trying to hang on, then scared to ride it again. Thought maybe I was too old or a wuss, whatever. Years later returned to the park and the Gwazi was still there but closed. I asked a park attendant why. He told me too many people were getting hurt on the ride. I chuckled.
I was wondering this will be my first visit to Dollywood I got the time saver unlimited for three days I’m going. Is Lightning Rod been running two or one trains and would you recommend doing Lightning Rod right away in the morning also I’m going to Gatlinburg on Tuesday when Dollywood is closed can you do Annekeesta, Gatlinburg Skybridge, Mystery Mansion and all the mt coasters and Gatlinburg alpine slide, plus some attractions in Pigeon Forge and The Island at Pigeon Forge in one day?
Anyone know what the height restriction on the large roller coasters, my nephew just had a growth spurt and I'm hoping this year he can get off the little kiddie rides and ride some serious stuff.
My sister went to Dollywood a few months ago and first of all, I didn't know it existed! And I freaked out when I found out there was a place dedicated to Dolly Parton, and pretty upset that my sister didnt take me :( but I thought it was like a museum... I had no idea it was an AMUSEMENT PARK until I watched this video
Been to the Gatlinburg area many times on vacation and have never made it to dollywood. we will be there in October 2020 and will be sure to visit. We live about a hour from disney and universal in florida and have visited these parks many times but waiting a hour for a 2 or3 minute ride sucks Dollywood looks less crowded by far,
For a future visit, I highly suggest checking out the glass works and glass blowing studios. Those are perhaps the two most impressive craftsperson/retail areas of the park for me.
Never heard of Dollywood until my sister moved to TN. I live in Los Angeles and have annual pass to Knotts Berry Farm and used to work there.. Some parts of Dollywood and the train remind me of Knotts Berry Farm. Dollywood looks pretty awesome and affordable vs Disneyland.. Went last year and tickets were like $120 and that didnt included downtown disney..

This is an excellent video. Just enough narrative, little face time, and ALL of the park! Bravo!
