Filippost Lambrou..Adobe's official response: "Liquify was completely re-architected in Photoshop CS6 to using the latest graphics card processing to making it blindingly fast. We focused on enhancing the tools and features our customers were using most often in Liquify. Unfortunately, this came with some tradeoffs and some little used features like the Turbulence and Mirror tools, didn't get re-architected in an effort to streamline and modernize Liquify."
Thank you so much for this. I got an idea yesterday to make a space like photo but was having trouble getting my gas giant's atmosphere to look correct and I conveniently found this. Thank you, you're a great teacher.
To activate the swirl tool in CS6 you open the liquify tool look to the bar on the left. Theres a box that says "Advanced mode". Click it and the twirl tool will appear.

Thanks Marty, Just did this in CS6 Extended, had to make up my own pattern as it does not have the Turbulence tool. Had fun making it and is now my Desk Top Picture Looks great.
Hi, great tut, Using PS CC here, I got around the liquify problem by starting off the image in PSE 10, then loading the file into CC after the liquify section, hope this helps other readers, also if you have a copy of PS CS5, you can copy the Liquify plugin? from there into CC and it should work.
you can achieve almost the same result by using the "Forward warp" tool. To view all the other Liquify-Tools you just have to press the checkbox on the upper right that says: "Advanced Mode".
Marty at 4:11 you say to press Ctrl or Command as you click on the layer to bring up it's selection. Is the shortcut the same in Elements to bring up the selection?
Can you please tell me if you bought it or downloaded it... if downloaded it please tell form which site...??? Sorry for asking so much but i really want this...
CS5 is old. The newest version is "CC 2014". When you go to Adobe Creative Cloud, you can download this version + Lightroom for a subscription of $9.99 p/month.
Can someone make this for me? With red/white/black? Maybe with a big M in the middle such as the one i have right now? I know this is a tutorial, but I really suck as PS no matter what. Then I get frustrated because everything I make, never turns out how i want it to. Can someone help me out?

damn i have not got turbulence tool
Unfortunately, CS6 doesn't have the Turbulence Tool, or I haven't found it, it's not in the Liquify window.
you can achieve almost the same result by using the "Forward warp" tool. To view all the other Liquify-Tools you just have to press the checkbox on the upper right that says: "Advanced Mode".
When I am older, I want to scientifically create a planet, but you channel is very good
long time dude...
i couldnt modify it to have the dark side but everything else came up the same. thanks
Can you make a planet rotation tutorial...??? Is it possible...???
bswade007...sorry, I've never used Elements.
or if you have a texture of a gas planet?
I don't have turbelance tool. I use CS6. What should I do?
Marty at 4:11 you say to press Ctrl or Command as you click on the layer to bring up it's selection. Is the shortcut the same in Elements to bring up the selection?
woooow !!! i do it =
GTAsaGuide Ita...Image > Mode > RBG, 8bits/per channel
any idea on where to find the noise gradient?
find it ! when you're in the gradient editor, beside "Gradient type" choose "noise" instead of "uniform", mess with the settings and you've got it
What photoshop is this?
How do you reset the gradient tool back to the original
Just click the black, white preset thumbnail box.
sky chulla...Image > Mode > RGB, 8 Bits/per Channel
However, I find the "Forward Warp" tool does a similar job. :)
TWOJE FORWAED WARP JEST BANKI

I Can't found the turbolance tool in CS6 Extended :( Can you help me?
muy rico
i d'ont find te turbelance tool by liquify
i don't have the turbulence tool :/
If there is no Turbulence tool can we still make the Jupiter ?????
Yes.
a great tutorial NO DOUBT,
but at 4:50 u merge empty layer,
i wanna be sure that YOU DID for the sake of rasterzing fx effects?
Yes, it's a way to rasterize the fx. Another way is to go to Layer > Rasterize > Layer Style. You could also make the layer into a Smart Object.
Blue Lightning TV
i alwayz love the alternates, thanks for othr ways

I agree. Turbulence was great.
Marty just a quick question, why have you created new empty layer (layer 3) to merge it with Layer 1 (with its layer styles)?
punished for having a legit paid for version , its a shame as i really enjoy these tuts
