My goal with this channel is to grow a community of Thailand Lovers who like to have fun. Day dreaming is encouraged here. Always remember, you only get so many trips around the sun... so make 'em count!
You have significantly increased the amount of tourism to Thailand. It’s so awesome that you are bringing QUALITY attention and value to a country that you enjoy. Thank you for inspiring me to book my trip. Very nervous. Very excited. Thanks Chris.
Wow, what an amazing note to read. Hope you have an AMAZING trip over here. You’re gonna love it…
You’ll love it! There’s no need to be nervous!
Another great informative video. Thanks as always. Tomorrow? Street Art?
yet another Banger in Bangkok. i’m with you on dual pricing, the trolls who complain about it are the same ones who think colonialism was a good thing. they all deserve a slap imo.
If we are gonna slap those people I nominate you to do the slapping, Dana! I will start making a list for you, sure some of them won't be able to vlog after the slap. hahaha
The Golden Mount was the first touristy thing I ever did in Bangkok, so it's always going to be a special place for me. I would recommend it as the first stop for new tourists, it's a good cultural immersion and the views of the city are spectacular.
5th today hehe cheers Chris
I love the little history lessons you include! Makes the items on the list come alive a lot more
I'm so glad!
Hey Chris, my wife and I did the golden mount in 2018. It was well worth the visit. The view is amazing isnt it!
Wat Saket and Golden Mountain is great place, I love this spot.
Hi Lisa.
I arrive in Bangkok in two weeks. This list could not have come out at a better time for me. Thank you Chris!!!
Hi Chris I have been frequenting hole in the walls for years. I'm retired from the US Navy and I was stationed in the Philippines, Turkey, a short stint in Thailand as well as traveling extensively all over the world courtesy of the US Navy and US Air Force. I wholeheartedly agree with you that hole in the walls are truly a God given blessing. Thank you for sharing your wonderful experiences with us. We truly appreciate you brother
Wow, much love man!
Awesome! We’re been here in this place 3 years ago and plan to go back next year 2023, God’s will🙏
This video is cool. I hope you enjoyed Golden Mountain there!
We are new AMWF content creator.
I'm from Bangkok and my gf's from Scotland.
Have a nice day/evening everyone!

Thanks for following along this series!
Agreed with you Chris, nothing annoys me more than someone complaining why tourists need to pay more than locals, locals pay taxes, tourists don’t. And even worse when someone from Western countries earning in US dollars, Euros, Pounds and than negotiating with some small family shops in Thailand for USD1.00 … And than going to Starbucks and happily spending USD5.00 - USD10.00 for a coffee!
well said!
FYI
Golden Mountain (Phu Khao Thong) was started during the reign of King Rama III. At first time, they planned to build a large stupa
(a stupa is similar to the Phra Prang Wat Arun, Temple of Dawn), but the ground was too soft and collapsed when starting to build the base, the project is stopped and turned into an abandoned large pile of stones for many years. Until the reign of King Rama IV, there was an idea to reform this pile of stone into the base of the mountain and build a golden pagoda on top as seen today. (The pagoda contains the Buddha's relics.)
amazing comment. my hope with this channel is that each video STARTS a conversation that others add to. so your useful information added onto this topic is EXACTLY what i'm hoping we get more of here. cheers!
@@RetiredWorkingForYou It’s my pleasure, Chris 😀

Epic, how did I miss Wat Seket. I have been going and coming for 20 plus years. I am going to have to talk to my travel planner, my wife. awesome find! Another great video Chris looking forward to number one.
One plate of Pad Krapao would be enough for me 😊
I'm delighted to get you free for a plate of krapow if i have chance to meet you.
Thanks, Chris, I’m really enjoying the daily vlogs! I’m sure they’re taking lots of hard work. Thanks for the dedication.
thanks for this.....it keeps me energized!
Nice, one of my favorite temple's I went during Covid couple times (at no cost 🤔) Here's my take on double pricing:
If you're a tourist, and you crowding the temples for sightseeing... sure, pay a fee, that's more than fair.
If you on work visa and pay taxes; you should be able to enter for free, cause there is really not much else you get in return for paying taxes here :D
Chrish, you're getting there mate, love your show now.
Thanks for another awesome video! Also, thanks for pointing out the dual pricing and the relative expense for westerners. No one said anything in life was fair & I can't fathom being petty enough to get all butthurt over a few dollars.
I'll be in Bangkok tomorrow evening. Then we're heading to Chiang Mai for a while because I heard some Canadian weirdo might have a gathering there in the coming months ;-)
I guess I’ll see ya at a Chiang Mai party? 😉
@@RetiredWorkingForYou Of course. I believe I owe you an ice cold Leo.
OMG literally my three favorite Thai dishes at the beginning
Chris, the culture vulture of Wat Saket 😊
Another great one Chris. First trip was in 1994, and I hated Bangkok. Pre sky train, horrid pollution. Twenty some odd trips later and I LOVE the place. Coming back in January for trip 22 and can't wait. Like a kid counting the days to Christmas right now.
Same same 4me!!
I visited the Golden Mount in January 2019... great memories... thanks for the video 🙏👍 25 half way down to 14 all checked 😉
Great 👍
Was there 2007/2008, great location, quite silent in a loud city, love this places. But we had no fee to pay at that time.
Thanks for the Ghong
fantastic series. Compulsive daily viewing.
Thanks for following along!
100% agree with you on dual pricing. And yes, I love this city! Party on, dude.
Well done Chris- you are a real trooper. Just thinking- Leo should be sponsoring you for this- as previously I was a Chang/Singha man. Now I’m on Leo’s.
Thanks again Chris nice
Great video. I hope to visit this place on my trip to Bangkok next month. It may take a while to climb the 344 steps.
I love morning stirred morning glory too❤
5:50 Thank you Chris for the trivial history of Thailand. I love it so much. (30000 of that old days might equal 300000 deaths today.)
YES NR 14 🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴wohoooo we made the list that is insane 🫶🫶💪🏻🫶💪🏻
Good👍👍
Greetings chris from a windy west coast norway..enjoying your list!
Hello there!
I took my wife there on our first date... :-)
Great place for a first date!
Hey buddy love your videos. My wife and I have been traveling to Thailand for 30 years and want to semi retire in bangkok/samui. Can you do a condo tour in the river areas and villas in samui.
Great tips. Thx
Thanks so much for this amazing video! I will be in Thailand this November and I can't wait to explore Bangkok!
Wow! Great.
Stunning!
Hi Chis, thank you for all the AMAZING information! We were at Wat Saket yesterday and we watched your video and followed your instructions. It was really a great visit and your history lesson made it so interesting!
You can get the canal boat at MBk to the temple.
It's a Great city Chris I was in this temple in 2019🙏
Gosh I ❤ Bangkok! Your videos are fantastic Chris . Thank you so much 🇦🇺🇹🇭

🌶️🌶️🇹🇭🇭🇲🍻🇭🇲🇹🇭🌶️🌶️ Big B
Welcome!
Thank you for gong-gong c",)
thank you. i don't like when foreigners complain about this so i wanted to include my thoughts in this video.
Followed in a row at 14th place.✌️🇹🇭😳
Some years ago, I was in London taking some time off, and went to the Imperial War Museum. I was wearing my veteran's badge and was told that entry was free for veterans. I paid the entrance fee regardless.
For those of you who are Buddhist, the stupa on top the Golden Mountain houses the real relics of Lord Buddha excavated from Piprawa in India near the border to Nepal and was given as a gift from the Indian Government to King Rama 5 back in 1899. So this is a must go place for those of you who want to worship Lord Buddha.🙏🙏🙏
Nice love
Thank so much again and again for you doing now Chris. It's a wonderful thing, a good and a great job that you make for yourself and for Thailand. I think many Thais never go to some place before; thank you let me ,other Thais and other tourist go along with you on your Channel.
thank you so much for this amazing comment!
My pleasure.
A little tip for people watching this like 5 years into the future, you can also take the Orange Line to Lan Luang Station or the Purple Line to Democracy Monument Station as well.
Im really enjoying this series
Glad you’re following along!
I went here via canal taxi last March and certainly enjoyed it. But didn’t know about the vultures so appreciate that interesting factoid. I would recommend drinks or a meal after over on the river which is close by.
New subscriber. Love what your doing 👊🏽
So Good 😊
thanks , I will visit there next month when I'm in Bangkok
Enjoy!
good to know to anyone visiting golden mount now, in 2023 the price for foreigners to get in, went up to 100 baht if i remember correctly. I was there in June 2023.
i did it on my last visit to BKK on a hot day, luckily there's shade on the way up, but even then the humidity and the heat will get you but definitely a must visit if you're in good condition.
344 steps = 1 Leo!!!
just 1 leo? i think 1 for every 100 steps!!!
The name of the pier to get off is Panfa Leelard. I visited Wat Saket many times in the past. There was no ticket booth, fancy entrance or coffee stall until a few years ago. The temple has become another tourist attraction.
Those “little heart shaped things” are shaped like leaves from the Bodhi tree the Buddha obtained enlightenment under if I’m not mistaken …
Hey Chris, I name you " Lord of Thailand" :D.
haha....i'll take that!!
Phu Khao Thong (Golden Temple)
Loved the Golden Mountain last time I was there, quite impressive! Your video was great, love the history, can't wait to see what's next! My wife thinks that the Emerald Buddha will be number 1 and she thinks Thailand will be the number 1 country to watch, I still think it will be Canada!
Thanks so much!
Great spot to visit, I recommend it. There are also other temples nearby that you can visit and the neighbourhood on the south-east side of Wat Saket is neighbourhood with loads of woodcraft workshops and I think it's very cool area to explore
I was born in Ban Batr which is in the close vicinity of Wat Sraket, only a ten-minute walk from the foot of the Golden Mountain.
Good one, dude. And very accurate point about the dual pricing. It is something that I never understood when I either lived in or visited Thailand, but your point about how little the average Thai earns really hits the nail on the head. 👍
Right on!
How can I meet you in bangkok hua
Yay. I am Norwegian and I was there 10 days ago 😃😃😃.
Did you enjoy it? Good views up there huh?
@@RetiredWorkingForYou Yes, I enjoyed myself up there. Got some lovely shots of the sunset over Bangkok. I would recommend going there on Mondays, because then they are open until after sunset.
Tomorrow destination is sure to be baan silaphim
i went in this temple the last summer, in my first day in Bangkok. i don't climb on the upper floor beacuse the rain soaked everywhere and made the stairs very slippery.
