To get to Bang Krachao, you can cross the river at two points. The easier, but much further away, option is to go to Wat Bangna Nok, where larger boats are available. From this pier, motorcycles and bicycles can also board a ferry to Bang Krachao. Simply take the BTS to Bangna station, then a motorcycle taxi to the pier.
The rooms at the Bangkok Tree House are actually small houses with 2 floors, an “outdoor” bathroom, and a roof top terrace for each house. Surrounded by the scents and the sounds and the sweet darkness of the jungle it’s almost an out of this world surreal experience to lie on the rooftop daybed watching the mega city’s skyscrapers way out there in the distance over the tree tops. Highly recommended as is everything else about the green lung! The green lung is a very popular place with Bangkokians for weekend outings and slow paced bicycle rides. Thanks a lot for sharing this, Chris! Absolutely and deservedly among the top ten places to enjoy in Bangkok
The episode I was hoping for. Definitely one of my favourite parts of Bangkok. You did it justice! I haven't spent enough time in Thai countryside to equate it with that ... for me it was always jump on the boat, cross the river and go back in time 100 years. One of my favourite places in the world to get lost on a long sweaty run on those narrow pathways.
When I retired 10 years ago, I biked to this place with a group of elderly bikers and explored the place for half a day, having lunch here. Bang Kachao changes a lot from your video. Then there were not so many cafes and places to eat. The yellow flowers in full bloom throughout Bangkok at this time are Royal Trumpet in Thai we call Thong (gold) Urai (sparkle). BTW, I biked from Pakkret, met with friends under Rama V bridge and biked to this place. Highly recommended biking around here!
I love this small cafe Coconut lane. After a long ride almost to the end of Bangkajao, we had a good relaxation here with a nice view of the local farm and truly the feeling of this island with less hassle in the east side. I just know that there's accommodation here. I'd love to try next time.
Don't you know Christ Dusit Zoo was gone. They already changed their location (and name). It's not in Bangkok right now but Phatumthani so don't worry. Old Zoo is changed to be the new park with King Rama IX monument as Lumipini park and Benchakitti park but not opened yet.
area here Very few foreign tourists know about this place. Bangkok is not full of chaos. Crowded people only But there are still green and peaceful areas hidden. Thank you for opening the world for those people to see.
Thanks Chris for this hidden gem, never knew about it but definitely on the list for our January trip! Enjoying this series, thank you so much for taking the time to make it. And just a guess for #7: Pratunam Market including the Platinum Fashion Mall on the CentralWorld side of Petchaburi Road,
Im so glad to see you recommending something to replace the zoo. Land and sea animals should not suffer in anyway just because we want to have some fun. Great content as usual. We are going to Bangkok with our kids and the bike ride looks really nice.
Really enjoyed this video. I have been hoping to bicycle it one day. For those who want a great view of "the green lung" from a rooftop bar, I recommend the Cielo Sky Bar & Restaurant. 😉
Man, I wish I had seen this sooner! I had no idea there was so much going on in The Green Lung. I will definitely rent a motorbike and go the long way to spend some time there the next time we're in Bangkok (we have plans until we fly out this time). Thanks for another awesome video.
In Srinakorn Park, I used to come across the largest water lizard I'd ever seen in my life. It is larger than the ones in Lumpini Park. Even though I've seen these creatures before, the fact that the one I saw that day was nearly the size of a full-grown alligator is terrifying.
I went here today based on your video. Great place to ride a bike, not much traffic and lots of bike lanes, and you don't have to be on the narrow concrete bits. So quiet on a Monday and reminded me of being in Asian cities before sky scrapers! If riding your on your own bike you can also take it on the boat. Definitely one for cyclists to do in Bangkok along with riding the track around the airport ! 😆
By opting for the pedal bike I'd say I got the full authentic experience here. One of the pedals was broke and hard to push down. The thai man said, "Sir do you want a working bike?" Me "heck no this just adds to the experience and makes it more authentic I'll take the broken one!". Poor breaks, chains slipping gears ⚙️ it was awesome! At the end it rained very hard on me and I was soaked, but it didn't matter I still couldn't go much faster lol
Near my hometown 😉🤙❤️ Here, there is also a forest park of PTT with a small beach. and Lad Pho Park under the Bhumibol Bridge and Chao Phraya River view as well Including many delicious restaurants along the Chao Phraya River
Beautiful please to visit, I love it! My wife is from Bangkok and has never been there, definitely on my bucket list. I'm gonna guess the weekend market for the next place on the list
I have a couple of points to provide as information. First, Bangkrachao was strategically and intentionally kept un-developed to keep the area as green lung to provide oxygen to Bangkok. Second, Dusit zoo is no more: the site is cleared for construction of a new hospital. A new larger zoo is under construction in Pathum Thani.
Although I have been to Thailand and not least Bangkok 30 times, For some unclear reason there has never been a trip to this part of Bangkok. .. ( shame on me ) :) But I see there is a lot to see in the jungle. Bangkok Tree House.. , i remember i has somting like this in Hua hin long ago . realy up in trees, and lots of food, chilli. love it. . so now this is on the bucket list Thanks Chris for working for us :)
The lungs of Bangkok is definitely worth visiting. I used to Cycle on my MTB everyday for fitness. And the best bit is you don't realise you are in Bangkok
Wow! I've been following this list from No. 25. I thought India wouldn't be on this list. At best No 25 or somewhere there 🙂 This is great news. Cheers!
So glad to see this on the list! such an amazing gem! Back in the day i shot an eco tourism documentary about BangKachao for KU. Such a fun time

Great substitution, Chris! This is better than Dusit Zoo for sure.
Love that river, the life of Bangkok.
i LOVE this! it seems like the best place for an introvert to spend the day
This is amazing! You are doing an incredible job showcasing the hidden gems of bkk

time asia magazine used to ranked the area as the best urban oasis of asia.

This is must see, we dit a bicycle tour with our kids they loved it.
Really enjoyed this video. I have been hoping to bicycle it one day. For those who want a great view of "the green lung" from a rooftop bar, I recommend the Cielo Sky Bar & Restaurant. 😉

You should!
Nice vid mate. Love the greenery!
That's unique Chris.. I just come back from the future- but won't spoil what the next one is.

Glad it was helpful!

I have been going out to the "Green Lung" for 30 years now. It's a great place to visit. It's definitely worth it!

Excellent episode. Didn't know that was in Bangkok. Thanks Chris.
Wow, didn’t know that was there.
I love the thumbnail, again. And this episode is great as usual. 👍🏻😄
I think you are the best UA-camrs for Bangkok experience right now. 🌟✨🏆🥇
Near my hometown 😉🤙❤️
Here, there is also a forest park of PTT with a small beach. and Lad Pho Park under the Bhumibol Bridge and Chao Phraya River view as well Including many delicious restaurants along the Chao Phraya River
I would love to stay a few days at the bangkok tree house and share my experience , awesome.

ขอบคุณครับ ที่พาเที่ยว ยังไม่เคยไปเลย
Amazed how sturdy your camera was on the back of the motor bike! Which camera & Selfie stick do you use?
Thanks bud
Wow that's a very big beautiful park.
To cover that much land with a bicycle would take a long time the motorbike sounds like a good idea. 👍

Second, Dusit zoo is no more: the site is cleared for construction of a new hospital. A new larger zoo is under construction in Pathum Thani.
TEENEE app came in handy, but never got the Turn By Turn mapping feature to work. ☹️
Wow such a cool area
Hey Chris enjoying your amazing videos from India.
I knew you would cover it, this an Ko Kret, is just a paradise
I'm with you on zoos! Cool spot to visit. Crossing my fingers that Canada is #1🏁for views🤞
Fingers crossed!
I wonder if there is a bicycle route into Bang Kachao. Wish those skinny ways had slick railings on both sides. Slow, and careful.
Very good!
Local Phra Pradangian checking in!
Safe travels bro 👍

Welcome to Thailand🇹🇭
We'll watch it soon. Can't wait for the next installment
The lungs of Bangkok is definitely worth visiting. I used to Cycle on my MTB everyday for fitness. And the best bit is you don't realise you are in Bangkok
There are larger ferries to cross with bicycles or motorbikes
Totally agree!
Dusit zoo was permanent closed, so #8 on Mark's list should be renew anyway
I think mark covered this place in one of his food videos . Amazing place and finally India is on the list yay .
Great video Chris. And love that tee shirt- can we get one? Only concern is - no helmet 😮 you should wear your skid lid at all times!
Typical Chris Video, informative and gives us an insight into somewhere we didn't know about. Thanks
Dusit Zoo at Mark Wien rated it as being moved to a new, larger location.
Is it possible to rent a bike from Bangna side and return it to the Klong Toei side?
LMAO at 3:41 the Westbrook surprise
Hi Chris question: that shirt you are wearing, when is that model for sale again? Mike needs that in his life 😊
Chris, you forgot to include the app link in the video description. :)
Wow
Wow! I've been following this list from No. 25. I thought India wouldn't be on this list. At best No 25 or somewhere there 🙂
This is great news. Cheers!
Perfect! 🥰🥰
Thank you! 🤗
There is a place here called rakxa wellness u should visit that too.
Tip - wear a life jacket if you ever get in a small boat like that in BKK or have amazing travel insurance! Life jackets save life’s.
Finally India ....And such an interesting place ,my must visit the next time .
What is the name of the Wat from where you catch the boat ,Chris ?
คนไทยแท้ๆยังไม่เคยมาเลยค่ะขอบคุณนะที่พาเที่ยว
Yes! I was wondering when India would show up on your top viewers list.
I dont appreciate zoo in any city either,,,, but great choice for the "green lung".... i see its loaded in the app
Missing another 2 places of interest are Herbal Incense House ( Baan Toop Hom Samunpai) and Bette Splendens Museum
