Hello from Florida! I really enjoy watching your videos. I have a lot of good memories of rigging our tackle with my dad before a big trip. This past Monday was 3 years since he passed away. These definitely bring up good memories. Thanks!

Hi back...send us some of that Florida sunshine,it's horrible here...I'm going to have to start watching some of my old vids on our Vintage playlist when I was fishing in Florida. I used to come over 3 times a year ,its the place for good fishing that is for sure.

I recently fished in an Orlando lake. Using just bread as bait. I rarely fish and was on holiday from the UK. It was during a severe thunderstorm and I actually caught a bass that fell off before I reeled it in.

Graeme, I've never fished in my life. Always been really keen to have a go but been put off because I haven't anyone to go with to show me the ropes and thought I'd just make a fool of myself ha! But I'm addicted to your videos and watch them whenever I have a spare minute!! (to my girlfriends dislike) and I'm going to get started soon hopefully!! Keep them coming....really helpful! Cheers 👍🏼

yes the main thing about those super portable fun little rods.is the control factor against bankside snags. choose your swim carefully and with a bit of patience and skill you might be surprised the size of fish u can get to the bank..not just chub!! I'm thinking about getting my little American ice rods out again to perplex my peers! keep warm in the winter ..just about froze my trunks off all for a couple of jacks yesterday in the local river..and what about the bait I was using ..well sprats of course!

Cheers Graeme - great show as always. I love small rivers - always amazed at how big the fish can be in them - like that nice Dace and Chub you got there.
Here's a tip in return for the thousands you've handed out - when you're "double rubbering" a stick float - if it has an eye then put the line through it anyway(just once) - that way if the float manages to escape the rubbers it's still on the line and you don't loose it. It doesn't change the rig in any significant way :)

yeah I was thinking the same thing ..I just got one recently and tried to put my spinning reel on it didnt fit and i was thinking to myself "how did Mike and Graeme fit theirs on untill i saw this vid ..and the original that came with it i dont think you can cast with that I can loosen it and try but dont know how well it will cast ..i dont want to get a big reel for it i want to keep this fishing kit fairly compact enough to fit in cargo pocket what would you recommend for a perfect reel in this case other then the spinning reels that come with it like the one you show here

@@TAFishing get a can or bottle of beer and a saucer. Drink the beer except for a last swallow. Pour that in the saucer and set it out at ground level in the garden. Harvest the beer flavour slugs in the morning and go fishing for chub! Never caught any other type of fish with slugs. Tight lines!

Toss the foot (or a leaf) of Brassica pekinensis in a patch where slugs live and they will go feast on it. I mean, why waste good beer? (A chinese cabbage is tasty, can be eaten cold or cooked. I got 38 slugs on one foot, half was eaten in one night. )

They would probably compare favourably with the ice fishing rods I've got. I would give them an added plus for compactness, but given that you'd probably be carrying an auger for ice fishing, I'd probably just pack the regular ice fishing rods along with it.
