Thanks for sharing your knowledge Dev. I'm always keeping my eye out for the next lesson, and rewatching lessons from you as I work on my own stuff. Black Metal academy is going great! Thanks again
I've enjoyed watching this series progress, thanks so much for putting this all together. I wonder, do you think you'll ever be able to explore the chord-stylings of bands like Keep of Kalessin or Der Weg Einer Freiheit?
never heard of der weg, will check them out. Keep of kalessin stylings will take ages. Haven't listened to them in years, haven't learned much of their songs either
@@DevGohil Oh wow, I'm honored to introduce you to Der Weg! He has a really good playthrough video of Skepsis pt 1, and imho their best song is called Finisterre. I hope you like them!
Hi Dev, I just want to tell you that I'm really enjoying your videos, even when I dont play the guitar (I'm a bass player) I think they are amazing, and you are great, thanks for sharing your aknowledes Greeting from Argentina lml
Hey mate, really loving this series so far. Would be amazing if we could get a break down some of the more Atmos. BM / Post BM styles. Bands like Hope Drone and Downfall of Gaia for example. Keep up the good work!
Mayhem - Freezing Moon Dissection - The somberlain 1349 - Slaves Dimmu Borgir - Mourning Palace Emperor - I am the Black Wizards Emperor - Loss and Curse of Reverence 1349 - Chasing Dragons 1349 - I am Abomination Ereskigal - Ascent Ereskigal - Sojourn
Dev could u recommend some thrashy black metal bands that use single note riffs instead of chord based riffs? I need to practice. Also, you are absolutely insane!
Nice Video! One question... what is in your opinion the best amp for black metal ? I can't decide between the british or american amps. Best regards from germany 🤘
Dominik Muckel I decided to use ENGL. using a fireball 100 boosted with an imitation tube screamer Try all the amps you can and your favourite will be clear
I also love the melodies that go with the blackened chords together. Very good tutorial.
