- Famous world wide for its spectacular Christmas lights display the pretty Cornish village of Mousehole is popular with tourists year round. In years gone by it was a tight fishing community and the cottages and other buildings there today display that. These days you can find art and craft galleries, lovely little independent shops, lots of ice cream and wonderful seaside scenery and walks. Its just a short hop away on the bus from the centre of Penzance. Bus fares are very reasonable in Cornwall. I will talk more about prices in this video.

I agree Cathy - these places are so hard to get to even for those based in the South West and Louise goes there for us. Such wonderful arm chair travel. Subscribe everyone !!!
@@MallorcaUnderTheSun yes Alex. I am thinking of all the car, bus and train journeys and all the editing time x
Great walk round Mousehole. Lovely little village thanks for showing us. 😊
Thank you Caroline! It was a pleasure! I love exploring places and sharing them. I think I enjoy it even more now that I make videos about places that I visit as I have to make an effort to learn about places, so I can share a little bit about them. Thanks so much for watching and for your nice comment.
What a uniqur name for a village! It definitely was a peaceful looking place. Loved all the potted plants along the alleys and that Welsh dragon enjoying a pudding was pretty cute!
Thank you Donna! Yes, it was so peaceful. I think it would be much busier during the summer holiday time, but equally beautiful! The dragon was so cute! Thanks so much for watching and commenting,
Fabulous video Louise . And I love the pronunciation on the town name. The amount of people who would say Mouse Hole 😅 That’s fantastic value on the buses too which I’m sure are well used given the state of the trains making places likes this so hard to get to. So thanks for going there for us !
What a great little place, absolutely charming, everything seemed appropriately small. It's always ice-cream time, but I'm not sure about paddling & certainly not swimming.
Thanks Faith!
Yes, charming is a fantastic way to describe it! Totally agree about it always being ice cream time! I admire the swimmers in the cold water, but don’t think I could do it! 😂
Another great video and very informative, Thank you 🙏
Aww! Thank you Melinda! Much appreciated!
What a delightful tour of a most beautiful little Cornish village. I loved your narration and interesting facts about this much loved place. I am intrigued by that red dragon eating what looks like a flaming pudding too! Hope someone knows! Your ice cream 🍦 looked lovely at the end. Oh, and that piano 🎹🎶 music was just so chilled and calming! Another great video! Take care, Paul 🙂👍
Thanks so much Paul! Yes, I really hope someone can give some info on the the red dragon eaten the Christmas pudding. The ice cream, was extremely good! The ice cream shops were doing a roaring trade, even though it was the end of October when I visited and filmed this.
I seem to be going through a phase of using relaxing piano music at the moment. Thank you got your feedback on the music and the video! Louise
What a lovely village, great video/tour as usual Louise. It seems so relaxing there. Regards David 📷👍
Thanks so much David! Yes, it was so relaxing! I imagine it might be much busier in the summer, but hopefully would maintain its relaxing vibe. I must check it out in the summer! Thanks so much for watching and commenting 🤗
Hello Louise. I enjoyed your little walk about Mousehole. 😊🐟⚓. Those 2 lady swimmers must be practising mind over matter.🏊🏊🥶. I did a search .. Dylan and Caitlin in Cornwall... and found out more about their time in Cornwall. 😊. Thank you.
Thank you Cathy! Haha! I agree with you there! It must have been freezing for them in the water. That is fantastic that you went on to discover more about Dylan and Caitlin and their time in Cornwall. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
@@SouthWestSundays and you Louise. Am keeping warm.😊
@@cathydyer3774 Ah! That's good! I am too! Mug of coffee, by a radiator in work. I am on a split shift in work today and its not worth going home and driving back, so I have set up office here!
@@SouthWestSundays oh! Glad you are warm and saving petrol x
3.Hello my friend. I just saw the notification bell and I'm watching your video right now. stay tuned please 👍
Thank you so much!
This looks like a very old English seafront village. I bet it’s busy in the summer. Thanks for sharing. M&T
Thanks Mike and Theresa! Yes, I think it would be heaving in the summer! I will try to do a summer video there too and have a look 🤗
Louise you find the most amazing places to visit and explain about them so well ! I loved Mousehole and can see why Dylan Thomas called it quite the loveliest village in England after his honeymoon there. The harbour is stunning and amazing that it dates back to 1266, the houses and streets are adorable and a boat trip in the summer sounds great ! Wondered what the red dragon was all about ? Do you think it had anything to do with Dylan at all ? Or maybe that's too deep hehe :) Great place and I loved the look of your ice cream ! ~ Anna 👍
Thanks so much Anna! I was wondering if there was a connection with the red dragon and Dylan Thomas. I did some googling and could not find anything about it. I would love to know! I really want to visit this gorgeous village in the summer and go on a boat trip. Definitely one to put in my book of video ideas for next year!
@@SouthWestSundays Yes I had a quick look online too until Alf rushed me off to church as we were a bit late ! Interesting thought though :) Beautiful place :)
This was so relaxing to watch and not heard of Mousehole before - looks lovely though :)
Thank you Jesse! 🤗
It’s so gorgeous there! I want to go bank in the summer too! Really lovely place.
What a gorgeous place Louise. I didn't know that's how you pronounced Mousehole. Learnt something new there! It's so pretty. Is it dog friendly there too? Will you go back for the Christmas lights next year?
Hi Amanda! Thank you so much! Yes, its pronounced quite differently to how it is spelt. Unfortunately dogs are not allowed on the harbour beach at any time of the year but they can go to the Salt Ponds beach, which is pebbly and is just to the East of the Village, below the Old Coastguard hotel that was in my video. They can go there any time in my video ( I think I called it a pub by accident!!)
I hope to go there one year for the Christmas lights. Hopefully next year! I must get it in the diary!
Well the red dragon is a symbol of the Brittonic celts which included cornwall and of course wales. Why the pudding ive no idea. Anyway another nice video thst seems to go by so quickly 😂
Thanks so much Shaun for shedding some light on why I saw a red dragon - that’s really interesting to know! Pleased you enjoyed the video 😊
