    Good thing I found this channel!! My friends want me to shoot them doing some tricks and what not. But I mainly shoot cars at shows or on the highway while hanging out the window doing 70.

    I like how the tutorial goes in depth and doesn't just show a load of (awesome) boarding footage... :D

    @cre8tivity06 This video was shot with 3 Nikon D300s and the shots on the sleds were Panasonic TS1

    @chipowerfilms101 that is only possible at a low power setting and Chase had a huge generator to help as well. Dave has to carry all of his lighting on a single sled and he is usually shooting at full power. The refresh rate is sometimes over 3 seconds.

    @jelmerth I had my snowboard boats on just because the snow was so deep and the pro boarders were trying to give me one of their boards to try the jump... Had I tried the jump this video would not have been created because I would have died.
    In terms of syncing I am not sure if you mean was syncing a problem or was light output a problem. Syncing worked fine with the pocket wizards and we had plenty of light with his 1000watt powerpack and head. We did run our of juice for it in the end though

    Great video! Seriously, I'd watch it for the 0:24 to 0:36 part alone - music and animation match perfectly.

    @chipowerfilms101 Chase was using a Broncolor scoro pack, which is probably one of the fastest packs in the game. It is also one of the more expensive packs, plus super heavy and needs AC power to feed it. A lot of guys use the norman or lumedyne battery powered lights, they pack a bigger punch in speedlights and are super portable. I have lit pretty big jumps at night with just a pair of lumedynes

    @chipowerfilms101 yeah if you have a huge power pack it is possible. Chase did it for his sand disk image but I don't think he was as isolated as we were. We were like 10 miles in the middle of no where on snowmobiles. Also he was going for one shot, Dave was shooting all day and couldn't afford to waste all his strobe power on a few shots

      seventhfocus might want to get out there and just work on snowboard skills first before you trust yourself with your rig out

    Nice! Do you think a Canon 7d Mark II can handle the weather while riding down a mountain at around 15 degrees or would I need extra protection from the cold? I was thinking the wind and cold might be too much but I never tried but I want to this year. Thanks

    • @FStoppers
      @FStoppers  5 років тому +2

      Nah, it should be fine. Batteries will die faster but the camera should be good.
