    Hey! I don't really know if I write the correct english translation of what I want to say, but I enjoy your videos very much, because they seem so "pure and true". :) You obviously enjoy what you are doing and I, as a Snowboarder and spectator, love the outcome. I just subscribed and hope to see more in the future! Great job!

      after reading the article on about you on white lines. i was surprised to learn of your upbringing. i've come from a similar background. (calvinist). I'm so glad for you man, i left my parents when i was 18 to work at a resort. i'm 21 now. doing my best to chase my dream of living in a tiny house and traveling (mike baisch style haha). the past year have been rough. with a broken collarbone and shoulder surgery. but i love snowboarding more than anything in the world. Edits like these get me out of bed in the morning.

      jahceejus I hear you man, injuries are a bitch and I have also dealt with more than my fair share of them. There always a silver lining though, you just have to search for it

    God, I love that snowboarder's voice - so funny :D Great video in general. I'd love to shoot skiing and snowboarding, but I don't know anyone who has the skills to pull off tricks and stunts like this.

      +AGH331 Hi! The good ol Kiwi accent huh? Classic. Give it a try, if you get good enough there will be lots of talented athletes wanting to work with you.

    Hey Vernon, love the videos. I'm going out to Japan in November for a season and your vids are getting me stoked. As a keen photographer I'm loving this style of vid and its definitely helping me to learn a few things before I get out and shoot on the mountain. One question I do have, do you pre-focus or use auto focus when shooting? If you pre-focus how do you go about it? All the best dude, Peace

      @SailingLearningByDoing  7 років тому

      Connor Bryan hey man, you'll love Japan! I nearly always pre-focus. Just figure out in advance what your angle is going to be and how you want to frame it. Then focus on the spot in the frame where you want the feature.

    What lens make up your typical setup for a shoot like that?

    • @SailingLearningByDoing
      @SailingLearningByDoing  9 років тому

      +Maverix Snow Ltd hi there, I pack my camera bag different from day-to day. On the day in this video for example it was very hard work, deep snow etc so I kept my bag very light. 1x Canon 5D lll, 70-200 2.8, 50mm 1.2, 16-35 2.8, 15mm fisheye 2.8. Thats it. There will be an upcoming video where I explain and show my backpack so stay tuned for that.
