Tuning stability is also influenced by the angle of thw guitar body is tilted when playing. If people want 100% stability, please use stabiliser like ESP arming adjuster.

The trem should go back to pitch after pulling the bar upwards. One reason that casues that is when the trem is too low and actually sitting below the trem cavity. I had this problem before when I installed a new scalloped neck on a guitar that sat lower than the original neck. I had to lower the floyd rose bridge so far it was actually inside the trem cavity and the guitar would stay a little flat when I pressed the bar down and stay a little sharp when I pulled the bar up. I had to put a shim in the neck to raise it up so I could raise the trem out of the body cavity and then it was fine. Another trick I can recomend is putting a little chap stick on the posts where the knife edges sit, acts as a lubricant.

I had a 1990's Japanese Ibanez RG with a lock trem and replaced it with an ibanez lo pro edge system and had the same tuning instabilities. Maybe not as radical as the stock trem, but had the same issues like you have. My solution was to sell it and get a Fender Strat lol

It's not an Edge III the JEM JR. It's the Standard Double Locking Tremolo. Boring name. I love your JEM70VP, btw. The original Edge is my favorite tremolo of all time.

Other than the old German Floyd Rose the Gotoh 1996t are the ones that have been best to me.
Never had a single issue with either of those for 30 years now.
I dont know which floyd you bought but the FR1000 and the FR special are not as good as the Gotoh.
Hopefully you bought the german made floyd rose.

It's an FR-1000. Very good, German.

@@JucaNeryGuitar NO the 1000 is South korean made and is not as good as the german made version.. it is not junk but the Gotoh 1996t and german floyd is superior to the FR1000.
Look online to see where the FR1000 is made.

@@These_go_to_eleven_1959 Oh yeah, my mistake. But imo and in my guitars both the Floyd and the Gotoh perform very well.

@@JucaNeryGuitar Yes they are all very good trems and will definitely hold up. the only one that is questionable to holding up to some is the Floyd rose special.

I prefer the Schaller over the Floyd-made ones. it is all subjective to a point. some of the Ibanez trems are amazing and some are total shit. I have one Ibanez guitar anymore but it is 43 years old lol, I like Jackson's more, it is a neck thing. I have never found a guitar that doesn't have some issue but most can be overcome. though I do miss my original Satriani model from the first year they came out, I sold it to pay rent but it was an amazing guitar.

@@JucaNeryGuitar Schaller made the original Floyd back in the day until Floyd could make them themselves you can tell the shift by the shape change to the none square corner version. The only difference was the knife edges the Floyd came with hardened steel base plate and due to the patent Schaller had to use knife inserts which did take away from longevity but were easy to replace. The patent ran out a few years ago so Schaller introduced a really nice version without the inserts. You will find many brands have started using good base plates because Floyd can't sue the anymore haha
