The thing about GoPro cameras or action cameras in general is that they make the sea state look calmer than it is. Very true words about what conditions are acceptable - it's a personal call, you your boat and your experience. So true. 👍
To begin with i think you made the right choise (safety first!) to go back before you could get into trouble by the wind👍 Second, you got a nice brace of fish, perfect size, so nice watching you catch them andddd slightly jealous. Thanks for the upload and looking forward to your next video. Greetz from Stipo from Holland
Really enjoying the videos keep them coming. 👍 been visiting Salcombe all my life and always enjoyed getting out fishing. Usually head out over the Bar and fish where you have been trying for mackerel. How far out is the wreck you fished? Heading down in a few weeks would be good to try and catch some more species and the bigger fish.
Glad you are enjoying the videos! That wreck is a fair way out because bait fish have been scarce so to target bigger fish it’s been necessary to travel further to get to wrecks where there are year round resident pouting. Mackerel are now arriving closer inshore so the bigger fish will follow them and the closer wrecks and reefs will start to fish better. Good luck for your visit down here! 👍🎣
Discretion definitely the better part of valour! Frustrating for you but the wise option, plus 3 very decent Pollack to make it a worthwhile effort. Lazy lures good looking product and reasonable price. I'm out 5.30 tomorrow morning trying something very similar - hopefully without the wind fingers crossed.
offshore, small boat, alone, sketchy weather, no lifejacket!! If you can afford a boat like that you can afford 100 quid for a decent lifejacket.... daft!
That was a very informative production with sound advice for any prospective boat owners 👏
Thanks Andrew👍

Completely agree, whatever camera is used, it always seems calmer than it is 👍
Thanks for a great video Geoff.
Thanks John, there seems to be a Geoff theme in the early comments for this video, I’m Rob 🤣👍🎣

Thank you Stipo, yes, have to be sensible out there! 👍
South westerlies are the dominant wind in Salcombe , nice when there is no wind out there
Yes, hopefully we’ll get a bit of that!
always nice when you know you made the right decision. nice video keep up the good work.
Cheers mate👍🎣🎣
Good call and great fish! Another excellent video 🍻
Thank you 👍🎣

Hope you have a good day tomorrow, should be decent with good tides if the wind stays down🎣🎣
Nice session rob. Shame about the pesky wind. Wise choice returning to shore never take unnecessary chances😊😊😊
Definitely Dave, disappointing but there’ll always be another day 👍🎣
@@fishingsalcombe your not wrong we are out fishing tomoz 😎
Have a good session, the weather seems to be setting 🎣🎣
Good video right call there's always tommorow, better safe than sorry
Definitely - calmer days to come! 🎣🎣
What raymarine unit do you use? Looking for something that does relief shading while not breaking the bank! Cheers
It’s an Element 7 mate. It was the most economical of the known brands that I could find to put relief shading on👍
@@fishingsalcombe thanks, thought it may have been that one as was looking at it for the same reason.
Nice one. A bit choppy😮
Yes Bri! The camera always makes it look calmer than it is but it did get a bit fresh!
Not tried jigs yet Geoff
Yes, if there’s not much tide I’ll try them but I prefer lures if there’s movement in the water. Btw, who’s Geoff? I’m Rob 🤣👍🎣
